I really hope you will react to season 3 cuz ive absolutely loved this series.

I see a lot of people hating Aziraphale for this ending, and I think it's unfair. Aziraphale chose to sacrifice his own happiness for the sake of trying to make things better in whatever way he can. Crowley's MO has been just running away, like he wanted to in season 1. Yes, they could have communicated better, but they are both clearly too emotional for that.

I'm seriously concerned for Aziraphale in season 3. He thinks he can fix heaven. Crowley never got a chance to tell him that the reason Gabriel was in trouble was because he was opposing another Armageddon. Azi probably believes he can protect the earth from destruction. Also, since the Metatron was asking Nina if people ever asked for death - and then brought Azi coffee - we also have the possibility that Azi was threatened (or at least Crowley was) and that Azi thinks he can protect himself and them if he goes to work in heaven. This couple still has a massive failure to communicate, and it is making things much more dangerous for both of them. They are at their strongest when they share info and work together.

As you said it: They both want each other, but in different ways. Having had that kind of relationship (in which I really see myself as Crowley and my ex as Az), this finale really hurt me in ways I didn't think it would. Azi doesn't choose heaven over Crowley, but he doesn't see heaven and hell as a corrupt system the way Crowley does. Azirafale still loves heaven very much, and he wants to SHARE that with Crowley. The main difference between Az/Crowley and Gabriel/Beelzebub is that Gabriel and Beelzebub agree with each other on the whole heaven/hell thing.

- You didn't notice the fly over the season buzzing around? Its been shown since the first episode . - when Gabriel is put on "trial" and they say he is going to be punished he is like "oh well guess I'll be going down to hell,so sad 😊" so I think he thought/planned that if he were ever punished he would simply fall and get to be with beelzebub so no big deal.

The Final Fifteen is so personally heartbreaking for me because I closely identify with Aziraphale but my late husband identified with Crowley. Their argument is so painfully familiar....and your reaction, which is not your fault!!!, is dredging up all the guilt I hold towards him. I'm gonna take a break and come back to this reaction when I'm not a sobbing wreck lol

I am definitely in the camp that believes Aziraphale is withholding vital information from Crowley at the end. He's super squirrely when he tells Crowley the news, the way he gets whenever he's got a secret he's hiding, and he looked absolutely miserable in the flashback sequence where the Metatron was making the offer. Plus when Aziraphale hears about the second coming he's a little surprised, but that definitely strengthens his resolve. He's going up there either to protect Crowley from a threat or to subvert heaven's plans, and he felt like he couldn't tell Crowley because the Metatron was right outside and would know it. It's still a deeply flawed decision on Aziraphale's part which will cause massive problems in season 3. I think rearranging the books was for comic relief. It would have been such a massive source of irritation, but Gabriel's presence was such an irritation that Aziraphale was like, "Have a ball!"

It’s interesting seeing people be angry at Aziraphale- not that I don’t understand why. I suppose for me it just felt very in character? People have brought up the religious trauma angle already and that is certainly a big part of why he does this. But the biggest reason I think is that he still believes in what heaven SHOULD be, what it is meant to represent. From his perspective, he’s being offered the chance to make Heaven into what he always believed it was meant to be. And I think a lot of people took what happened at the end of last season (or his general arc) as Aziraphale “learning heaven is bad” but that isn’t the lesson he has taken in. Instead, he views it as Heaven being mismanaged. Heaven itself and God still represent all that is good, but archangels like Gabriel before were misunderstanding God’s will or more interested in their own wills. Surely God would want things to go in the right direction? For Heaven to be all it is supposed to be? If Aziraphale is in charge and can make that happen, isn’t that what’s best for everyone, including Crowley? He’s wrong of course. But he’s not done learning yet, or done with his arc. And I think this sets that up pretty perfectly. I don’t think it will take long for Aziraphale to realize he’s made a big mistake.

I understand the anger towards Azi in this moment, but he didnt chose heaven OVER Crowley, he chose heaven FOR Crowley. He truly seems to believe he can fix heaven, if he can do that, Crowley would be safe, they wouldnt NEED to run. Aziraphale has NEVER accepted Crowleys attempts to run away together, and while Gabriel and Beelzebub could do it, it didnt mean their sides were okay with it, and thats what scares Aziraphale. His answer isnt going to change because of that. He doesnt want to live in fear of being found out constantly, on the run, he wants to be able to have that true feeling of safety with Crowley, and believes he can build to that if hes in charge of Heaven. Plus, now that theres the Second Coming on the horizon, his position of power could be helpful in trying to stop that somehow (Because, lets be honest, the first time around Azi and Crowley didnt do much in terms of actually stopping apart from encouraging Adam in the end- and I say this lovingly) Theres a chance Azi is gonna use this, if not to FIX heaven, to destroy it from the inside, but thats more a theory than an actual prediction lmao-- But like cmon, there is no joy in that smile in the elevator, he is not happy to leave Crowley on earth, but he genuinely believes this is the right move to keep both of them safe :( So many people jump on the Azi hate train after the Final 15 but they BOTH said and did some wrong things while also saying some right things, and we have to remember that they're both having very different reactions to their religious trauma; they're two very different sides of the same coin, and 6000+ years of religious trauma dealing with heaven on Azis side wont magically go undone just because they saw Gabriel and Beelzebub able to go off together, sadly :( Plus, we have to remember that Aziraphale truly, deeply cares about Earth. If they were to run away, someone else would be appointed as Archangel and The Second Coming would happen anyways, Earth would be destroyed as planned. While Gabriel and Beelzebub can run off, far away from Earth without feeling as if anything if left behind, Azi cant quite do that :( (Im sorry this is not an attack of any kind I am simply VERY passionate about Aziraphales characterization and as I said, I truly do understand the anger at his actions, but they were both right and wrong in their own ways, sadly </3)

I doubt Azi would risk keeping a holy fire extinguisher in his shop; Crowley might stop visiting!

The thing about this show is that EVERYTHING has a meaning. The more you dig in to it, the more there is to find. For example, deception and sleight of hand plays a very large part in this season. Aziraphale sneakily placed the ox ribs in Job's robes so the angels would be fooled, he performed the bullet catch with the bullet in his mouth the entire time, and he swapped out the incriminating photo without a miracle. Who's to say there isn't some kind of deception going on with the divorce? There's also tons of symbolism with tarot. But if you're not into it, you can just enjoy it for what it is on the surface

Someone theorized that Aziraphale was pretending to want to work with heaven because the Metatron was listening, and that the entire time he was trying to signal to Crowley that he needed him to help him take down heaven. I like that theory .

They did draw some attention to the fly in the bookshop over the 6 episodes. When Azi first opened the box the fly was in there, you hear it buzzing around sometimes, Gabriel/Jim brings attention to it when he was discovering how gravity works

I love how differently mythological characters are depicted in different forms of media. I would love to see Mosco's face when she realises that the Beelzebub that ran off with Gabriel in this episode is lore wise the same Beelzebub (Queen Bee) from Helluva Boss, at least Biblically speaking.

The great Derek Jacobi plays the Metatron. The angels don't recognize the Metatron either, so don't feel bad. You might want to check out some of Jacobi's other work, including _Vicious,_ his britcom with Ian McKellen. They were also co-grandmasters for the Pride parade awhile back.

Welcome to the Good Omens purgatory where we wait for the ineffable husbands to get their shit together in season 3 😅 But also, quick thoughts: I don't think Azzie would risk having holy water in the bookshop because he doesn't want to have the possibility of hurting Crowley. And the ending!!! Ahhhh! Will never not he gut-wrenching. But! When this first came out people pointed out that Azzie has religious trauma and that doesn't go away quickly. So in his eyes he's finally getting validation from the source that's constantly shunned him. Is it right? Nope cause poor crowley! Or Morgan Terry made a very good point as well with their reaction 👀

When you're able to, I suggest checking out Sendarya's videos for theories about what was going on and what might happen in Season 3. There's debate about whether Aziraphale was really manipulated or whether he was only trying to stall Heaven's plans to destroy the world. Some think the expression on his face in the elevator means he's cooking up a plan to save Crowley and the world from the Second Coming. Others believe his religious trauma keeps him from taking a firm enough stand against Heaven. YMMV.

Somebody speculated that B.'s throne room with the two thrones and what Gabriel says in the meeting implies that B. and Gabriel assumed that Gabriel would Fall for objecting to Armageddon. B. and Gabriel hadn't planned for the punishment the Metatron decreed. All Gabriel could do in the moment was hide his memories and run, but since he went to the bookshop instead of to Hell, B. didn't know what had happened to him and was genuinely freaking out.

It was a hard episode it almost destroyed Morgan
