Great story, but I'm stuck on why she didn't just lie that he did believe her and that he knew how to remove her power.

I thought about the lying to make him believe but I think that she didn't because she wanted their belief to be genuine and not a lie. And when it comes to loosing the power like she pretty much said, she is addicted to it.

@@kamenwaticlients she could cause a paradox lie or just a clever lie that makes all but the last not have an effect. But I don't think she wants it to stop having effect just that she have better control and for the most part for someone to believe her without having to go big. After all if all she cared about was the addiction to lying then she would just say that and could receive help for it but it matters more to her that someone believes her.

The interesting thing is that since her memory doesn't get affected her lies remain lies but to the rest of the world they are true and that it doesn't only take effect from words she simply drew blue sunflowers and now sunflowers are blue, that kind of life would be very stressful because couldn't do anything creative or else would affect the rest of the world. In fact, just enjoying stuff like movies, shows and books and games could possibly result in her changing the world. If she as a kid watched a horror movie and thought monsters are real it could make them real.

@@jayjayhey7897 I mean it's fiction so debating the limits of the character as if they were real potential seems pointless. I would just ask what the intent of this fiction is? Is it about the power of belief or the way in which lies can alter our expirence of the world for the worse? The intent needs to be clearer in the character's conflict. It just seems like a silly story otherwise trying to entertain an idea without any purpose.

Dawn got so caught up in trying to prove herself that she overlooked the simple solution. All she needed to say was “you believe me, don’t you?” and he would have been perfectly on board. But instead, she kept saying “you don’t believe me,” guaranteeing that he wouldn’t. Or she could have taken the even bigger (but potentially dangerous) route and said “my lies don’t change things.” And this also makes me wonder, is she the cause for the blue sunflowers and their weird fuckery, or are they on some level even above her?

I think this is the first story on the channel that really made me feel fear. Most of the time I just analyze the story (I'm a sucker for a good story), but I felt this story's emotion on a deep, primal level. It just sort of clicked, the idea of being so completely and utterly at the mercy of someone else. In most horror stories, there is always a sense that you can fight back, resist; every werewolf being weak against silver, every vampire powerless before the sun, whatever the nature of the horror, it can be fought. But this story is different, its horror isn't one that can be fought, the power to rewrite reality and history itself. The only thing stopping this horror is a traumatized mind straining against complete psychosis.

Okay so this can be solved rather easily, just ask the patient to lie about something that is *going* to happen and nobody else can know. It's hard to proof that she's telling the truth about her capability if your memory is affected every time, but if you tell her to lie about something like, "5 Minutes ago a butterfly fled in front of the next door and in 5 seconds it will pass in front of the window" with that test you would have a proof that doesn't affect your memory. I wonder what would happen if she lied and said her lies don’t change things. Would her ability stop working because she lied about it? But if that is the case then she would not be able to say her ability doesn’t work because, here ability no longer works to make that change.🤔 Also if she wants people to believe her could she not simply tell people a phrase along the lines of “you believe that my lies change things” to someone that doesn’t believe her. Wouldn’t that suddenly make the person she is talking to believe her? 🤔

If she actually wanted help and the lies she told were true, then why didn’t she just say “You believe that my lies can change the past”?

her repeating "no one believes me" makes everybody not believe her. She is caught in a paradox

20:38 I love that she can undo all of it so easily. (edit) I was hoping she'd do that, but I was afraid that her bleeding would kill her before she could undo it and it'll become real forever. The way I'd test it is to change my life for the better. List a few of my failures and turn them into victories. If she really does have those powers, might as well, right? I also believe that a great way to prove it would be like "until yesterday, you had your normal weight, but this morning you woke up with a 6 pack and a body like you've been working out diligently and with no injury for 10 years".
