Honestly, 2018 just got LOADS better. BTW the changing of the CFL's to LED bulbs.....I read this as "out with the old technology, in with the new" kinda like "Its been a while...." lol Literally, NileRed, NurdRage, ChemPlayer and the lot all just literally high-fived themselves LOL "Dougs Back!!"

I honestly prefer your style of videos over NurdRage, NileRed and others, because you also include sort of "practical things" - not only the chemical (theoretical) part, but also the actual lab work, tips/tricks for actually making the reactions (like the powder + funnel to keep seals airtight). I find that very interesting.

Glad to see you back, mate! There are only so many times a person can watch the same chem videos, over and over, before he or she goes completely NUTS! Look forward to seeing and hearing a bit more of you in the months and years to come.

I'm glad you're back. I strongly advise on scrubbing that rust from all those pipes and fixtures, adding anode protection and a nice, thick paint job. Also, ceramic tiling on the workbench, just like in real labs. Makes wonders.

Doug, now that you're back, can I make a request? One of the reasons I missed your videos so much is that you tend to offer much better explanations of the chemistry than any other KZfaqr. Could you make more videos with even further in-depth explanations of the mechanisms involves as opposed to just pretty shots of glassware like NileRed (as awesome as his videos are). I'd love it if your videos were explicitly targeted at education. And if you even laid out some of the pre-requisites, that build on each-other, like if you're hydrogenating something "if you don't know what hydrogenation is see [video link]". That way we could work backwards filling in the gaps we don't know. Basically a combination of NileRed + CrashCourse would be awesome and I think your existing format already sets itself up nicely to go here and ultimately be a lot more valuable to us who are learning.
