Crystal Cheatham was told by her church that she had the voice, an incredible gift of playing the guitar, the ability to lead a band, to write music, and to mentor children. But all that meant nothing to them because she's a "practicing homosexual."
(Lesbian | Christianity | Religion | Seventh Day Adventism) [TV-PG]
www.imfromdriftwood.com aims to help lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer people learn more about their community, straight people learn more about their neighbors and everyone learn more about themselves through the power of storytelling and storysharing.

You cannot be a lesbian and a follower of Christ. Holding on to ANY sin and essentially saying "This is who I am..deal with it" is not the Gospel. If one admits their sin and asks God for help to overcome God has victory for you. But you can't keep sin with you as though that is part of your identity IN Christ...God forbid...our sin cost Jesus His life and one dares to say it's okay to hold to? Dear soul, this is not what Scripture teaches.

@@haileybelle7700 Dear Soul, I only can say to you what Scripture tells us..look at James chapter 1. 13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: 14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. 15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. You admitted in your statement that your sin was still there...and so, even after wrestling with it and failing sin does not cease to be sin. We must choose by faith to deal with where we are and consider Scripture when we fail...knowing that God is able to deliver us. Don't try to change what sin is because of failure. Press on in faith that God has deliverance for you IN Christ Jesus. Obey one step at a time.

HOW DO YOU EXPLAIN THE Verses in the Bible the say this is not right. I believe that many things in the Bible were incorrectly translated. So we need to go back to the original languages. So it is possible to be in the process of sinning but in the process of becoming sanctified according to our understanding. I also believe that we live in a fallen state. So just as people are born with out arms or born blind or retardedso some people are born deformed sexually.

Yeah it’s not sitting well with me that Jesus said these discriminating words about people full stop. It’s not his way. I know people that have clearly been born gay, their families knew it from a toddler, a lot of times I can tell a man is gay just by looking at him. And one time I said a Chef at the hotel I worked at was gay, and later found out he was married with children, I still saw a gay man, over 20 years later guess what, he is a gay man living in a gay relationship - I’ve recently heard the bible has been changed, many times in the last few years, so what’s to say it wasn’t changed a lot in the last 2000 years, those condemning judgements added by those dominant controlling condemning men in Catholic or highly controlled churches? I just struggle to believe that God would create people who are clearly gay if he was against gays, it doesn’t make sense 🤔

It took me many years to come out not only openly but internally. I was so far in denial about being a lesbian because I was raised believing that if you were gay you were going to hell. And it got to the point where being gay was undeniable, and I strayed away from Christianity because I thought that my creator wouldn't love me. I came back to god a year or two ago, and I know my god still loves me, I'm still a lesbian but I'm also a Christian. It's nice to hear about others like me.

While Jesus had serious things to say about sin, He had a bigger issue with the Pharisees, and right now, you’re behaving like a Pharisee. You will know a TRUE Christian by their fruits. You are a phony, hiding behind religion to justify your hatred, when God says the fruits of a Christian are evident: peace, love, joy, goodness, gentleness, patience, kindness, self control, and faithfulness. Right now, you’re not showing any of those.

Rom. 4:5, "But to the one who does not work, but believes in Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is reckoned as righteousness," Rom. 5:1, "therefore having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ," Rom. 5:9, "Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him." Rom. 10:9-10, "that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved; 10for with the heart man believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. Gal. 2:16, "nevertheless knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the Law but through faith in Christ Jesus, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we may be justified by faith in Christ, and not by the works of the Law; since by the works of the Law shall no flesh be justified." @theRightizright After my encounter with God , honestly I really don’t care for surrounding my self with a romantic relationship on earth. I don’t I’m no shape or form go or walk in the labels of mankind I now walk in the light of my savior and striving to continue to please and walk into his likeness. I will also point for me I am not going around in my lifetime seeking interactions with human beings because it’s fun no matter what society may paint. I find delight in the lord and he brings me joy whether I’m single or not. I can and only hoping with a faith, work and humbleness before him that I will indeed please him on judgment day. As you too should be thinking about. Lol we often times make statements passing them to others based off where we think we are in Christ. Anyways I fell in love with a female as a female but that’s not my life. My aim is focusing on marriage with Christ because if my spouse , family or friends leave he’s there. I don’t quite know what kingdom marriage is but I’m going to read up about it . If you know you can relay it to me here. I am more that who I’m surrounded by before I accepted Christ as my savior and he told me who I am. I believe God gives me the words to say just like you believe that or I assume you believe that. It makes me anxious to say things in the comments section but glory to God it was to be said. Next I was blessed by your words I’m jumping or defending a side ; I’m just giving opinion and writing the words coming in my thoughts. I don’t know why I said all that but brother or sister be encouraged and who needs to be saved will be saved. I didn’t disagree with her testimony or story because someone needed to hear it too. +Kats987124 It's even obvious that the book has been rewritten several times but these christian have such a hard time believing it. In the bible it says "For I testify unto everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book, if anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book; And if anyone takes away from the words of this book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, and from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book." Then it also says "nothing under the sun is new in the eyes of God". So basically he knew that the bible would be rewritten and things in it will be altered which is why the verse is in there. These Christians seem to skip past that part. They don't even know what the bible said or didn't say.

swalker0731 First, you need to calm down. Using all caps makes you seem like a religious freak. Stop acting like it is so bad for someone to be gay. The Bible detests gossip, slander, gluttony, drunkenness, envy, pride, self righteousness, laziness, complaining, being unforgiving, greed, materialism, fornication, the list goes on. Jesus died for everyone. Don’t think for a second that any of your works or “turning from sin” gets you into heaven. We are saved in the basis of faith. For it is by grace you are saved through faith. That’s it! THEN, we are called to a holy life and God chastens us if we refuse to obey, but anyone who has put their trust in Christ is not going to hell.

Thank you for sharing your testimony, it takes a lot of courage for you to say it in front of millions of people. I know because of this you or anyone else in the same situation might be criticizing you, but I want you to know that God still loves you. People judges from the outside but God looks at the heart. I remember I used to be the type of christians that feared or condemned people that was a homosexual; that all changes when I had those same feeling of the same sex out of nowhere. I didn't understand because all my life I've been always dating guys until I met this one girl that wanted to make me change my mind. The emotions that we experience in the flesh it's something we can't control, it's only the spirit of God that can deliver you. Love is love and sometimes it's directed in places that we don't expect to happen, I Know that the Bible speak against homosexuality and I know that God created us male and female; we cannot denied the truth of God. At the same time, God rather that we come to him with an honest heart, just as we are, he wants us to have our own experience with him. Trying to hide or suppress those desires is not going to help, it's best that we humble ourselves and allow him to do the transformation in his own timing. In the meanwhile, continue to pursue your relationship with Jesus, continue to love others ,continue to ask him to help you in all areas of your life and watch him do great things in your life. God bless you my sister.

@Melvin whitehead But being gay and loving someone of the same sex isn't necessarily a specific type of lifestyle. If you're talking about the stereotypical lifestyle of drugs, promiscuity, drama, then that's all found among heterosxeual people as well and we should all distance ourselves from it for our mental health.

You're not living a lie to God because He knows everything you do already, and is always guiding you in your head. The church community is not God, they are just other people like you. Those people cannot help you or save your soul as God can, they can only assist or desist you on your path to Him. You do not have to prove anything to church people or non-church people, and I think most of us get tripped up in this. We feel alone or alienated from these people and feel like we alone cannot be as close to God as we could be, and that some other person out there is going to validate our spiritual identity. They're not, only you can.

Been gay itself its not the worst part but sleeping around without married AND sleeping with the same sex, married or not married its the sin. And sin lead to death / hell. God words. God greated man and woman. Adam and eve. I belive in.god but doing your own thing or belive in.god, following god/ jesus? Try god to set you free, try to ger jesus in your life, bow down and tell him iam ready to let go of myself and be born.again, and natural things thata shall not be there just go away, u are a new person, want diffrent thins:) wuthout been born in spirit and water u cant follow god, u can try to follow the bible but dont work.:) its all about faith:)

You have to exercise your faith by doing good work, not by living a sinful life. As Christians, sometime we done terrible stuff, the important thing is that, we acknowledge what we are doing is wong and ask God for repentance. We don’t want going around in a circle and use the excuse God will forgive me because everyone are sinners. I do believe in the Bible it said male to male intercourses is wong in multiple verse. @Tansy Thomson Awfully sad but true. :( I thought I was suppose to forcefully turn myself away from God, but then I talked to Him about my sexuality, (Biflexible: Mainly Bi but into other genders too.) and a gut feeling told me to look up scriptures of God's love. I knew it was Him because I felt His presence. I cried in the feeling of being loved and accepted, and since then, me and Him have been getting tighter than EVER!! He's open whenever you need Him. People don't wanna accept that part of God and they tend to want to take role of "God" too, or least wanna act like the old testament God when he condemned homosexuality and before He brought Jesus down to pay for our sins. God after Jesus paid for our sins is eternally loving, graceful, kind, and doesn't talk about homosexuality. Nothing will ever turn us away from God if we repent from the bad things we do (the "bad things" does not include loving people. God made love, so loving people shouldn't be bad whatsoever. Whether being part of the lgbtg+ community or not. 🙄)

Life is like a house fire. Many people don’t understand that when we are trapped inside, we physically can’t save ourselves. We keep running into sin( fire) no matter where we go. All you have to do is call out to Jesus and He saves you, based not on what you have done, but in His own mercy! It’s Man says it’s more complicated than that. It’s man that says you have to be perfect on your own.

Providing a few references from both Old and New Testament - Christians are to condemn homosexuality: Noah and Ham (Genesis 9:20-27), Sodom and Gomorrah (Genesis 19:1-11), Levitical laws condemning same-sex relationships (Leviticus 18:22, 20:13), two words in two Second Testament vice lists (1 Corinthians 6:9-10; 1 Timothy 1:10), and Paul's letter to the Romans (Romans 1:26-27). Describing rape or attempted rape (Genesis 9:20-27, 19:1-11), Cultic prostitution (Leviticus 18:22, 20:13), male prostitution and pederasty (1 Corinthians 6:9-10; 1 Timothy 1:10), and the Isis cult in Rome (Romans 1:26-27). Alright, be personally Christian and embody its greater ideals, and maybe find some more gay-affirming churches, but don't be surprised at this; the early church(es) and the pre-church monotheistic religions were both highly anti-homosexual. Jesus himself however (Yeshua, etc, whatever), from the highly vague writings of him, if he existed, seemed to have at least some tolerance for homosexuals though, if you read into certain translations - but even this was a tolerance, not acceptance or welcoming as full equals, but more of a "hey they do this, let them do that, that's their thing" attitude. I don't see much to admire here. But maybe this is where 'what would Jesus do' might apply - maybe if he was here, he'd accept and promote full equality for homosexuals. Or, as most religious seem to think, he'd do the opposite, and at least condemn any attempts for homosexuals to marry, for example. In the end, even after experience in several types of churches (Catholic, various Protestant), I can't give much of a crap. But I hope you have a positive journey, wherever your spiritual beliefs take you.

I typed in 'Christian lesbians' and this was the first channel that popped up. You are great, but the letters LGBTQ etc,. have long reminded me of something like Jewish-Nazi-Islamic-Atheist-Agnostic, or some incomprehensible disjunct unrelated attempt to combine minority groups to oppose male-female couples, who, BTW, are essential to having people in the first place. To lump gay and lesbian together is something like Germany and Japan in WWII. The alliance is NOT based upon any common ground of attraction at at all (Hitler's master race wasn't Oriental), but rather a mutual enemy. This is no basis for an alliance based upon attraction, and Hitler's motives towards Japan were strictly for the convenience of conquering the allies before conquering the Emperor of Japan, who presented himself as a deity. No way would "The Furher" have long tolerated a "God" on the throne in the East had he defeated the allies. Obviously gay means not attracted to women and lesbian means not attracted to men. Thus the wording of the legislation "same sex marriage" may sound good in a democracy based upon "equality," but socially it translates to absolute patriarchy, and all we have to do to see this is to examine the results in America: Men may claim female identity without even shaving their beards, marry each other and adopt children and use women mechanically as vessels for their seed, maul women in sports, and invade their restrooms. What did women get? Women lost full legal title to their own bodies, and men may dress in drag and "twerk" in front of their toddlers. No wonder Christian women don't consider themselves to be "feminists." But isn't this a bit backwards? Suppose for a minute that feminism had ACTUALLY been about WOMEN. Lesbians are women too, and even if women don't want penises, women can still have maternal instincts. Had radical feminism recognized this, the legislation might have been for lesbian adoption rights instead of the attempt to erase gender, which amounted to an official denial of the existence of both the form and the function of women. You are a beautiful woman. If you want to have children with another woman, that simply adds another maternal babysitter to the mix. The female pedophile is myth created by a fantasy genderless society out of a handful of supermodel school teachers and excitable teen boys. The pedophile is male. In fact there is a male organization specifically dedicated to molesting boys: NAMBLA (North American Man-Boy Love Association) I have never seen an organization for lesbians recruiting under-aged girls, because it doesn't exist. Women are mothers, men aren't Some lesbians actually recognize that LGBTQ isn't feminism. Arielle Scarcella is such a KZfaqr. St. Paul is often vilified as being a misogynist. True, he does not appear to be attracted to women, and often not sympathetic to them, but he never suggested they didn't have value as mothers. The idea that children are as well served by two men as by a mother is a misogynist idea. The idea that gender doesn't exist is a denial of female purpose in nature. There is nothing in Christianity to suggest that women don't exist. The erasure of female form and function is the bottom line of LGBTQ dogma. But don't let anyone tell you Paul wasn't inclusive. He invited the eunuchs to Jesus. The Catholic church became a refuge to people who didn't want to be married to the opposite sex, and it kept the procreating and child raising culture separate from the deviant culture. Yes, a Christian lesbian feminist movement would be a good thing, but NOT an LGBTQ thing. LGBTQ has NOT been good for women.

I understand it is somewhat the same language. This us my body and you can't tell me what do with it. That's what the women say when they have an abortion. I can still be a Christian. It is your choice. I have yet to see anyone to be able have both God and open sin in their lives. But I think you have never really relieved God's love in your life. We all seek out love. But it is God who we really are seeking. I have lost interest in churches but not my Heavenly Father. Jesus condemned sin as should all believers and not cherry pick because they just happen to be enjoying that particular sin themselves. We have open nudity on television not to mention internet. We have too much sexual perversion in this country. There is little or no shame of it. Sex should be done in the privacy of a marriage not out in the open. This country needs a change of heart. You should ask God for the true love you seek. Jesus loves but won't go against Himself and accept our sins. God created male and female. That's it. Nothing more. It is best to ask God what is His best for your life. Instead of just making a move and hoping you end up happy. When you live for Jesus you must die to self and take up the cross. He gave up all to save us and He expects the same from us. It isn't a matter of convenience. It is a matter of conviction.

Its more to do with biblical doctrine rather than sexual identity. The entire lgtbqt.... community is so hung up on sex they can't see ANYTHING else. Its all about sex, and when Jesus arrives He will make all things clear. But when you choose sex over the Word of God you are not choosing God. No two ways about it. Why can't you just be single? Is self so important......I've been a single mother since I was seventeen years old, toured, recorded, all the stuff, and never married, not because I'm lesbian, but because God never opened the "marriage door" for me. That doesn't mean I get to go around having sex with everyone.....my goodness. The whole gay "Christian" community seems to have no self respect or respect for God. Its either your way, or the highway, I guess. It's really hard to respect someone like you. Blaming a few people from a church so you can have sex with same sex people is pathetic. Leave the church OUT of your "testimony", it makes you look ignorant and weak.

No, I will tell what is really nasty. The bible. You see it says it's fine to own slaves, to rape them, and even instructs slaves how to behave even if their masters are evil. It also says it's okay to have your daughter's raped. Things like that. You know what else is nasty? The history of religion. Genocides, burning people alive for disagreeing with priests, gay bashing, things like that. And what is also nasty is people who believe they can be the biggest meanest idiots on the planet, and if they say things like "amen" and pray to their sky daddy, all will be forgiven. This one thing has caused more damage to gay people than anything I can think of. KZfaq has a comment section. I commented. Get over it.

Crystal, that Seventh Day Adventist pastor was NOT a Christian pastor. ANY person who allows church doctrine to separate him from another person is no follower of Jesus. I personally follow Jesus but am not a part of any organized religion for that very reason. Thanks, Crystal, for what you do and who you are..............Ray
@jimisru

okimlistening2u Actually that's not true. The bible is full of stories supporting rape, murder, incest, slavery, and separation of people from each other based on religion, gender and status in society. The New Testament is no better. Look it up. There is a difference between what you wish your religion was about and what your holy book teaches. Further, the history of your church is all about separation. It's about genocide and abuse. There are over 45000 denominations and thousands of versions of the bible. It's all about exclusion and bigotry. So, he was indeed a Christian pastor. He was following a long tradition of his religion to the letter.

James, I agree with you. I was talking about what Jesus actually said which is OPPOSITE what organized religions say he said and did. I have NO doubt that Jesus would not be a member of any Christian organized religion today. There a HUGE difference between being a Jesus-follower and being a member of a Christian religion. The two have barely anything in common. Jesus gets a bad rap because of organized Christian religions. So much in the New Testament about Jesus has been added over the centuries to make a point that some bishop or pope wanted to make but was never said or done by the person Jesus. According to the Jesus Seminar, a group of NT experts from throughout the world. only 15% of the NT relating to Jesus is authentic. The rest has been added by others throughout the ages. Thanks, bro, for your comment............Ray

I don't get it. So why obsess over Jesus? Why not read some other book? Since this one dude has caused so many horrendous murders and abuses, why do you insist that this fictional person was good? How do you know what Jesus said? It's highly likely he never existed, and further there is no evidence that he wrote anything down. Meanwhile it's very likely that at this very moment someone is being killed because they still believe this guy told them to do it. You do know that the Jesus myth is exactly the same as many other myths from that region? Horus, Dionysius, Krishna, Mithra. It's all the same story. But for some reason people think THEIR Jesus is good and true. It makes no sense. It's time to stop because too many people have gotten hurt. Also you don't need this in your life. It's like smoking. It's hard to quit but when you do you will feel so much better.

Thanks, James, I do hear you. For what it's worth [which you may say is not much], I have an advanced degree in the Humanities and decades of practicing counseling with young people [those under 30]. I am aware from my studies, of everything you say here. There is a specialized field of study called 'exegesis' which focuses on writings from ancestral times. That is how we know that a person named Jesus did exist and we have some idea of what he authentically said and taught. As I said before, not much of what the Bible contains about him is authentic and reliable. But we do know somethings. Just as I read what is reliable about the sayings of Jesus, so too do I read about the Buddha, and about Mohammad. From my life experience and from my studies, I believe that some rare individuals have some power of communication with Divinity. We call that communication 'Wisdom'. But dude, that's just me; each of us must follow our own path in a search for truth. Thanks, bro.......Ray
@jimisru
@jimisru 8 жыл бұрын
There is no such thing as a document written by Jesus. Exegesis will inevitably lean toward the personal emphasis of its author, and within any commentaries there may be great variety in the depth, accuracy, and critical or theological strength of each volume. Thus there are thousands of versions of the bible, with more being published each day. There is no historical record of Jesus from that time, at all. There are no physical records of him existing from that time nor any other time. Stories about Jesus are a replica of myths from previous times and cultures. No one is in touch with "the Divine" because such a thing does not exist. You say it does? Okay you show me The Divine. And I don't mean a John Waters movie. The proof is up to you since you are the one making the claim that it exists. You say Jesus existed. Okay show me historical proof that he did. The bible is not historical proof of anything. You might as well hand me a copy of Harry Potter and say, yes, he really did exist. But mostly, what do you get out of this? What benefit derives from furthering this cause?

My advice to fellow LGBTQ : I do not support progressive Christianity as a sin is a sin and that we are all sinners and only GOD JESUS CHRIST AND HIS HOLY SPIRIT can forgive our sins and Iniquities by HIS LOVE, GRACE AND MERCY AND HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS AND KJV BIBLE GUIDELINES. Nothing upon our self righteousness or any form of self human manuel works or deeds can remove or pardon our sins and Iniquities. And to be changed and renewed by HIS HOLY SPIRIT as such we do not want to sin consciously anymore. Homosexuality is a sin and I acknowledge that as a lesbian. Anyone who looks upon another lustfully is sinful adultery or cohabitation before sanctity of marriage and that many heterosexuals practice which many tend to contradict as there are those who are homophobic. So best that as LGBTQ Christians that we be mindful and respecful as not to practice promiscuity, polygamy and celibacy before marital marriage unions.. All humans be one hetero or homosexual LGBTQ are not perfect as we were born sinners and have our weaknesses and some have addictions and codependency excess spiritual baggage shortcomings to be removed as all have our personal journey in GOD JESUS CHRIST by surrendering upon Repentance and that Faith that only GOD JESUS CHRIST is our only true SAVIOUR AND CREATOR and the KJV BIBLE is the best living guidebook. Pray in GOD JESUS CHRIST to be protected against spiritual warfares too. There are many apostate churches with false spirits and lying wonders like speaking in pagan tongues glassalonia Oracles of Delphi, slain in the spirit, holy laughter, prosperity laws of attraction, yoga, kundalini, psychic fortune telling, tarot cards, mediums, wizardry Sorcery (Pharmakeia Pharmaceutical), etc. Never worship mere mortals religious leaders or mary fatimah, repetitious prayers like rosaries, necromancy of mere mortal dead saints, Ref : KJV BIBLE

@@Gfd827 Romans 1:25-28, 1 Timothy 8-11, are just a few in the New Testament. In several other places like (Jude 1:7,) it is described as sexual immorality. Sexual immorality was clearly spelled out in the Old Testament and included homosexuality, fornication, adultery, and bestiality. A theologian would most certainly know this. The Bible also says that if we don't tell someone of their error, we will be accountable for it. You are free to live as you wish. But please don't mislead others into thinking the Bible doesn't consider it sinful.

So what you and a lot of the commenters are saying is: "I love God, but I'm not willing to obey His commandants." A person can be tempted, but he doesn't have to indulge. And he won't indulge, if he puts God first in his life. We cannot make up our own rules; God demands obedience, and holiness.

People like you are the very reason why most of us walk away or worse commit suicide. A lot of blood is on your hands. The bible states to not be a stumbling block and so you have violated the bible. You also violate Matthew 7:1 when it states Thou shalt not judge for the way you judge you too shalt be judged. If you eat seafood you have sinned. If you eat from 2 different foods in the same garden you have sinned. If you don't have tassles on your clothes you have sinned. If you have had sex while having your period you have sinned. Those things are an abomination and deserve hell. Ye without sin cast the 1st stone. Before you pluck the speck out of my eye pull the plank out of your eye. You ma'am are a hypocrite. I didn't wake up and decide I'm a woman or a lesbian but you decided to hate and be a bigot. You are not be Christ like who is the example of God which is loving. You are the one who needs to repent unlike my LGBTQ and trans communities. Get away from me I never knew you is what Jesus will say to you on judgment.

smclindsey What is holiness to you? Is your idea of holiness “trying not to sin and repenting of it”? Because the Bible says holiness is perfection. A person who is truly saved gets their holiness from Jesus Christ, not by their own works of the law which are as filthy rags. God is a God of grace. Do you think you could easily commit to a life of loneliness? That’s a pretty high standard. Not justifying sin, but I really don’t think most of you have the ability to grasp just how hard of a walk that is.
