2:23 There’s a typo here in the example sentence. In that case, 같이 is supposed to stick together with a noun :) 같이 means “together” or "with" when it’s used by itself. But just like this case, when it’s used with a noun, (Noun + 같이) it means “like that noun”. It’s a particle used to indicate that there are similar characteristics to the noun. For example, if you say "호랑이같이" 무서운 선생님, it means a scary(tough) teacher “like a tiger” Also, if you say "얼음장같이" 차가운 방바닥, it means a cold floor "like a layer of ice" = The floor is freezing cold Therefore, because of its function, there are certain expressions normally used with -같이. e.g. * 매일같이 : (Lit.) Like everyday = Almost everyday - 민지는 매일같이 지각을 해요 : (Lit.) Minji is late like everyday = Minji is late almost everyday * 불같이 = Like fire - 민지가 불같이 화를 냈어요 = (Lit.) Minji got angry like fire = Minji blazed up, Minji was really mad * 그림같이 : Like a picture - 그림같이 아름다운 풍경 : A beautiful scenery like a picture, A picturesque scenery

싱가포르에서 안녕하세요 선생님! 수고하셨습니다! ㅎㅎ 질문이 있습니다. 예문에서 초콜릿하고 같이는 왜 띄어썼어요? 띄어쓰면 together이나 with이라는 뜻 아니에요? 아니면 똑같아요? 감사합니다!

Oops. So sorry. It’s typo. In that case, 같이 is supposed to stick together with a noun. Thanks for your question! Yes, like you said 같이 means “together” or "with" when it’s used by itself. But when it’s used with a noun, (Noun + 같이) it means like “like that noun”. It’s a particle used to indicate that there are similar characteristics to the noun. It means like “Like a particular characteristic of that noun” For example, if you say "호랑이같이" 무서운 선생님, it means a scary(tough) teacher “like a tiger” Also, if you say "얼음장같이" 차가운 방바닥, it means a cold floor "like a layer of ice" = The floor is freezing cold Therefore, because of its function, there are certain expressions normally used with -같이. e.g. * 매일같이 : (Lit.)
