Your further comments have been brought to my attention. I have not looked at the entire video and don't have either the time or inclination to do so. For the 6 minutes and 33 seconds that I have endured looking at your self-serving and manipulative comments, you have neglected to point out that my objection was to the defamatory, inflammatory and untrue assertion contained in the title of your video , which you have been wise enough not to repeat. You are obviously clever and talented but also adept at presenting yourself as a victim when you brazenly lie about people and make untrue accusations, patently to increase your following. Your conduct throughout has been dishonourable and I'd suggest you look to your conscience, if you have one. As for your assertion that you didn't have the time to act upon your commitment to remove the defamatory posting, my technical people inform me that you were indeed keeping abreast of the situation and were therefore able to remove it, but failed to do so in as timely a manner as was required. I have treated you throughout with a degree of consideration that you have neither deserved nor reciprocated - I will remind you that you took care to acknowledge how generously I had treated you - and my final word to you, as someone who is old enough to be your mother and maybe even your grandmother, is: You are bright and gifted enough to develop a successful career without resorting to the deviousness, manipulativeness, and ultimate dishonesty which you are displaying as you try to present yourself as my victim when you and I both know that you are the one who lied. It will be interesting to see if you keep this comment posted or if you will display the manipulative skills you have hitherto demonstrated by continuing to flip things.

But give Credit where credit is due she took on a different persona after her divorce and with all the tuition on how to walk and speak and dress with style she had it all. But that would never have been seen if P Charles had not married her. It was all the other men she flirted and had affairs with who gave her the confidence to show she could strike it with the best, and she did. @valgardener7656. Yes, I witnessed that the original video was titled "This is a huge lie" along side 3 alarms. Cheere put the video in "private" long enough to edit the title to try and hoodwink the viewers. Very sneeky to say the least. I'm coming from a place of being a fan from the early days, when CD reviewed Spare and later on I shed a tear with Cheere when she opened up about her mother. I actually shed a tear! Here's my perspective. I've worked in the publishing world and know a bit about copyright. I also know that another small channel - that dealt with similar material by another author -was required by that author or their publisher to remove all their content related to that book. One reason I started watching your channel is that you seemed to have so much content like this - that divulges a great deal of the content and is essentially a "read with me" with opinions and commentary added - that I assumed you'd gotten permission from the copyright holders or had already thoroughly explored your options in respect of copyright. The fact that other authors and publishers haven't come after you before and have even been supportive seems to be down to good will, good luck and appreciation for the publicity. Publishers and authors have a strong case against channels such as yours, that rely so heavily on their content and divulge so much of it. In some cases, the author is fine with it but the publisher is not or vice versa. You've been fortunate so far and have also likely enjoyed some leeway because you are such a small channel. I think for the passage and video in question, if you had read the passage, shown the video and merely commented, "There seems to be some additional perspective added here by the author." or "OK." with raised eyebrows or "I don't know. That video seems a bit different to me," you would have been fine. Once you make assertions of lying, fabrication, attack someone's reputation or assert that one divergence must mean a broad spectrum loss of confidence, and start making a fuss about it, you wander into territory that can get you in (and has gotten you) trouble, especially given the amount of content the copyright holder has been allowing you to utilize. It can help to ask yourself if you would want one lapse on your part to be used to discredit your work or approach in its entirety. Added to this, you have made other unfavorable comments about the author and copyright holder. Just from a common sense point of view, this generally doesn't predispose people to giving a pass, even though they have, up until now. Whenever dealing with the amount of copyrighted material that you do, even though you are using it for commentary purposes and are a small channel, you are doing so only with the permission or goodwill of the copyright holders and that needs to be remembered at all times. If you have reservations or unfavorable opinions related to any copyright holder, it's best to couch them in measured terms, downplay them or, as I've seen on another channel that is somewhat similar but uses much less of the material and only explores books that are out of print to avoid breaching copyright, do extra research and actively explore alternative reasons for any discrepancies. For example, "Now, I've seen the video and I'll show it to you,. It's a bit different from this description. My guess is that there's added colour and some artistic licence taken here based on other information that the author had. I can also see from news reports at the time that her upstaging him was the consensus at the time." Understand that any copyright holder can also change their mind at any time and ask you to remove material that you currently have up. This can also mean that an author, who is supportive, can be overruled by the legal team of a publisher who require it to be removed. Situations can also change and if a contract is signed for film rights or an audiobook with official commentary, that contract may put your treatment of the material out of bounds and you may be asked to remove it at that point. Another way to protect yourself is to quote and refer to the material far less than you do so that you don't divulge so much of the actual content. Note that all channels that include copyrighted material also have similar issues that they need to work around. I know of one channel that examines songs. The creator usually chooses songs and videos he likes and to avoid copyright issues, shows clips of videos that are no longer than about 10-12 seconds and skips bits so that it's impossible for someone to hear the whole song through. There's another channel that analyzes singing and it has to put the video of the song in darkness in the background with technical analysis over top and interrupt the clip often to avoid breaching copyright. Another channel has enormous (but not total) artist and record company support for most of his videos examining songs because he only chooses songs he loves and he goes into fine detail explaining why the song is great. So, these are all things to bear in mind. Love your Diana impression. :)

Very interesting comment! Thank you for this wealth of information. It’s interesting to learn of the necessity for understated ways of questioning an author’s interpretation. I had assumed Cheere had permission to use so much content for publicity purposes and that Campbell was fine with it for that reason. I had just recently found Cheere’s channel and was so much enjoying this book and Cheere’s bringing it to life that I was ready to purchase other books by Campbell. The following are general and rhetorical observations and questions, not necessarily addressed to the poster. (Please note I’m unfamiliar with titles and therefore refer to the author’s last name as in reviews or academic discourse. I intend no disrespect by referring to the author’s last name alone). I can understand an author making contact to object to copyright infringement or respond to the differing interpretation of a scene. My opinion has entirely changed on purchasing more of her books, though, because 1) I understood Campbell to say she uses figures of speech as in atmosphere, etc. (is that perhaps more suggestive of a fictional presentation?) and 2) the (in my opinion) ad hominem attacks in what looked like a frenzied series of public comments. Campbell spoke of Cheere’s youth but rather than extend any charity based upon that youth (imo) deployed the observation with (imo) condescension and condemnation, accusing Cheere in turn of excessive ambition and self-aggrandizement. By pronouncing on motives she can’t possibly know, does not Campbell (perhaps inadvertently) repeat the very methodology under question in the specific scene? Surely, there must be conventional, accepted ways for authors to intervene when perceiving their veracity questioned or copyright infringed. Presumably an author would wish to strengthen the impression of careful weighing of evidence and use of good judgment. In my opinion, Campbell in her replies to Cheere has done the opposite, demonstrating a propensity to leap to conclusions and exercise poor judgment by unleashing ad hominem vitriol repetitively and publicly. IMO Campbell showed herself in her public posts to be an author not at all in command of herself or her evidence. These are my subjective opinions based on the replies Campbell directed to Cheere publicly.

Thank you; I’m aware of all of this which is why I never fought Lady C in her desire for content to be taken down and promptly removed the videos. Her issue was never copyright infringement, rather the exposure of unreliable material in the book. But she made it about copyright infringement to punish me for having an opinion. She can’t sue me for having an opinion, but if she didn’t like how much of her book I shared and wanted to come after me for that, I can certainly understand that perspective. She lost a lot of free publicity and people were buying a 25 year old book of hers to read along so it’s ultimately her loss but if she just didn’t LIKE me and didn’t want me reading her book, that’s her right!

There was a graceful way to handle the issue, there were two of them actually. She chose option 3 and made herself look awful in the process.
@m.h.64992 ай бұрын
Agree with this. I feel there were multiple ways to handle this with more elegance and class and dare I say maturity, but that’s my subjective opinion. I’m frankly just gobsmacked that she revealed herself in posts at once so vitriolic and so public.
@nellsun25212 ай бұрын
Yep. The fact she didn't merely explain *why* we were wrong and instead resorted to Sussex-style bullying tells us all we need to know.
@wf47582 ай бұрын
Possibly because her reputation was impuned. She was called a liar, and Cheere did over-egg it, calling everymthing she has written into question. I'd be .pretty touchy too if my professional reputation was impuned.

IMO Lady C had a HUGE overreaction, not to mention those condescending comments were totally unnecessary and showed a tremendous lack of class. She also made a boatload of assumptions about you and your character which is ironic considering she considers herself to be so upper crust. She really comes across poorly in this matter.

I posted this message on the previous video and just finished watching this one. So I just wanted to reiterate what I previously posted. Hang in there! ❤ This is exactly why I unsubscribed from @LadyColinCampbellKZfaq channel! She is mean and a bully!!! Those messages were written by a spiteful and vengeful person. My Cheere, I can tell your feelings were hurt and it’s okay to be hurt but you are better than her! You are a TEACHER that’s helping young people to be something in life and that takes a special kind of person! You are not a gossiper repeating second hand stories like her. What a sad old woman with no purpose or legacy but to sit on a couch gossiping with her dogs! The video you showed told the truth and I believe you. You did nothing wrong. My friend, teachers are in the same class as doctors, nurses, firefighters, police officers, etc. you all are special and courageous people! Brush off those tears and vile person. On Monday morning, hold your head up and strut like Naomi Campbell down your hallway into your classroom, to the lunchroom, to the teachers lounge, and then to your car! We got you Cheere! Blessings.

I am also sorry you were treated so poorly. You reasonably questioned Lady C’a interpretation of the events of that day based on a video clip. I also looked for a clip, and was only able to find the material you included, which did not appear to accurately reflect what Lady C had written. I agree with Lady C’s assertion that Diana wanted to undermine Charles but let’s be honest, the video didn’t support the entirety of Lady C’s narrative. Thank you for sharing what happened. Her response was disrespectful to you and reflects very poorly on Lady C. Please don’t let this sickening turn of events ruin your future reviews. Your work is excellent and greatly appreciated! My life was recently upended and I look forward to hearing your channel for an escape from my own pesky troubles. Lady C rudely interrupted us both! ❤❤❤

I'm from the UK and Iloathe how people treat Campbell seriously. She has absolutely no access, she is a grifter who has traded on a long ago short marriage from which she retained her 'title'. She is a liar and a nasty, vicious person. I wish people would see through her.

Lady C had every right to be angry and respond to you in the manner in which she did. You thought that you were doing your “due diligence” in finding the clip of Charles and Diana, which was in fact heavily edited. Unfortunately, based on that clip, you then went on to question Lady C’s integrity, and the truth in all of her writings. I’m from England, and a couple of years younger than Lady C, but remember that episode vividly, and saw it in its unedited version. Diana’s behaviour was extremely childish, and her faux shyness a cunning ploy which she used many times. Charles was undermined and crushed on many occasions, including this one, because Diana craved and sought out the limelight. You’re too young to know a lot of history first hand, and the Internet great as it is, isn’t the font of all knowledge, whereas, you have Lady C with her encyclopaedic knowledge and memory giving you information which you chose to disbelieve. I found the spat to be sad indeed, and it did neither of you any favours, but hopefully, in the future you won’t rely on dodgy info before casting aspersions on someone who has actual knowledge on a subject.

@branna3606 she lied about why she disgracefully announced the Queens death before the Palace or the BBC. It was a ridiculous lie that her followers accepted when any fool could see she was just groping in the dark for a reason. It was such a shock when she did it. No care for the people who adored the Queen who had been forewarned. We expected an interruption in programmes, I had the telly on, a sombre newsreader, but Lady C just jumped in with glee with the title of her video in capitals THE QUEEN DIES! Nasty.

Cheere Denise called Lady C a liar, publicly, for extremely weak reasons. THAT was an over-reaction. Lady C does not lose her right to stand up for herself just because you don't like her. Right and wrong don't change according to whom we like best. This isn't middle school. Sure, it would have been nice if Lady C had graciously explained why CD was wrong and given her a list of alternate sources proving her point with a kind little pat on the head. But by the same token, it would have been even nicer if CD had the common sense to refrain from unsubstantiated accusations in the first place. All she had to do was say "I'm really puzzled by the way this clip doesn't match Lady C's description" and loyal and knowledgeable viewers would probably have answered the question for her. She chose instead to come out swinging with "This is a LIE!". So Lady C swung back. I'm sorry it happened, but the blame is on the person who swung first, not the person who didn't respond graciously to being swung at.
