I'm not sure what to call this contraption! Closed Transfer Keg Injector thingy....

A quick little tutorial on how to use simple gas jumper line and a carbonation cap to inject liquid into a full pressurised keg without having to open it or expose it to air/oxygen. Great for using a closed transfer to add fining agents, oxygen scavengers, hop tea/extracts and colour adjustments once the beer is already transferred to a keg. Let me know what you think in the comments cheers!

Been doing this for a while works really well. I just added a little tubing to the cap that reached the bottom of the pet bottle so all the liquid is extracted.

Great video. I’ve used this technique today to add coffee to an Imperial stout that I wasn’t that happy with 🍻

Been there done that - and it works! But i used a tube from the carbonation cap down to "the corner" of the bottle and everything went down! 😄 For sure a good method and nice of you to spread knowledge about things like this!

I literally said to myself, why would you want to that 1 second before you said it in the video. Actually quite a clever hack, I don't use finnings very often but a good idea for the times I do.

This is simultaneously genius and actually pretty obvious once you've seen it :D And since i'm moving to keg fermentation this is also quite useful :p

Cheers, it's realy simple and obvious, but never thought about it before... like the idea of adding a hop tea via this method, might try that one day if a beer needs that extra kick.

I use a stainless steel carb cap, with the centre stem barb removed, so I can push out all the liquid.

You could either add a pickup tube so you can better purge air from bottom to top? Also, sacrifice one of the carb caps and shorten the barb to leave less solution behind? Cheers

If you use a t-piece and 2 caps you can use that to help flush the line. I have been trying this with isinglass but it can clog . How long does the gelatin take to clear? Do you agitate the fermenter? Cheers

I'll usually give the keg a gentle swirl just to distribute the solution a bit, gelatin can be pretty quick like 2-3 days but obviously depends on the beer you are trying to clarify. You will get 1 or 2 murky pints out at first as well

I was just thinking about this, and then your video popped up! Loving your work. What quantities do you use when you're making up your gelatine solution?

Genius - been using syringes filled to try minimise oxygen and de-gassing keg, then burping - but this is even better guaranteed - did you flush the jumper cables first tricky ?
