I love the picture quality of my X-T4 - my first Fuji! It really has more of a film look and less digital. So far am very happy with it!

Thanks for a great honest review! I used to have an a6300. The image quality and AF were very good, but I needed 10-bit 4K60p with IBIS in an affordable package, and so I switched to Fuji X-T4 and I really love it! The AF is not the best, but I use AF in only 5% of my footage, and I believe Fuji will improve it. The a7sIII would be the "perfect camera", but for me it is just too expensive.

I hear ya! Both systems have their pro and cons, price being one of those things. It’s all about finding the tool that works for you in your budget!

Spot on, Terry. I’m a “Fuji for pleasure, Sony for work” kinda guy. Fuji’s video AF just needs one more generation, I think. Now, if you want to see some magic, check out their medium format stuff.

Nice review man! I like how you sound still positive or humble against a negative thing you find on the camera especially when you're comparing its specs to sony like yeah okay, unlike other youtubers who mock other camera brands just because they aren't used to using it or don't know how to use it. You know who I'm talking about lol.

Great thoughts Terry! I shoot sony, but Fuji has interested me. For me it seems the one main downside of Sony is the color at times, and the one main strength of Fuji is the color... but it’s not enough to make the switch. Especially because sony can still look INCREDIBLE when you color grade it... and it gives you more flexibility anyways haha. Thanks for sharing, appreciate your insight!

Great video! I'm a huge fan of your channel. I shoot Sony and Fuji (I will say the sony gear has stayed on the shelf a lot lately). Autofocus, we know Sony is the king for autofocus. the new Fuji cameras are fast for AF. The issue are the lenses. The 16mm you have is my favorite lens from Fuji, but it's a focus by wire lens as is 80% of fuji lenses. great for photography, but loud, noisy and just not great for video. The newer lenses have linear motors in them like Sony and other companies. fast quiet and accurate. These are the lenses you want especially if your wanting to autofocus with video. The lenses with the linear motors are really good I can't tell a difference with them in speed and acquisition vs the Sony 'Gangsta Mode" glass. If you know this sorry to bother ya lol Keep up the great work on the Channel!!

Yeah Fuji has always tempted me because of the color science and film emulation. I know if I switched though I would probably end up being lazy and never color grading again.

Bro you gotta try an XT-3 or XT-4. The s10 is cool for people coming from other cameras, but the manual dials on the main camera series are what make Fuji worth switching. So much more intuitive than any other cameras.

Never tried Sony cameras, I'm a Fuji guy since 2016 and I'm amazed by their colours, I was thinking about switching to Sony, but I like the usability on these cameras, the colours again and less editing in post. Still have some issues with autofocus, of course I'm not a professional video maker. Cheers

Would be cool if you compared this to cameras in the similar price range (like Sony A6400 or even A6600) but it's still nice to know that this camera is great even to someone who owns and uses A7SIII.

Most everything about fuji is good and fun to work with. Lenses are good too. But Fuji's AF is downright bad compared to Sony, Canon and Nikon DSLR models. For stills, the fuji AF is quite okay, but moving things like dogs coming to you etc ... the AF is very bad at it. With my Sony an average hit rate of 8/10, with my Fuji's a hit rate of 2-3 / 10. Fuji urgently needs to work on their AF system.

Thanks for the video, I really am looking to get this camera soon. I have found that Fuji has plenty of the right lenses for my needs, and I think Tamron/Sigma will be making some for the X cameras soon as well. Can you tell me what the crane thing is that the camera is mounted to, in this video in the shots where it is washed in blue and purple light? Keep shining...

I was just wondering about the x-s10 and a6400 and, however, thanks to your vlog, I agree with Sony. First of all, I care about filming and fast autofocus and clarity. I know that the best choice was the A7III, but the price was high. I think the A6400 will be the best choice.

No sample images? A friend of mine is having a tough time color grading his Sony A7 SIII footages. I asked him to try a Fujifilm camera and he was so shocked by how great the image looks straight out of it without grading. I wish there were sample images from Terry so I could show him this video. Trust me, I planned on including pics and videos from it. Somehow the SD card corrupted so I couldn’t access ANYTHING that was on it! Major bummer. Wasn’t going to do the video because of that but something is better than nothing I guess

I am a fuji user with X-T4. I love the film simulation. Although i do shoot raw not jpeg then apply film simulation in post by lightroom and do some color grading, it makes the work much easier. I just need to tweak the exposure a bit and correct a little bit of color. Film simulation makes a great base grade or template for me. I do hate the autofocus on it. Not good. Also not a full frame. That is why i want to get a7 iv by the end of 2021. Gonna miss the film simulation though and gonna spend more time in post as well.

I know guys own both Sony and Fuji. They mainly use Sony for business. But when they do their personal projects or going out with friends and family, they use Fuji. In my own experience, Sony still is more reliable. But Fuji is more fun to shoot. The XS10 is a beast for the price, although I prefer more manual buttons. Anyway, great review

As a former Canon User I changed to Sony with the mirrorless camera revolution and long time I had the A6000 now I use the A7III and I still use it; I don't need the A7IV yet I rather invest in other stuff - I have decent lenses like the GM 85mm 1.4, the Sigma 35mm Art 1.4 and the Sigma Art 24-70mm 2.8 and I wish I could go to Fuji but mainly 2 things holding me up; The amount of lenses and the autofocus. :-) But I would love a camera looks more like my first camera the Canon AE1 that I bought in the 90s. :-)

Fuji user here - XS10 and XT4 . Tempted hard by the A7C and 20/1.8. Now that 16/1.4 Fujifilm lens produces such beautiful images but the autofocus is struggling with that lens especially in video. There are a ton of options you can tweak to maybe get it working a little more to your liking but it will still not be on par with Sony/Canon autofocus especially in video like I said. Fuji’s newer lenses have much better autofocus in my opinion. I’m surprised you had low light issues with that lens tho?

Yeah it just wasn’t as confident as my Sony’s. But it was def useable. And I wouldn’t say the low light was an issue, just not as clean as the Sony cameras. Def still useable

The thing about Fuji is that their autofocus system is lens based so some lens will autofocus better than others.

It may be because I’ve been using Sony for over six years now, but I’ve used multiple Fuji cameras, and their menus are extremely confusing to me. I’ve also also used Panasonic and Canon cameras, and their menus are very intuitive in comparison to Fuji’s, in my opinion.

It seems like every camera company has something they focus in like Sony the best autofocus while like Panasonic has good 4K video Fuji has ok inside but there exterior looks heavy duty I wonder why that is it’s almost like you almost have to buy 4 or 5 different cameras depending on what you need to record I wonder if they do that on purpose anyways nice food for thought

The Fuji 16mm 1.4 is nice but you gotta try the red badged Fuji lenses (8-16, 16-55, 50-140, 100-400). Autofocus is so fast that Id compare it to a Sony (my bro has a A6400 that I tried).

I've got 2 X-T3's, an X-T30 and preordered the GFX 100s, I also own The latter 3 of the Red Badge zooms (well acquainted with Fuji) so when I say - Yes the AF is fast but that isn't the same as reliable and Sony's AF is much much more reliable than Fuji's AF.
