You should make squid more interesting,not just “haha,I’m evil AI” maybe have a good ending where you save squid from insanity or have him be different from a stereotypical evil robot.

Somehow the music **nails** the style of Portal 2. You know how at the end Glados is just singing about you being a jerk. Yeah. It’s super similar too because it’s about an AI trying to kill you. Like. It fits so well.

You should add an option that lets you choose themes instead of just choosing one. Possibly some themes could be unlocked with exploration points.

Interesting game mechanics with the spikes: Most video games are have spikes that: -Damage/kills you when touch any side -Damages/kills you only if you touch the sharp end along with the spike itself being solid. This game, you can pass through them if you touch the dull side, allowing new and innovative platform tricks. These passable 1-way spikes I first saw was in celeste, but only used on ledges and is mainly to prevent the player from being able to stand on “platforms” safely but must keep going.

if you don't have anything other than achievements if you get skill/exploration point, maybe you could do so some of the secret levels have locked doors that you need a certain amount of skill/exploration points to pass throw them (still you can have these doors hidden, the point of the doors is to encourage the player to get those skill/exploration points)

8:15 - This made me think; I'd love some merch or a desktop snail like you made (but made of a material that does not break when you ship it)

I really like the 3rd experiments colors that lower the brightness but still add to the mood.

2 looks nice, it’s a simple design that feels fresh, although the others while still looking alright do seem to be a bit clustered. A mixture of three is good too, to have some dark contrast instead of all flashy colours, see which you like, try mixing and matching and maybe have a poll or something.

Honestly I like experiments 1 and 4, the visuals there are stunning! Great video as always

I can't wait to play this! If there was one thing you could improve, I would change the typography from a Press Start 2P based to a more modern sans-serif like Jost*. I feel that the bitmap style font doesn't fit the non pixel art style of the game (*edit, in the gameplay and subtitles it looks fine, but it looks odd in the credits). I just wonder how much effort changing the font would be. :)

all of the visual effects (except the 2nd one) are amazing. Maybe you can add an option to change between them? For better clarity or better visuals or a little of both

with the visuals ; something between options two and four would be great . i love the look of option two , but i think the pretty simplicity of the art-style would take away some of the networked technological vibe that you've built up , i also think that option two would clash with a lot of other assets that you have made so far (though i do get that with these being prototypes , you would probably end up changing those clashy assets anyway if you picked it) . so yes , a 2-4 combination would be a lovely mix in my opinion .

You should add some secrets or Easter eggs when you get all collectables or points or whatever. Maybe an upgrade or a color palette setting. Something like that would make completionists happy.
