INSERT JOHN SNOW'S VOICE Winter is coming!
What a brilliant day... well, I say that but I failed myself big time!
We started the day by replacing Front Brake Pads and Discs, and also Rear Pads on an Audi A6 2016(7). The reason why it needed a brake replacement is....? Watch the video to find out more!
The biggest job of them all, diagnosing a check engine light on a Nissan Qashqai 2019(20). If you wanna find out what the fault was... well, keep watching!
Later that day... something VERY unexpected happened....

Strange you didn't get a code up for an open circuit on them sensors. Good shout on the Audi sensor with the corrosion, so many modern mechanics can only work from the book and not use a bit of logic to solve a simple wiring fault.

none of the vans i work on have "pad sensors" every oilchange requires all 4 wheels to be pulled and brakes checked... only high end vehicles have them. and it happens ive had my own van hit metal on metal but mine was caused by a fused slidepin (welcome to canada) no matter how much heat we ended up shearing off the top of the pin even though we nearly had the bracket redhot... quick run to the parts store and cannot buy the bracket alone but we ordered 2 new pins and bought a new bracket from a wrecking yard and rebuilt it.. things happen at least you addressed it quickly ive had vehicles come in or i went to that the pad was non existant and the backing plate was worn halfway though.. come work on some canadian vehciles and dont be surprised when half the car falls apart, i had a car come in where one fuel tank strap was half missing and the other was hanging on by about 1/4 of metal.. i have safety failed cars that are less then 10 years old due to ROT and yes i have the ability to prevent an owner from driving a vehicle away by seizing there number plates i hold a Motor Vehicle Inspection Station Licence... i am an ex ASE certified Tech aswel..

I think the sensors on this is ‘ground sensitive’ so if it touches the metal part of the disc, it will get triggered. Weirdly, I’ve never seen it get triggered so that’s probably why they just chopped it short so it doesn’t touch a metal? 😂

my dad took is car for tracking and new tyres to national tyres and they said to him come back in 2weeks as we cant seem to track the wheels theres a issue so my dad told me i found strange i looked under and the subframe was cracked and you can easily see the crack as it was in the eye of the tracking area and i told my dad they fobbing you off on sales and that why tracking cant be sorted so my dad rang them said i want my full money back as the car is now going to the scrap and they said we would of noticed but soon as i sent photos they shxt it so i then posted it online and then they said will refund if you remove the review and they promised to refund once we give the tyres back so i took the wheels off my dads car they took them and didn't refund so he threated with the newspaper and he ended up with is money back this took a full month. so be warned if a garage saying we cant track it come back in a week or so that means they fault a serious issue
