I think the main reason people don't compare Luka to MJ is because they don't really have a similar playstyles. Luka is not exactly the most athletic, high- flying player you know.

Johan Cruijf was much better and actually impact football and changed the game. Pele is extremely overrated. Underrated part of Mike's game is that he was, quite literally, NEVER bad. The most consistent athlete maybe ever? In his 13 years with the Bulls MJ scored 10 or fewer points twice. That's 2 games out of 930. One of those games was coming back from the broken foot, the other was a blowout win against the Hawks in '97 where he played 3 quarters. He only scored under 20 pts in a playoff game 6 times and 3 of those were blowout wins when he didn't play the whole game. If you look at his game logs on Basketball Ref it's stupid.

Fun fact about Harold Minor/Michael Jordan: One of the sets of basketball cards I used to collect when I was a little boy had Harold Minor's rookie card (I think it was 1994 Upper Deck). On that rookie card, they had a picture of Minor in the background shooting a Jordan-esque fade away over the player in the foreground guarding him... Michael Jordan. There was a time when that card was the second most valuable card in the main set simply because it had Michael Jordan on the card. That was how much we all loved MJ. He was so good that when Iverson crossed him up and made him look uh, human for ONE play, that was the biggest news story in the NBA for a whole week.

It's cool, but the Curry Craze of the last 10 yrs has made people forget about the "heir apparent" craze that was gripping the NBA in late90s and early 00s. He just stands out today because the emphasis on the type of players the league was looking for changed; fewer athletes and bigs now in favor of more shooters. Ant would have fit right in the early '00s next to Finley, J Richardson and Jerry Stackhohuse. Not a Kobe, but enough "like Mike" to be in that convo.

@@bhavjottung5398I think young Kobe is pretty damn close, but as he got older it felt like he was less like MJ and more just his own guy. Like #8 was closer to #23 than #24 was (and that's largely due to the fact that Kobe's explosiveness really was no longer elite by his late 20s, while MJ kept most of it pretty much all the way until 98). 2001-2006 Kobe was pretty close to MJ, but even by 2007 you could see some of that explosiveness go away from Kobe (he was a very good athlete, but not freakish by NBA standards).

As a 37 year old, the way I FEEL watching Ant is the most similar to how I felt watching MJ. I don't know how to describe it accurately, words like electrifying, fearless, and confidence inspiring comes to mind. You also get the feeling that he literally wants to kill you out there on the court, that ultra competitiveness is there.

Great video. I'm 43, and I want to confirm the gut feeling part. Indeed, watching Anthony Edwards sometimes gives you the same magical chills with that MJ feeling. Kobe, LeBron, and others, like 2019 Kawhi, offered some comparably admirable moments, but never that Jordan electrifying feeling. I wish Anthony continues on this path so today's teenagers can live a similarly exciting and enthusiastic era with the MJ "I wanna be like Mike" one in the following years.

I say this with all good intention. You make great videos about basketball and I love watching and have for a long time. I do however hope you are very in touch with your audience in terms of average age of your viewers. With no numbers to back it up I would assume it is mostly young males. The damage being done by the over advertising of these sports betting companies is absolutely insurmountable and infinite. It’s like if they started advertising crack on street poles in areas with large amounts of homeless people. It’s sickening to really look at the impact this is having right now and going to have on the next generation. I hope you see this and put some thought into what money drives you to do. Legal or illegal, paid well or poorly; addiction is what is being advertised.

A thought: I love these videos and always watch them, and the quality of your output has been one of the things that turned me from a 'I wonder how Wemby did last night' guy to someone who's taken a broader interest in the league. But please ditch the sponsorships from gambling companies. You have, deservedly, 2.5m subs and only 2 videos in the last two years have earned fewer than a million views. You earn enough to not shill for some of the worst people on earth. Please let us enjoy these videos without them being tainted in this way.

Also people forget Jordan was almost 22 when he came into the league. So remember the comparison is not to a 28 year old that won that 1st championship. He is like Mike in his early years before the playoff runs and accolades.

MJ was already a DPOY MVP in his technically 3rd complete season in the league from a back-to-back 200+stls/100+ blcks, 37.1/35 pt seasons.. Dropped 63 on the goat Celtics team off a foot injury in his sophomore year. He was the same age as Ant. And the point record still stands despite the scoring inflation.
