I once believed, but I rejected God. What do I do?

Our Listener says, "I understood and accepted the message of the Gospel in 2013. I grew for a while listening to sound sermons and I had security of my salvation based solely alone on Christ's finished work and none of my own works contributed. However, I made poor decisions and I rejected God in 2020, and I have been in doubt my faith conversion was genuine. I lack love and thankfulness towards God, I don't believe I am being chastened when I sin, and no matter how often I read the Bible, I get no peace. Almost everyday, I am tormented with the belief God has given up on me and I'm going to hell. I have sought him in prayer many times. Please can you offer me some advice and point me in the right direction? I must reiterate, I did believe the gospel in 2013, but I no longer believe. I want to believe the message again because I know it's the only thing that will give me a secure foundation to grow in faith.

Hello Jesse, this was my email. Thank you very much for taking the time to address my issue. Recently, I had a conversation with a Godly friend and afterward, I was encouraged to go back into the Bible, I'm reading Proverbs and Romans at a steady pace. The timing of this video was excellent because I had only renewed my interest in the Bible yesterday. What I got out of this video the most is that peace cannot come to me through simply believing the Gospel again, when I have already believed the Gospel. Rather, peace will come as I continue to walk in the Lord and I hope and pray he renews my conscience. It will take work. God Bless your Ministry, and thank you.

@Mustard Seed: You must remember we have an adversary (Satan) who wants you to believe that you "lost your salvation". His strategy is to torment you and keep you from God. He's done to you what he's also done to many other believers. God will help you in your resumption of relations with Him. You're a Christian, and you are eternally sealed by God. You wouldn't be worried about your condition if you weren't. Hang in there. Don't give up nor feel ashamed. There are many, many other believers who have gone through your current dilemma. You will regain your peace. (By the way, I've also been in your situation.)

Don’t worry. God will always look out for us. Hebrews 12 is a great chapter to remind us God disciplines his children like a Father. Will be praying for u👊🏾

It is rare, so rare to hear the true gospel defended. From the Jewish, Catholic, Calvinist, Armenian, and even Muslim, all would tell a person they were obviously lost or never "truly" saved. Where the truths Jessie shared are what needs to be given to help a wayward saint get back on their feet and for them to learn more and more and embrace God's love and faithfulness is the very thing that will help them in every way they need as their fellowship with God is restored. Then that peace they seek will return.

@@BibleLine Amen Trent! Sometimes it is a great help to be reminded by other believers as we can get in a rut or just off track without even knowing it and those encouragements can go a long way. :) Heb 10:24 KJV And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
