"It is like there is another voice in my head telling me that I don't really believe..." Am I saved?

Our listener asks, "I am writing today because I just cannot find
peace in my heart. I truly believe Jesus is the only
way to heaven, and that His blood He shed dying
on the cross is the only payment accepted for my
sins. I just cannot figure out why my heart and mind
won’t accept it. It is like there is another voice in
my head telling me that I don’t really believe. And
it just stays there, and my mind goes in every
possible direction. I have prayed many times, asking God to show me,
if I am relying on something else, and I just cannot
see what it could be. Then I think if I really believed,
then I would not have so much doubt. So then that
takes me back to square one. And since God does not hear prayers from the lost,
I do not see a way to see what is holding me back.
I have watched the gospel presentations, and I say
‘I am believing,’ because I know that no amount of
works or good behavior could pay for a single sin I have committed. And I keep telling myself to just
take God at His word. But days go by, and my
mind keeps telling me ‘Nope! You don’t really
believe that.’ I have had many thoughts of taking
my life after hearing a sermon, knowing Jesus is my only hope, and I am trusting in Him. But then I
get too scared because if I am wrong, my only
destination is hell. I have talked to my pastor, and
he believes I am under some kind of Satanic
attack. I just want to quit all these areas of my life as I’m serving in my church. If you could offer any
guidance, or if you could just pray for me; I would
greatly appreciate it."

I'm praying for Adam and I hope he is ok. I have intrusive thoughts too sometimes about whether I actually believe. I think it is the devil, trying to make us doubt. He thrives on turmoil. God is not a God of confusion, so if we pray to Him when we have these thoughts, He will give us hope. Edited to add that I think these intrusive thoughts are a part of anxiety too. If you are already feeling anxious, the evil one knows you are an easy target.

I got ocd and anxiety. They affect me daily. Anxiety is a modern term for fear. Ocd is a modern term for unwanted thoughts that stem mainly from fear. Sometimes it feels like I am becoming crazy, sometimes I am all calm and good. But if a person has issues with mind and thoughts he does not want, I would also suggest checking out if he has ocd or anxiety, balanced in every other area of life for brain health, and also simply don't try to fight those ocd thoughts. Anxiety becomes greater when you become more anxious of the anxiousness. Just trust in God and every other area get help like medicine if needed, nutrition on point etc

This brought me so much peace. brother louie hernandez said the same thing. This is my first time hearing about 2 Peter ( forgetting that I am saved) The Bible is so so clear on everything we face as Christians. Thank You Jesus Christ. ❤️🙏 I love you all so much ❤️🙏

I was absolutely in Adam’s shoes. But once I stopped listening to all the false teachers in my life and on TV and my own thoughts and saw what Gods word said (which resulted in me placing my faith in Christ alone) I was saved, praise God. My advice after that? Don’t overthink it. Not trying to sound like it’s not an important matter because it is. But if God made his gospel clear enough for a child to understand, then don’t overthink it. Respectfully.

Not being firmly convinced can cause doubt. I always questioned if I were saved and saw the issue as a lack of Trust. Adam needs to see that Christ came to fulfill his Fathers plan to cover the sinful nature of mankind through his Son. Jesus fulfilled his Fathers plan and said it is finished. Adam needs to understand no work is required of him but to trust that Christa sacrifice covers all of his sin, past present and future. His doubt is he knows the truth and what he should believe but the doubt comes in when he still feels like he needs to do something….

I had some of this doubt to I was traumatized I just got in the word in all my spare time I stayed there I started in the Genesis and went to the Revelation because i new very little of what was in the Bible took me a year and Im still here not quit as much but Im in the word every day I m so much better than I was Stay in the Word Jesus said learn of Me.

Even a saved believer teaching him to look at the way he lives and focus on that can do this to you, instead of encouraging him to study the scriptures and let the holy spirit do his job through the word.

Accept the fact that being placed INTO His righteousness is true. I had to ask myself a question early on. Is faith a feeling? No, it's a fact! I believe no matter how I'm feeling. Do those times of amazing refreshing come? Absolutely! Acts 17:28

Saw Bibleline's response back to you (Trent's " the man "). Ditto to exactly what he said and to what Pastor Jesse said. Jesus paid the WHOLE ransom price: John 19:30 -- It. Is. FINISHED. PAID in FULL. ONE all sufficient sacrifice for sins. His blood sacrifice delivers FOREVER the one who has believed. The very moment we believe we are born of God, and receive the free gift of eternal life. DONE DEAL. We have NO merit of our own to offer God. Zero. Zilch. Nada. Our best efforts do not " move the needle " one micro-millimeter closer to heaven, neither before nor AFTER we have believed. Jesus paid for ALL the sins of your entire life (ie, past, present AND future). The ONLY acceptable sacrifice was Jesus' shed blood, and made valid the very moment one believes/trusts His promise, that HE alone satisfied the ransom price. And THAT, is the glorious GOOD news ! Doubts come and go, and are common to all of us. Comes from our fleshly frailty. But Pastor is right. Perhaps listen up again to what he said, and don't look to yourself/your works. Think about it. Jesus made an INFINITE payment on the cross in our stead, because we are otherwise HOPELESSLY lost. Our sin (all of humanity) is an INFINITE offense to an all holy God. He loved us so much that he bore our sins onto Himself and offered up His life as our ONLY possible substitute, made effective to ALL who will believe. NOTHING, no other sacrifice from ANY other source - not from ourselves nor anyone/anything else - could possibly meet God's just demand. We can NOT add one iota, before or after we believe, to what He's already done for us. God the Father is completely satisfied that the just payment for sin has been accomplished thru the sacrifice of His Son. Again, hearkening back to John 19:30 -- " It is finished ", ie, " tetelestai " in the Greek text, indicates that the ransom demand Has been now and FOREVER met. Payment can NEVER be demanded again; Jesus did it. HE " FINISHED the job ", right then and there. So, stand on God's Word alone, friend. Jesus' own promise in John 6:47 -- " He that believeth on ME HATH (has right NOW) everlasting life. " ... Also, from God's Word: ..... Isaiah 64:6; John 1:12, 5:24, 6:37, 10:28; Acts 4:12, 13:38,39; Romans 11:6; Ephesians 2:8,9; Hebrews 9:22, 10:10-14.

Sometimes a wolf in sheep's clothing can do this to you in a very sneaky manner, I know from personal experience, does he know how to be able to spot them, I think the know them by the fruit's of their lips is a very important thing for all believers to understand.

The word of God teaches us how to grow. "As newborn babes, desire the milk of the word, that you may grow thereby..." 1Peter 2:2 "Therefore, lay aside all filthiest and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls." James 1:21 NKJV I know the latter verse comes from the New King James Version, but it is a clearer translated verse. Pardon any difference, but it's clarity that I'm looking for.

Brother Jesse, I agree with almost all of your sermons & teachings & how you answer a lot of of your questions you receive. But, Paul says in 1Corinthians 15: 2 that a person can believe in vain! I am not implying that this young man Adam believed in vain or not, I honestly don't know. But, we must be careful to address all Scripture in its context there in. I pray he truly believed in the dead , burial & Resurrection of Christ for full payment of his Sin, in that case , you are absolutely correct in your explanation to his or anyone else's question pertaining to not believing. Believing in vain is only true in two cases: if salvation is by works - Gal. 2:21 and if Jesus did not rise from the dead - 1 Cor. 15:2. Are those things true? No. Therefore the person who believes is not “believing in vain.” The context of 1 Cor. 15 isn’t a salvation test. It’s a reminder of the resurrection to the already saved Corinthian church. They were all saved who believed. Belief is not qualified by works or lacks thereof. Otherwise, our faith is in vain. Gal. 2:21. You see? If it isn’t ONLY simply faith in Jesus Christ, then he died for no reason. If He did NOT rise, then we believe for no reason… Paul used these in the negative sense in that they aren’t actually true… He did rise, and no works are required. The context of the scripture you are quoting was him addressing the people who didn't believe in the resurrection. Read on the rest of the chapter and put that into context why belief would be in vain "IF" Christ is not actually risen from the dead. Which Christ IS indeed risen from the dead and your belief and trust in Him is NOT in vain. God bless

I believe but my life is dead, I don't eat, I sleep too much, I want to go bye bye, I am confused waiting on God to renew my strength where my will power is gone. I am destructive in dealing with my emotions by booze and drugs and only want to do right but thatis never there for me. I am so lost that I am thinking about doing the MAID program...I live in Canada , so saying bye bye is legal. There is zero preaching on whenyou hit bottom as a true believer in the grace of God but are dead inside.

I often hear this statement that Don't put God in the box when say God bless obedience and not bless disobedience in this present life and give some examples of old testament how God bless Even thought Abraham lied he led him .. What you think about this? Pastor I am asking about Christian life.. Salvation is free gift by faith on finished work of Jesus Christ and saved Eternally secure..

God can still use people in spite of their disobedience. If God did not use people even when they sin, then He would never use anyone. The principle is true that God blessed obedience. Notice Galatians 6:7-9 for example: sowing and reaping. - Trent

Hi Adam. I prayed for you brother. Love ya 💙🙏 Ephesians 2:8-10 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. It's a gift from God for your faith ( Belief ) We MUST always remember to check context when using scripture to gauge or guide our personal situation. The verse you quoted about God not hearing a sinners prayer was being used out of context. That verse doesn't apply to you because of the way the word sinner was used and who you are now that you're one with Christ. You are a new creation in Christ Jesus. Scripture teaches us that when we believe on Jesus as Christ, our saviour, the Holy Spirit seals us with God's seal. Then we're given a new heart and a new mind. Then He ( The Holy Spirit ) indwells the believer. This is an eternal vessel for the Holy Spirit. He will never leave you. ( The Holy Spirit hears and takes all your prayers to The Father ) That happens in an instant, when you trust on Jesus Christ as The Son of God. From that moment on is your walk with The Lord. Your personal discipleship. He will teach you all things. The enemy will put all kinds of thoughts and feelings in your mind to try to deceive you or distract you , anything to STEAL Your Peace and Joy. There's two things people BELIEVE. 1. That their personal salvation depends on what they do. 2. That personal salvation depends on faith in Christ Jesus and what He did on the cross. I am saved by grace through faith not works lest any man should boast. It's a gift from God.

I think God himself will bring doubt to a person who isn't truly born again and doesn't believe the free grace Gospel like they may think they do. A false convert if you will. Those that are truly born again will hear doubts from the devil to make them unfruitful children of God. Thoughts?

The Spirit convicts "the world of sin, of righteousness and of judgment." - John 16. Unbelievers are given a choice to believe or not believe - John 3:15-18. Anyone who does not EVER believe is therefore not converted. Could he believe that he is converted, but he never believed the gospel? Yes. He is false in his own thinking. Nonetheless, the believer who is saved because he believed is not a false convert because he is literally converted. Therefore your next point stems true. Satan brings doubts and promotes believers to be unfruitful. This is the stony and thorny ground mentioned in the parable of the seed, the sower and the soils. - Trent

This is ocd. Its a biological problem not a _faith,_ problem. He needs medication. I have this problem too. Adam, you aren't alone. This is obsessive compulsive disorder.

Bible most of times tell that walk blameless and walk holy and righteous and.. Is it possible Christian walk holy life after he eternally saved? Pastor

Yes, it is possible. The Spirit helps us to live righteously. We will always have the sin nature, but it can be suppressed by walking in the Spirit. - Trent

Does your channel have settings blocking comments? I have posted something three times that I believe would be extremely beneficial to Adam and others like him. My comment keeps getting deleted within seconds. I have tried over 10 times now. I wish I knew what is causing the comments to be deleted. Very concerning

@@davidkarr5119 I hope they do as well. I just emailed them about it. I have been where Adam is and I know resources he needs to fight what he is going through. I really wanted to help him and others in a similar situation. Very disappointed he is not going to be able to see them.

hey guys its not the channel doing it. It is youtube automatic filters that is deleting comments. Bibleline ministries never deletes comments good or bad because it is helpful to others if a bad comment is on here or it is heresy it is still answered to help others see that it is a lie . Basically the lies get exposed. But I hope this helpful.

Yeah, we have it set to the lightest setting because we were getting a lot of spam and random comments. Some contained links to inappropriate content. KZfaq auto-filters for us. I have even had my comments deleted before LOL. I’m unsure why it triggers, but I’ll dig around when I’m back in office. - Trent

What do you mean, living in sin? He will correct and admonish us. We should be glad he corrects us. We are no longer orphans. Face it! We are sinners. No getting away from that. Take His righteous discipline with hope and joy!

There are voices from demons and our own minds. Don't make people believe There are no other voices. Demons remind us especially of SIN Adam is under demonic attack. He needs help. Telling him is under demonic attack without help is counter productive that's why pastors must have an intimate relationship with our Lord and Saviour. Pastors and the rest of the 5 fold ministry are chosen by Christ and should have power and authority and walk in the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
