It is about singing and people who does music can be considered artists. In a tv show called The Jamie Foxx Show. In Jamie Foxx show, he plays Jamie King. There was a fake artists who uses a voice disguiser to fool the audience into believing it was his voice. As soon as Jamie King, cuts the cord, Jamie King exposed a fake artists. That fake artists made an excuse saying he have sore throat. Jamie King sings in front of the audience to show that he is the real artist. This is another example that the real talented artists would never fake illness to perform while the fake artists with no talent would come up with a fake illness excuse to get out of that competition. Since you did say you watched movies and done readings about the story, then I can give you similar tv show idea that can happen to any fake artists who attempts to fake having talents.

I would love a scene where he and his mistress are on the street begging for money and digging in garbage cans for food and the 2 disheveled homeless people see a famous artist wearing fancy clothes walk by surrounded by an entourage and its his ex wife.

He was also HYPOCRITE in his PROFESSIONAL LIFE. As a professional ART CRITIC he betrayed his career by giving a different person (his mistress) credit for his wife's paintings as badly as a crooked cop selling illegal drugs or a child psychologist who is also a pedophile desecrates their own careers. A truly professional art critic would never on purpose give the wrong person credit for a painting.

I can give an example but it does not have to be about painting. It can still be considered art. There is a tv show called The Jamie Foxx Show. Jamie Foxx who plays Jamie King is a talented singer. There was another man who uses Jamie's recording to disguise it as his own voice. Jamie cuts the cord to show the audience that this man is not the real talented singer. Once he is caught and exposed as a fraud, he uses the I have a sore throat excuse. Jamie on the other hand does not use the fake illness to get out of a competition since he was not using any plagiarism to compete. This is another example that an artist who knows a meaning of hard work and talent would believe in themselves and would not settle for plagiarism to compete. So that fits the example that those who don't know the meaning of hard work and talent do not achieve anything.

My guess is that plagarising his wife's art and lying that his mistress painted it would ruin all credibility for him and his career as an art critic would immediately end and his wife could probably SUE him for any money he or his mistress made off of her paintings. The divorce court judge would probably take her side fully so she might end up owning his house too. I posted above that I wanted a follow up scene where the now wealthy and famous divorcee is walking down the street with an entourage and sees 2 homeless people digging through garbage cans for food and I won't insult your intelligence by telling you who the 2 homeless people are.

This story line was taken from the movie about the life of Margaret Keane. She's the artist of the famous Keane Eyes paintings. Except it was her husband who stole the works and said they were his. He actually gave the same hurt hand excuse in court where they were having a painting contest.
