After almost 4.5 years, I just quit my job at Facebook to start my own startup. Here's why I'm now part of the "Great Resignation".

I worked for a large software company for 11 years. Also very well compensated. But in the end we were not doing much development, I was a highly-paid meeting attendee and a person who sent and read emails all day. I had to ask myself at the end of the day, what did we accomplish today.

This was your first video that I watched and I can totally relate. I took sabbatical to start a company in different country after working in pretty much the same role for 4 years. My frustration of missing big picture and focusing on perfection by solving bugs while having pretty much the same salary propelled me to jump the ship 😀 you have nicely put things for everyone to understand. Good luck man

I worked for a tech start-up for a while. We would have these 15+ person meetings with 7-8 directors non-stop. So many attendees people would bring in extra chairs and stand along the walls. Hours long to make the most simple decisions which would immediately be turned over by the CEO the next morning. I used to sit in those meetings and try to calculate what the hourly cost of us all sitting there accomplishing nothing was.

Subscribed because I appreciate your clear style, valuable insights and honesty. Want to add this: If you do earn a lot of money, you can have a greater than zero chance of becoming wealthy if you invest in high-risk assets. The potential of a high reward is usually balanced by some amount of risk that needs to be taken for that reward, and this can come in various forms such as starting and leading a company to great success with a high probability of failure, or by making very fortunate investment decisions with the money you receive.

And what's the crucial knowledge to become a software engineer in a daily basis? So i can prepare it all. Thank you.

Year 8 of an unlaunched no-revenue (yet!) startup here & not nearly letting up or giving up!!!!! When learning all angles of business, (and new to it, if its your first startup) its a lot of work, but talented programming and being able to guide best usage of programming (often by doing it yourself) is such a major key, and you have that. The time will come. Wishing you great luck! Be weary if any potential looming senses of failure arise over time. Make sure you are able to discern between whether that feeling is a sense your startup will not work and will become a lesson for you, and the fact that what you are building may just take years and it is not time yet! Best Wishes🙏❤
