Brotherhood is just unmatched. The story, the ending, the combat, the stealth, just everything is perfection. I love how Ezio has to find Cesare and chases him for the entire game until he goes all the way to Viana in Spain and kills him. I also love ac2 and revelations. Another one that stands out is Unity. Amazing Stealth and animations. I really like Arno as well.

Almost agree completely. I would bump Black Flag up to S tier. And maybe Origins to A tier. Otherwise basically how I would rank them to. And I agree that the RPG combat sets the newer games back a ton. Kill chains and counter mechanics is what makes you feel like a skilled assassin. Not auto attacking and seeing a health bar slowly deplete. I REALLY wish they go for something more in the lines of Shadow of Mordor/Arkham City when it comes to the combat system for future AC games with counters, executions and stuff like that that makes combat feel more fluid.

Great list! I honestly don't mind the rpg era of AC games. Im finishing up origins, already finished odyssey, and will play valhalla until mirage comes out. I have high hopes for mirage and I won't mind if they focus more on stealth than rpg elements. But I do enjoy being able to fight your way out of trouble and not insta failing missions if you mess up stealth.

Syndicate may be hard to take seriously but it was fun as hell

My first ac that I played was brotherhood. It was insane and is till this day one of my favorites. Same goes for Black flag and Origins. Both beautiful and unique.

Imo AC2 had the best gameplay during its decade. Beautiful graphics. But most importantly.....the story and storytelling of the game carries. It felt like a literal movie we are creating while gaming.

It's hard to compare older assassin's creed games with the new ones. My favourite is ac2 and brotherhood, ac3 was the one that I have played the most. I loved the idea of climbing trees when i was a kid, and I found its dlc very fun to play. Ac4 was great. However, I found naval battles annoying sometimes. I really enjoyed rogue( Shay and Ezio are my favourites main characters) and revelations mainstory. I loved vahalla honestly, its plot is deeper than it seems to be, there are a lot of metaphors. Origins is great, the setting is amazing, just going around Egypt is fantastic; its mainstory is quite short though. Oddysey, I didn't like it when I tried to play it the first time. Now I'm giving it another chance, and its really fun too, but it can be overwhelming. The leveling up is tedious for me. But I think they are all great games. I can't say anything about unity and syndicate because their optimization sucks. I couldn't play unity in a comfortable way. The only thing that I can say, is I enjoyed its parkour, even though is overrated in my opinion, it seems buggy sometimes. Great video man, best ranking I have found on youtube

Origins is just a beautiful game……didn’t enjoy unity , syndicate , black flag , odyssey as much. It was just a stunning experience going through all the landscapes

Brotherhood will always be my favorite , ac 2 was amazing , liked ac1 , hated ac 3 all though the combat was actually awesome . Didn’t finish ac3 , started black flag but never got far n it . Skipped unity rogue syndicate , played origin , love the open world , absolutely incredible , but now I’m playing odyssey and boy, beautiful open world , so much to do , I enjoy looting and having to mix n match armor and gear and weapons , it’s sorta becoming my second favorite ac game even though it doesn’t really have a lot to do with the assassins story . Games amazing .

Underrated

Rogue has the best missions and level design in the series. An upgrade to Black Flag in every way except story. Unity feels like dragging a pile of bricks through a pool of syrup. I remember enjoying the stealth but in recent memory I haven't gotten far enough into it to do any. Seriously tried to get into it 3 or 4 times but it is a chore to play. Revelations is praised for having the hook blade but for me it makes free running a bit wonky. I'm currently playing it and struggling to care about the bombs. The additions to gameplay are not improvements. I am enjoying the story though.

Assassins creed 2 is my personal favourite alongside brotherhood

Honeslty i love the ezio collection, but damn. Fk them 100% sync memories, especially if you're trophy hunting. The tank mission still haunts me to this day

I love AC2 and 1 story wise but 3 newest games are 100% more fun. Like that's not even a comaprison. I have like 100 or so hours in Origins, Odyssey and Valhalla and like 20 hours in AC2 or AC1. These old games are okay for 1 playthrough but there are losing badly with new games whet it comes to fun, graphics, gameplay. I even enjoyed the story more in AC:Odyssey and Valhalla.

The combat was definitely the biggest let down for me too when it comes to Odyssey and Origins, which is a shame because the time period is so cool

Haven't played all the games but the ones I have played so far I'd rank as followed: S: Odyssey + Black Flag A: Origins (unfinished) B: Valhalla C: Unity + Syndicate (unfinished) Reasoning: - Odyssey: was my first AC game and sparked my interest in the franchise. Loved every second of it, especially the sassy personalities and humor. Replayed it, will probably replay it again soon. I prefer the RPG style of the newer games; combat feels more challenging and satisfying, lots of customization options, and a huge and gorgeous world to explore. I also like the player choice element. - Black Flag: finished it today, phenomenal game. There were some meh parts but the really good parts hit hard. Too many trailing missions though. Naval warfare and the side content is very well developed and allot of fun. Enough variety to the gameplay to keep it interesting and I think it does this better than Odyssey, which can get repetitive once you finish the main story. - Origins: haven't finished it yet, but it just looks like it's going to be a gorgeous world and really good story. Again I like the RPG elements, I do think Odyssey is a step up from Origins though, so A tier for now. - Valhalla: lots of flaws but I can't say it's a truly bad game either. Compared to most games out there, it's still above average. But conquering England is interesting for like the first two areas...and then it's a boring, repetitive mess. Takes way too long. The actual main story is interesting though. - Unity: can't say it's a bad game gameplay wise but I really didn't like anything about it. I'm also not a fan of the setting, just not my cup of tea. The story was confusing and felt rushed all throughout. Characters would get introduced and killed left and right and nothing really lasted long enough to make me care. The romance with Elise also gets tiring and borderline frustrating the longer it goes on, and the ending was not satisfying. - Syndicate: unfinished and too soon to really tell, but I really don't like the main characters already. The setting also isn't my cup of tea, but there's many areas left to explore so who knows. I'm seeing similar patterns in the story as there were in Unity, so I'll place it alongside it for now.

At least there's no D tier for the Franchise, at least for now. That's a fair enough tier ranking, although I would bump AC Black Flag to S tier, just below Brotherhood the only AC game that surpassed AC Black Flag. As for Origins bump it to A tier. AC Valhalla just bump it up above Syndicate. Vikings are not good at sneaky attacks, since they are traditionally warrior build. Until next time see you in AC Mirage.

I only disagree with you in the part of the Origins combat system, to me still the best of the franchise, in the other games was more like a counter attack based combat, in Origins ( not played the other 2 rpg styled ) you need to be more carefull and acctualy try to defeat enemies, the other games are really good but the combat makes em too easy.

I have to disagree with your assertion that Byak is the best character, too me he is just a murderer. He never takes accountability or any responsibility for his son's death; tragic though it is. As understandable as his motivations are, he starts as a good man who will kill in defence of a higher ideal; and becomes a bad man who kills to satisfy his own base, and selfish desires.

Ive played most of the games and my unbiased opinion without nostalgia goggles is: AC Unity Beautiful graphics perfect combat perfect parkour way ahead of its time and amazing main character development AC Brotherhood amazing coop and having fellow assassins help you was so badass. story is as good as it gets. combat much better than ac 2 AC II great graphics for its time. monotonous combat. janky parkour, terrible ending with ezio deciding all of a sudden killing rodrigo is wrong which was extremely inconsistent with the thousands of guards he killed to get to that point AC III amazing story with great combat. connnor and haythem dynamic is perfect. So underrated AC Origins amazing visuals and details. great main character however it was closer to skyrim than assasins creed. AC Odyssey so goofy and colorful and almost like its for kids. just a terrible ending especially with the DLC. Kassandra or alexios showing up in a suit is just… so wrong.

You are very wrong. First of all i dont know on what base you ranked the series. I playing right now Syndicate and let me tell you is by far the best. I was very impresed by London. The dart rop which allows you to quickly move is amaizing. I fucking enjoy it how quickly i can move stealthly in a mision. Second, Crowford if im not mistaken he s name right now cause im not native english speaker its hard with the names, he is one of the best templar i have seen in the series. He is better than Haythan Kenway. What else? Im in love with Evey such a warm girl. Jacob is a smart guy. I see many youtubers preach almost the same thing, they rank the same games in almost the same order, i dont see someone to have a genuine opinion. You cant put Brotherhood first because the game suck from many points of view. You dont have philosophy in it, you cant be as stealth as you are in the new games, the fighting is poor you can campare it with the newest ones. I will play the last 3 games and i will have a whole picture about the series. I will put Black Flag on second spot, Edward is the best protagonist in my opinion and the Carraiben set up was too much. I mean when i robbed plantation in the night while was storming and i was stealthy jumping on roofs or killing behind corners was too fucking amaizing. The locations where unbeliveble i didnt want that game to finish. Anyway i think you guys are too young for the series to comprenhend entirely. Have a good day

ac 4 is slightly overrated for me. i love the game to bits but 75% of the game is tailing/eavesdropping missions and it gets so frustrating and boring at times

Brotherhood is way too overrated. Revelations was a better game. Any AC game after Syndicate is an F tier lol. One of the primary tenets of the creed is to emphasize stealth over combat. They threw all that out the window.

Unity, Origins, Odessey and Valhalla, the only Creed games worth playing thus far. Earlier games too childish. Played on fantasies of children way too much. The recent games are more into an Adult Gamer audience now.
