In this multiple-part series, we'll brave the horrors of this haunting DLC, facing off against ghouls, invisible creatures, and manhunting fleshbeasts. But amidst the chaos, there lies a glimmer of hope as we strive to awaken the monolith and unlock the secrets of this enigmatic world. Can we survive the relentless onslaught and beat the ending for Anomaly? Join me as we push the limits of survival on the hardest difficulty setting. This was played on Rimworld 1.5 with the Royalty, Ideology, Biotech and Anomaly DLC enabled. The difficulty is the losing is fun preset on 500% threat with the Randy Random storyteller. This is how I Spent 100 Days in Rimworld Anomaly.

One of the first things I've learned about this DLC, it mixes really well with going mech. Going mechanitor seems like it would be something that would distract from the anomaly DLC, but in practice it is more akin to providing the absolutely critical weapons for your colony to survive the anomalies.

I very much get like a WH40k vibe playing, and that aligns with what you stated. Like you are the imperium with copied advance technology using it to hold back the forces of Chaos. A Mechanitor is just a Adeptus Mechanicus tech priest with his mech servitors. Your Ideologian and royalty leaders are Sanctioned Psykers/Ordo Malleus. The game is perfectly setup for a grimdark play through.

I really like how rimworld works together with different dlc (and mods) even royalty which is in my opinion a very cautious dlc and which doesn't mean much in a gameplay way expands so much with the overall lore

@hardbrocklife Exactly. I'm definitely doing a modded 40K Inquisition run. One can be a Puritan, which purges all anomalies indiscriminately, and the other, a Radical which harnesses the darkness to fight the darkness.

@drake713 Royalty is nice because it brings us three very interesting things- psycasting (in vanilla it kind of sucks, modded it rocks), mech clusters (which are an interesting combat challenge), and new items (implants, armor, weapons, high-tech melee weapons, which expand your combat and production options). Royalty is worth buying, but it's also worth leaving to buy for last, if you can't get all DLCs in one go.

@@mirceazaharia2094 oh absolutely, which is why I didn't call it bad, it is a good expansion (and VE royalty + VE psycasts are amazing mods) it tested the water and you can ignore it (like veequeue did with the deserter quest) if you're not feeling it but it still exist in flavour in the background but with less impact than the others.

yea there's one or two popular mods that mess with the ghouls melee skill so if your ghoul is dying to animals, do some googling and touch up the modlist

@@tabithal2977 they should be able to level up in melee, maybe there's a mod conflict or you're just not noticing how slowly it's levelling it's melee. It seems like this problem can come from the allow tool mod or hugs lib, they'll probably get updated to fix it at some point.

Can't believe everything that happened to the colonist that received my name. Got sucked into the void and survived and got downed and survived. Plus the Yttakin has a burning passion in a couple of skills that I do in RL, cooking and construction. Shame the Yttakin didn't have an interest in crafting, then he would have been a perfect, furry representation of me.

I'm a little surprised that Veequeue's first instinct upon duplicating a colonist wasn't to immediately harvest the duplicate's organs. That would have been peak Rimworld.

Hell yea idk if I just suck But I got a revenant around 30 days in my colony on a tribal start try killing one of those things with short bows 😂 now I know to wait till active the signal

Agreed, or first starting and activating that Monolith to early can create some TRUE fear. First colony I did with this(and the first to fall), had a monolith pop and I got a sight-stealer early and I didn’t know WHAT it was. It mauled a colonist and killed them before I killed it. Thought it was over and then later on I saw a half-invisible one behind the only other colonist that could fight as I was shocked seeing it.

Well, they can add more anomalies and rituals and applications for bioferrite, shards as well as more ghoul implants. Let's not forget the mechanics of secondary maps with an access point on your own map (the flesh pits), as well as invisibility and detector devices that break it. We could have improved code for Save Our Ship, Pocket Dimensions, and even Predators (Yautja) or ghosts or something. The possibilities are not limitless, but they are significantly expanded now. I love the new dlc, I think of it as a challenge for your best builds. I have been trying to put a build together from some of your overpowered builds. Especially when you killed every faction on the map

in case you did stuff like me and start with barely anything, the monolith is gonna drop in a few days, if you trigger it there will be an instant attack, you get a way to hold the creature, now i am not sure if you can get something that cannot be held with one room and the default instant construction holder, so just like all dlcs it basically adds content that can be interacted with from about day 5 or 6, that's about how fast you can defeat the mech for mech link to get the mechanitor from 0. same for the praetor quest, it shows up in a few days and ideology is from start, so far all dlcs will have an impact from 0 in max 10 days, if there's more it's just unlucky

Turret pack and security doors belong to the main research that are added in anomaly dlc main game research, don't know if there is more but the anomaly tab has it's own tab for research

I've learned while playing this dlc that you can have both research active at the same time. You can have an anomaly research as well as a normal research

Stick with it, been playing 2 years and I’m still to win but every play through is amazing and I learn something new every game. Such a quality game with so much content especially with mods (just be careful installing to many mods even though it’s hard because there are so many cool ones )😂

Been playing a colony on adventure story with Cassandra to try out the mod and the insane thing is that the number of sightstealers doesn't seem to link with difficulty, because even I had that many of them at a certain point and it also was extremely hard. Moreover, it seems like all Fleshbeasts have Breacher AI and didn't care about my doors, preferring to attack my walls instead! Really hard, regardless of difficulty it seems

Hello veequeue, i dare you to play on the Hot sea ice that is a desert/extreme desert biome on the new mod "TrueDesert". It basicaly removes: Soft Sand, Rough Stone, Soil and just leaves a small ammount of rocky soil around the rocks.

Lost my recent colony to a single revenant because I didn't have enough fire foam poppers and wasn't advanced enough for emp. Also had a colonist get trapped in an obelisk. Zombies are easy to handle as they just died on their own once I left them alone. This update is going to take a lot of getting used to, and didn't help that I enjoy starting naked and alone.

I have only the base game and I'm curious how DLCs work. Do they only work one per scenario or can you have multiple active at once? Also which DLCs are the best because If they are one per scenario I'm not sure I could play 4 different scenarios because I have a lot of other games I want to play.

bro the rains are absolutely devastating, i mean from now on i won't leave any corpse on the map, ill just put them in the new trash can, harbringer grove, also i think it's a good idea to have all your base locked up and with roof in all important areas since blood rain means animal craze which will mean you do not get to go outside one second

Are you using Allow Tool mod? I think there's a bug with it which causes ghoul to attack for minimum damage and could not dodge anything.

The best way to deal with sightstealers should logically to use a blank: Their invisibility is a psychic powe,r so a psychically dull pawn should be able to spot them at any distance.
