Thanks for your reaction. Dimash is Dimash. He is the best. You don’t expect a deep rich warm voice to come out of a tall slim young man like Dimash, but he does. You don’t expect to hear voice that sounds like a female soprano to come out of him, but yet it does. He trained himself so thoroughly that his vocal range is almost the entire piano keyboard. He had actually hit D8, whistled with his throat, and sustained it for a good 5 seconds, in his Unforgettable Day performance at Gakku concert. Dimash never like to talk about his range, because he only does what the song requires. His voice is always pure, warm, crystal clear and angelic. Never brassy or ear piercing to listen to him. Only love and respect for Dimash. ❤

An opera singer said that it's the strong jaw movements that he is doing in this song to get that long and rounded mouth for the operatic sound that is displacing the in-ears, which is why he has to push them back in so frequently.

Dimash started singing at age 5. His mom Sveta says that he sang soprano because they needed sopranos. When his voice changed, he added low notes, but never lost the ability to sing soprano. He has said that doctors have told him that his vocal equipment differs from that of others they have examined. So there is possibly a genetic factor as well as 20+ years of training to explain his amazing range.

What happened was in order to record a demo to send to Dimash, Piergiuseppe had to hire 3 different singers, one man and 2 women for the highest notes at the end. I just went to his concert in Düsseldorf on April 9. Talking about stamina!!! The show was 3 hours long and he did 24 songs. It included Olimpico and many other songs that required a lot of strength and vocal mastery. His voice and his interpretation captivates you. I traveled from USA, at my almost 74 years old, and will do it again in a heart bit. It was an unforgettable day. You need to watch Love is Like a Dream, Ave Maria and Stranger. I enjoy Dimash's music, but I think what first drew me to him were his interviews that showed the kind of person he is. Once I saw those I was hooked! Here was a person with amazing talent who was also kind, humble, hard-working, thankful and didn't take anything for granted and who seems to have a really good grip on what's important in life. I hope he will keep these qualities throughout his life! (And if his parents and grandparents ever write a book about raising children, I would definitely buy it!)

Yes - I think this was the 1st piece written by Igor in 2019 especially for Dimash's Voice, and of course there was a huge production team involved in putting together this Headline piece for the massive Opening Ceremony of these Games { the lyrics are exhortations to the athletes to "bring their best"}. But don't discount Dimash's input either. Dimash has been writing songs from his early years and his formal studies included Composition. An area he has since expanded at a post-graduate level. Most have noticed how Dimash struggled here with his in-ear monitors even though he tried to make his attempts look like part of the performance. Dimash himself came out later saying they weren't working. I'm not sure if that was for the whole of the performance or only part. He seemed to give up on them during the 2nd half. Whether wholly unavailable or in part, his capacity to remain in perfect pitch & time within that massive arena speaks even MORE impressively about his both skill & professionalism. As to his phenomenal range, apparently his mother commented at one point that he had been encouraged to take female operatic parts during his early training. Remembering that he started at age 5 ! I do wonder whether having rigorous daily classical vocal training both pre & throughout puberty was part of his maintaining & strengthening his upper registers at the same time as developing his lower. There has been a lot of 'chatter' about whether he was born with a genetic abnormality in his vocal chords, with some reports that these are longer than the average males'. Nature & Nurture Combo? Regardless - provided he does all healthily - we should all just relax about the 'analysis' & enjoy the sheer beauty of this unique voice resting on a solid base of hard earned skill.👍

You're right when saying that listening to other singers is like ... meh lol. Once I stumbled across Dimash and listened to enough of his songs, it was a done deal lol. I won't be able to hear any other vocalist from here on out and not compare their skills to Dimash. I mean, I will still listen to other music of course and will still love other artists by their own merit, but after listening to Dimash I am dead set on the mindframe that there is no one else like him and no one else in the past, nor in the present, is on the same level as him when it comes to over-all perfection of vocal skills. Who knows in the future if someone, somehow surpasses him, we shall see. But for the time being, I am in the camp of Dimash being the best vocalist of our age.

In the final stage of completing his Doctorate in Musicology (composition major), he has remained a student throughout his career, considered a scholar among academics, until recently his performances/projects were carefully scheduled around his studies. He needed the academic weight of the Doctorate to compose seriously, and teach on the university level later in life, both life goals.
