As someone new to being in a wheelchair this helped me out so much. I’m an ambulatory wheelchair user so there’s still a ton of anxiety I feel when people see me walk from my car to get my chair. I can’t really walk more than a hundred feet without tons of pain and fatigue and risk of falling, hence my need for a chair. Thanks for showing some ways to work out on a chair and use from experience.

As a fellow ambulatory wheelchair user here's what I can tell you. Don't be afraid to stand or walk if you want to or need to because people are going to watch either way. And if people ask why you're using a wheelchair since you can walk you can just ignore them if they're being rude. Sometimes people are just curious because they forget that not all wheelchair users are wheelchair bound. My go-to answer for those is something along the lines of I have chronic fatigue so I might be fine walking now but if I didn't have my wheelchair then I would probably collapse at some point and I wouldn't be able to get back home. But you can also just answer that not all wheelchair users are paraplegic and that it's none of their business. It takes a while to get used to everything, but you'll get there. I've been an ambulatory wheelchair user for almost 3 and a half years now (and one of those was me stupidly thinking that I didn't need my wheelchair anymore so I ended up having to be literally carried by my friends and skipping entire weeks of classes because my crutches were just not enough at that point). It's a struggle, but the most important part is realizing that the wheelchair is going to bring you so much more freedom than you would otherwise have. People are people, and there will always be someone to judge you, whatever you do, so don't let that stop you.

Great video. I was in an accident 5 years ago and almost lost both my feet. I spent 2.5 years in a wheelchair then progressed from that to a walker and now a cane. I'm almost free of the cane. The wheelchair part of my life was extremely difficult and I learned a lot and gained a TON more respect and admiration for those living with these disabilities for life. Keep killing it out there fellow cripples!

Definitely one of the best videos produced by Will, furthermore within the bodybuilding community. Woody casually displaying strength comparable to that of a callisthenic athlete is so impressive. His mindset is very valuable. Thanks to Will for showcasing Woody's talent and drive on this amazing channel.

I got teary eyed a few times throughout the vid, not gonna lie damn. Woody is absolutely incredible and Will you are just awesome for showing a brief day in the life of a wheelchair user. Seriously one of the best videos I’ve seen on KZfaq in a long time. Man Woody is just amazing, seriously, the mental fortitude and positivity from this man. Also not to mention the insane condition, muscularity, strength and athleticism. Incredible video. Thank you Will 🙏

I'm a biomedical engineering student so how people interact and live with medical devices is important to me. I volunteered with wheelchair users earlier this year and I can say that the positivity within the community and the ownership they have over their position and unique skills is beautiful. I think you really highlighted that today. Thanks for using your platform for it!

This guy is amazin, i honestly love people that can poke fun at themselves, whatever the case may be we all have some stuff we deal with that others may not but just being able to make light of those situations i think is a good mindset. This video was really inspiring, some days i just dont have motivation and drive, or ill make up my own excuses, but listening to woody talk was an eye opener, i loved how he said we all have a wheel chair.

My mom was in a wheelchair for 5 years before I was even born. She recently passed due to complications with her lungs, but she was the strongest woman I’ve ever known in my life and rarely let her disposition get in the way of enjoying her life. I work out now and even still I only hope to be half as strong as she was, massive respect to both of you ❤️‍🔥 power and determination know no bounds

After losing just half a finger in an accident, I remember being distraught about not being able to play instruments, eat, work out etc. Then time had its way and I bounced back doing it all and thought it was a nice feeling to be back at it. But now I see these massively inspiring personalities and my predicament seems negligible considering how driven and mutually supportive these people are. Much love and support everyone!
