@@emmidjam2307 Late to video but I have be pondering the same thing. The only possible explanation I can think of is if the maker of the movie didn't want to imply that there were fundamental problems with the US healthcare system. So he threw in the surprise charity so that the movie would say that no child in the US would ever die because their family couldn't afford treatment. This is the only possible reason I can think of because otherwise it is such a bizarre plot twist that makes the entire movie's (or painting I guess) plot completely irrelevant.

Jesus Christ died for our sins, rose from the dead, and gives salvation to everyone who has faith in him. True faith in Jesus will have you bear good fruit and *drastically* change for the better! Those led by the Holy Spirit do not abide in wickedness. 👍🏾 *God is ONE manifesting himself as THREE;* the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit! Bless him! *For these three are one.* As I am led by the Holy Spirit, nothing I state is a lie, but the truth of God. Anyone who tells you differently is misinformed or a liar. They do not know God, nor led by him. Anyone who *claims* to be a Christian and is against what I am doing, and where I am doing it; the Holy Spirit does not dwell within them, they lack understanding. They know not God, read his word, and their religion is in vain. Do not hear them, they will mislead you, the lost cannot guide the lost.

When you trust in God and cast your cares (worries, anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts) upon him, they will be NO MORE! Know that there is power in the name Jesus Christ! His name casts out demons and heals! The world is wicked, evil, and of the devil. I too, was a wicked sinner of the world before I opened my heart to God. I am living proof of God's work and fruitfulness! He is an active God who hears the prayers of his! God's children are set apart (holy) and righteous. The devil is a liar that comes to steal, to kill, and to destroy; that includes your relationship with God!

The budget for this movie absolutely blows my mind. Why did they do an arts and crafts project to make a fake microphone? Why did they print out sheets of paper and then staple them together to make a book? Surely it’s easier to just. Get a book from home. To stick a news studio logo onto an already existing microphone. I’m in awe of the prop team’s...dedication?

I love “is he cheating” subplot that’s exactly like the same subplot in Incredibles, where the wife thinks the husband is cheating on her, but he’s actually just trying to get back into shape to do something to help his family (even though that thing is slightly unrelated to his family in general) The only difference being Bob has a valid reason for hiding it from Helen because we see early in the movie she disapproves of his heroism, whereas I have no idea why you would need to hide dancing from your wife?? Why would she disapprove of you trying to win money for your daughter’s life saving surgery? What is going on?

I _think_ the magic pencil woman was supposed to be some quirky version of a studio intro, like the 20th Century Fox theme or the Columbia Pictures torch lady, and they just decided it'd be fun to have her directly interact with the story at the beginning and end of the film. I work in the ICU and can confirm the alarm when the grandpa dies is actually what we call a “critical alarm.” It goes off when vital signs are dangerous and require immediate attention, including asystole (which is the flat line that movies use to indicate “yeah that guy is dead”). I thought the heart monitor actually made no sound when someone does, because the beeps are the machine picking up when the heart is beating, which is why it beats constantly like that. Then when the heart stops beating, the beeps and all sound from it stop because there's no input for it to make a noise. And the continuous beep when someone does was just a Hollywood thing to make it more dramatic.

That first scene was straight out of a horror movie. She creates life. Life that laughs and plays and then the second she strays beyond her narrow confines, as she was created to do, IMMEDIATELY dissolves into a green mist while the creator joyfully laughs at her creation's demise into oblivion, playing with the remnants like it's the best thing she handled in a long time. I understand your search for something obscure turning into a lifelong obsession. My entire life I had tried to find a computer game I played when I was a kid called Fantasy Empires. And unlike you, I had no internet to aid my search. I finally found it 15 years later in a locked glass case in a pawn shop under two other CDs. That was the closest I have ever come to a non-sexual orgasm.

Speaking of weird plot twists; I read a book where the main character was a young girl trying to adjust to some major life changes, being looked after by someone else in a new place. And to separate her from her past, they changed her birthday. Not the day or month, but the YEAR. They let her grow up thinking she was a year younger than what she actually was, which did nothing but cause forced drama at the end when she met a boy 🙄🙄🙄

@shineeshaymin

@@lixonzito2481 yeah because she spent 20 years without looking her date of birth in any document. Not even once. But there are indeed many people that get their dob wrong because their documents are wrong. Edit: Guys, I said that because it's a document of yours, it proves you were born, when and where, so it's important. I'm seeing a lot of people saying the same things, so I'm thinking it depends on the country how people manage their documents. So I'm sorry for that, really. I'm an archivist so I have a different point of view when it comes to documents. Actually, that's an interesting thing I should research more for an article, so thank you all for these informations!

11:26 - actually Drew the monotonous beeping is a lot more accurate to real life. The machine wants to draw your attention to the asystole and assumes that you're not there to check on the patient yet. It keeps going from the time it detects danger until you silence it. The continuous flat-line tone that you hear in movies when somebody dies is definitely a movie invention.

When a movie says it's "inspired by true events" that can literally mean anything. It's not BASED on true events, it's just that some random event really happened that gave you the idea for the story. For example, you did drugs and saw it in a vision, or you were sitting in your cubicle at work and it simply popped into your head out of boredom.

my favorite part is how the main character was fired and given no chance to explain himself before escorted out. and yet when its proven that the other guy stole the invention and framed the main character, he just gets demoted. like i' sure the mail room sucks but he still has an income

My theory for the painting lady is that this is some kind of series of movies where she is the connecting thread that paints every story as if they're all coming from her imagination. That would mean there's more out there, or this was the first and they never bothered again.

Wait, could the painter not be the guy's daughter but in the future? So because she is able to get [generic medical procedure valued @ 1 dance-off gold prize or approx. $40,000] and survive, she then paints the story of how her dad's secret groovin dance moves were able to move a small town to its breakdancin' knees, and cultivate the spirit of dance to imbue his daughter with new life, until finally peaking her painting career with the pinnacle of cinema itself, Mean Girls?

I find it hilarious that the hospital scene is actually more accurate than any movie I've seen. The beeping is actually the monitor alarm which would def continue like that after someone died. The long monotone beep when someone flatlines is actually a pure hollowood thing. No actual monitors do that.

I think I understand what the deal is with the opening and closing scenes. It's really weird, but there were some films that basically made a skit for the production company, and then worked that into the opening and closing scenes of the movie. I can't think of other specific examples, but I know it's something I saw sometimes as a kid, mostly with low-budget indie studio movies that you could only ever find at thrift stores and garage sales. So as you can see in the beginning, the movie is "A Mystical Gold Production," so I'd wager if Mystical Gold made any other movies, they bookended them with a similar scene. In fact I'm going to take a pause writing this and look them up right now. This is the only movie they ever produced. I wish I could say I'm surprised.
