I don't mind going beyond retro gaming ( I don't often show interest myself) but I've noticed the AAA industry dying thing is a bit of a trend. I imagine Asmon wanted to cover it and found the channel, he often does that to help himself cover the topics out of all the vids about the dying industry though, he found Decade's. that's gotta say something about how he found it

@LadyDecade - Saw the vid. Congrats! lol Also @4:42 [behind-the-scenes shot] - Saw a glimpse of what looked like a random Vectrex controller just chilling out. Had to rewind and pause. It IS, then I noticed how every nook and cranny of that desk is packed with retro treasure. Vextrex unit, Amiga, C-64, an odd looking phone that's actually a ColecoVision. Good lord.

My only exposure to Asmongold were his recent videos like that one he did on the recent Yakuza/Like A Dragon game and yeah not a fan of his and I felt some of his points in those videos weren't well thought out, in fact those videos basically put Asmongold on my "not for me" list, so I never watched anything from him again since.

I haven't been under a rock. However, I have never heard of Asmongold until today and only because of Lady Decade's video. 🤷🙈🙉🙊⁉️ I have been on KZfaq since its second year of its existence via my other profile. I have been making content on this profile for around ten years. If Asmongold has ever been suggested on my homepage or recommended videos tier, then I never noticed the dude. Seriously. No clue about the guy before today.

I had no issue with that video of yours I understood it perfectly, and I saw how correct you were, sure I can see how people would dissect it to being confusing, but to me it all made sense, in a logical way, no conspiracy theories, just a simple logical look at the reality of the world as it was and how it is. while I am not a huge fan of Asmongold he is a intelligent person and makes good content, for his critique I am amused by it but I can also see his point as well. his video was well done and and not at all a negative session so congrats to you and him

Constructive criticism is one of the most important things to obtain. It is a rare gift because rarely do people criticize in a positive manner even when they are a coach. I would say stay dedicated. It is in a sense a numbers game. When you are shifting into another market in any business, it is going to have a small drop off in views as that still will need to be built out and those viewers will need it. It wouldn't hurt to create a separate channel for that reason to build out that specific one that is outside your niche because the view count and drop off matter for the algorithms and it may result in it not recommending the channel because the niche can hurt you if your niche view watch time goes down. If it doesn't then the shift is good. Otherwise, it is best to make a separate channel to build it out that is tailored to gaming and then have it link to your niche channel as you build out that audience. The person I heard that from was Alanah Pearce's channel who recently moved one of her video groups because the core were disinterested and so she created a separate one so that it could grow separately. Gaming wise if you want a broader audience for it, the best strategy is to look at the fastest growing games on KZfaq or where there is a huge drop off in content creation (Probably the best for entertainment). The high growth is competitive and I don't know where you can find that information but where there is growth in views, there is growth in subs if you can capture a few. Content drop off with no watch time is another big one for any game genre. A lot of times for example BG3, it is still a popular game and well liked and details are still interesting but you have these growth chasers where there will be musicians playing tunes, or see this hidden thing, or what the glitch etc. When they move away from it and find the next it game like Helldivers 2 or Open world battle royale sexy butt game, it leaves a huge gap in content because people will still be playing BG3 or No Man's Sky for a while but the content per watch time will drop more because everyone is chasing the high growth in content. I still Watch Fallout 4 content and Epic Nate's channel or Age of Empires 2 Spirit of the law or what not. There are people who still want to watch Minecraft games or Broblox or what not. But the idea is to grow watch time and have a low drop off ratio, I think. I never tried though. Everyone seems to want to be a KZfaqr but the science of social media algorithms were interesting for an ADHD person myself at that time. I have to go now.
