A short little video today sharing my new Arranbee Nancy doll from the '30s, sent by my friend Siennaflower. I've given her a new special name! 😃

I'm so happy to see Betty in her new home!!! She will be so much more appreciated there, and get to be more herself. While she was an elderly world traveler in my Village, I don't think all the young porcelain dolls gave her full credit for her unique vintage qualities. She was a bit of a misfit and anachronism in the Village. Now, she can be the eternally youthful baby doll she was created to be, and an ambassador of good will from the past into the future from my parents. ❤

Hi Grace🤗 I don't plan to do too much but she does need her arms strung and some light cleaning. I'll have to see what appropriate clothes I might have for her. I love her faded eyes and her open mouth smile. 🥰✨

Hello, I commented above on your beautiful Betty… Also I was able to purchase two Madame Alexander (stamped) dolls for five dollars each I believe they are 1940s when is the classic ballerina doll and the other I don’t have a name for but she is 18 inches and the ballerina is 14 inches… They are in amazing condition However not bending correctly and heads loose. I’m so afraid to do this myself. I don’t know if you would be interested in restringing them for me? Ps the 18 inch tall is in need of some shoes she has everything else❤ just in case you may have something I could purchase for her

Hi! Great find on the Madame Alexander's. I don't know much about them but I got 3 at an estate sale awhile back. Love the 1940s era MAs. That's kind of you to have confidence in my stringing but I'm only a novice and don't really have the confidence or experience to do work for others. I taught myself by watching videos online! I have a few stringing videos too. Some of the Alexander's (and other dolls from this era) are walkers which is something I've not attempted. Most of my dolls don't have shoes either. ebay is a good place to find doll shoes. Let me know how it goes with them. Thanks for stopping by. 🥰✨

@@thedollcupboard thank you for all the advice and I do understand that feeling not feeling confident enough to take on two dolls that you’ve never seen etc.. The ballerina is like a walker, you know, so that is challenging! I never thought of that! It is a lost art. I can’t find anyone… I’ve tried some people off of the MA website and have not gotten a commitment… I guess I can go back and try a few more. Thank you again! Have fun! Next stop, eBay!

Hi Dot the doll is lovely I bought one very similar thinking I could replace her sleeping eyes but I haven’t been able to find any do you know where I can get any and have you got any tips on the best way to fix them in xxxxthanks so much xxx

Hi Wendy🤗 Oh dear, wish I could be of some help. There is a company called Dollspart Supply which is easy to look up online. They have various kinds of eyes. They may have eyes which will work. As for replacing sleep eyes in a compo or plastic doll, I have never done this. It would be difficult I would think because you would have to go up through the neck (so narrow) as opposed to an opening in the head like a bisque doll. Let me know how it goes or if you find any. There are facebook groups also which address repair issues for vintage dolls. 😍✨

Hi Dot thankyou I will get on to Dollspart I’ve tried doing it myself but unsuccessful the original eyes have lost the eye lashes I tried attaching false eyelashes but I didn’t work ahhh so frustrating but your very sweet to help and I’m very grateful I’ll let you know how I get on xxxxx🥰
