A month already passed in 2024. That means 8% of the year is already gone. This year, more than in any other year before, I'm very conscious about my mental state and how it influences my surroundings and everything I do.
Mental peace is crucial in the information-overloaded society we live in, but at the same time, it's as scarce as never before. We are living in a time with a record amount of anxiety and depression spread out in the world.
The stoics were experts in achieving and maintaining serenity. A mental state of peace that allowed them to live a more focused and joyful life, untethered of things that are not in their control. While being focused on what they can change and have influence over, while clarifying their intentions and implementing actions according to their values, they've gained clarity and a calm state of mind.
