How I knew Peacock was gonna do Bel-Air justice was when I saw the Saved by the Bell reboot on Peacock. They seem to have a knack for picking creatives who care about the existing media but can also provide a fresh take on it.

You speaking facts about Fred. His character is so bland I have to be reminded who he is every scene. “Oh yeah right, Lisa’s dad, the cop” “Phil addresses Black men like a white slave master😭” Facts! I thought I was tripping when I said Phil talks DOWN to Black people and then wonders why he can’t win over their votes.

I wasn't gonna watch Bel-Air at first cause I absolutely despise reboot culture but I was pleasantly surprised. I grew up watching the original show and felt Jabari had HUGE shoes to fill but he NAILED IT. I love that they made changes and it actually feels like a totally different show. Favorite characters are definitely Will and Hilary. Fuck Lisa's dad, that yt woman, Carlton for the first several episodes. Geoffrey was a G and that family needs him. I hope he returns! I literally cannot wait for the next season.

This show has a special place in my heart for its use of Philly anthems (Dreams and Nightmares and What We Do.) I love the original and the reboot. I wish more people gave it a chance. It’s fresh (no pun intended).

bel-air was so special to me ! watching will confront his dad was so special to me especially because i'm struggling with deal with a statistic of a father. its really emotionally difficult to like face a parent who has abandoned you and he said everything i have ever wanted to and more . plus the cast is so beautiful like coco, olly, jabari, simone WE ATE GOOD YALL

I loved the remake of this show! It’s completely different from the original but the coolest part is that if you’ve seen the one from the 90’s, you notice the little gems they took and added into the remake. Which makes it that much more interesting!

I had low expectations for Belair & Peacock exceeded virtually all of them. The show is really good; it’s less of a reboot and more of a reimagining and I like that.

It's actually a pretty good show but I typically don't like these kinds of dramas. It's not really a good reboot but it's also not meant to be, it's a re-imagining... Fresh Prince was a sitcom that had some heart and usually decent takes on issues that make it notable and loved. People trashed Bel-Air because it wasn't just a 2022 version of that. I appreciate that the show tried to be it's own thing and it's largely succeeded; the first episode needed to be better to bridge the gap between old fans and the new material but whatever.

I whole heartidly agree with everything that you said. Those were my views when watching the show. I loved and appreciated this show for what it was. My favorite characters were your favorite characters. I'd definitely suggest this show to people. I am excited for the next season.
