Thank you for recognizing Mellie was shat on the entire show. Yeah, she was terrible, but why wouldn't she be when being treated like that by pretty much everyone? Her husband was continually unfaithful, her son was murdered, she was r*ped by her father-in-law, and everyone but her was in charge of her life. When I rewatched the series, watching the episodes one right after the other, it shocked me how Mellie was continuously made miserable.

One thing that ALWAYS bothered me was how often Olivia would stand by her window, drinking a glass of wine, thinking. As if she didn't have multiple people in power that wanted her dead and knew where she was at all times. My thoughts... - Frankie. Let me pour some out for a real one... - Andrew. What a disappointment of a villain. Like i enjoyed the kidnapping storyline but they took him out so easily a few episodes later. Also he was not on Mellies level to be throwing shade at her like the way he did. - James had to die to send a message to Cyrus and anyone else that might’ve been involved with the attempt to expose the election fraud - Edison was a bore - Elizabeth (always thought she was only apart of the show bc Ellen pulled some strings to get her wife some coin...) - David Rosen was alright I think he should’ve died a lot earlier bc his death in the finale was predictable and unnecessary. Also still mad he stole that card low key and HE’S ALSO A HYPOCRITE. He’s kind of like Matt from TVD (the annoying white boy who manages to evade death) at least David did die though- - loved Susan she was funny and smarter than she was given credit for - OMG I LOVED SALLY!!! She was one of the best antagonist of the series tbh and her monologues on her news show were ICONIC and I love when she killed her husband (it was definitely a top ten moment) - Charlie was a great character. He was a bit annoying in the first seasons but I really enjoyed his presence in the final season but I think he had too much screen time towards the end - Harrison was good guy who didn’t deserve to die like that (however the actor who played him deserved unemployment) - Marcus was so annoying and a hypocrite and his little relationship with Mellie was weak i liked her with the bashran President more - I LOVE HUCK he was the funniest, had some of the best storylines, and he had the best character development out of all the characters on the series - Quinn was always out of place in the series but when she became a killer and had a relationship with Charles I loved that for her. To bad her past 2 boyfriends died tho- - pais and white lady. So incredibly irrelevant!! They really put this plan together for years and Olivia got they ass in a matter of a few weeks - Jake. I really don’t know how some people were team Jake because this man didn’t have a single thought or personality that Olivia didn’t approve of (but I feel bad that he came from a broken home) - Papa Pope was the best in the show. His monologues especially the one where he dragged Fitz to fifth was especially enjoyable. Man needs to get some help tho. Black ppl we really need to start believing in therapy bc Eli needed some of that and probably would’ve had a better life he went to some sessions. - Maya Pope literally never backstabbed anyone. She let everyone know who she was it was everyone else’s fault for believing that she was a good person. - fitz. The definition of white mediocrity. He was so unbelievably pathetic and bad as a president and tried to pretend to be a good guy. He was also a terrible husband and father. Like your a grown man stop blaming your father for your issues. Also he was the root of almost every problem. - Mellie Grant. She does have blood on her hands but only for the bus thing and that was low key indirectly her fault. I did feel for Mellie though fitz was a terrible husband to her, actually his whole bloodline was terrible. I’m glad she got to President tho (good for her)! She also had the best character growth in the series. - CYRUS. Say what you want about Cyrus but he was the most scandalous character on the series. He was the best villain in the series, and I kind of wanted him to win. He also knew every move to make, and definitely the scariest character on the series. I loved him with Michael they were kind of cute together (ngl). He was also kind of cute with Tom. Wish Tom and him had more of a relationship. Plus the show would’nt be good if he was involved. - Abby. I hated Abby. She was so fake, and was better in the earlier seasons. And Abby was not a big dog she always needed someone else’s support or tried to steal someone else’s power (it worked for a little but failed miserably sooner or later). - Olivia. I have a love hate relationship with Olivia. 1) she’s a badass in the first few seasons and actually had somewhat of a moral compass and then that was completely destroyed when she engaged in a pissing match with Cyrus and her father and became thirsty for power. 2) she’s a hypocrite she acted like she was better than everyone else and then did things that the people she treated below her would’ve and had done. 3) her monologues were iconic. Idc she had the best reads on the series especially the “fluffer” scene that she deserved miss Kerry Washington an Emmy. 4) at least she stands up for her and didn’t take shit from anyone and always had a plan 5) LETS BE VERY REAL she couldn’t make a bag of shit President. Fitz’s first election was rigged. His second election was only won because his son died. And Mellie only became president by default. 5) she had some iconic moments like when she took over B613. 6) it was completely messy of her to sleep with a married man repeatedly and go to brunch with her wife. And trying to make up for her all the adultery by making her president. Like girl you can’t apologize for taking her man by making her president that’s weird. 7) Also I don’t like how she was bending over backwards for these white republicans. 8) SHE WAS A DAMN GOOD MISTRESS the way Fitz couldn’t go his job let alone exist when she left which resulted in Mellie having to beg her to take him back! Her 😺 is the definition of talented!
