@@laurasanya I’d say it was less of a specific arc and more of just growth over the seasons, which is more realistic in my opinion. She grew a lot throughout her relationship with Drew, it really changed her and made it possible for Bianca to become her best self. I guess you could consider her relationship with Drew the arc? Just a very long one

@@believeinbuffalo I don't want to give away spoilers under this video, but I had 4 main "themes" to come up with, research & write about. (facing social issues, diversity, validation, and mental health) And if you've seen this season, you know there was a lot of subject matter to write about. I had to watch the whole season twice, which was taxing (lol, like 40+ episodes), but my prof used a random number generator to make it easier on me. It really allowed me to analyze scenes differently from my initial watch years ago. Unfortunately, it's not published, but It was a project I really enjoyed!

I lowkey forgot that they never got into Marisols family. Degrassi never really deep dives into the lives of their Black characters. The only Black family that we see regularly is Liberty’s. They did ONE episode on Hazel and we saw glimpses into Jimmy’s family but it was nothing in comparison to the other families.

It took me a while to realize how trash KC really was. He ignored Jenna until like the 8th month of her pregnancy, was barely there to raise his son, and then emotionally blackmailed Jenna for giving them their lives back by giving up their baby, who KC didn’t even want in the first place!! It’s wild that you were in 7th grade during these seasons. I kept up with the show, but as I mentioned, my high school graduating class was actually 07, the class Emma, Manny and Liberty graduated in. I kept watching though and I just finished my 4th rewatch of the entire series. Holly J was one of my favorite characters in the entire series. The writers definitely wrote her character wonderfully. The show went downhill after Holly J’s class graduated (season 12) in my opinion.

I was really upset they didn't give Riley a relationship with Peter. Having Peter be bi would have been a cool representation and I feel like they were setting that up and never pulled the trigger on it.

Definitely. This is something degrassi kept setting up, but never went through with. Something similar happened with Craig and Marco where one of the actors said an early version of the script had the beginnings of a romance for them, but the next updated script removed it completely.

Adam is one of my favorite characters, specifically LGBT+ characters. I would've like if the show introduce more trans people like non-binary, transexual/transgender, and adrogyny to educate young viewers more about the trans experience and different type of trans people under the transgender umbrella. I really didn't like how they killed his character. His sudden death was completely unnecessary like JT's.

The actor that played JT wanted JT to die because he was leaving the show and wanted his character to go out with a bang and I mean it wasn't unnecessary if it had an real impact on people and I feel like it was same with the actress that plays Adam I prefer the show giving us moments where the character leaves in a way that would be remembered especially big characters like JT and Adam instead of replacing the actor or giving the character some lame storyline like they have to move out the country or move schools cause of whatever reason

idk if this is true but I heard that the reason why they killed off Adam was because the actress who played him was cis and he was getting ready to go on hormones and all so they couldn’t really do much with that storyline

@@passthebutter6037 Also Jordan was distancing herself from the other actors and the show. She was most likely going through stuff at the time. So even tho Adam's death was a shock. It did seem like Jordan didn't want to continue with the show. Also they really couldn't come up with a reason to get Adam out of the show without making the fans mad. Which is sad as he had so much going for him.
