You felt that was believable? I don't. It comes across as *very* staged to me. Like it's a big production for money. It reminds me of going to a restaurant or theme park where the staff is doing everything technically correct but their heart just isn't in it. It shows so hard and cringe. I'd honestly prefer that they just be real and relax at that point. Oh, and like visiting gentlemen clubs and interacting with a dancer who is over it. The fake portrayal of attraction is just so off putting.

About 12 years ago, there was an episode of Japanese comedy-reality show 'DD-Boys' with a similar setup, where one of the less outgoing and more sheltered actors/participants (a native Japanese boy himself) was set a challenge for which he had to go and work for a few days as a bishounen dating cafe escort, and he was absolutely terrified, overwhelmed and bewildered by the experience. So clearly, this isn't just strange and a culture shock for Westerners or those foreign to Japan---some actual locals think it's weird as hell, too.

This has to be one of the best videos on KZfaq. I just love how the set-up doesn't affect the content at all. Too often people take themselves way too seriously. I'm a hetero white male. When Momo first appeared I was like, ☺ he is so cute! I love how they make you feel reassured and cared for. In a way I felt like emotional because they are so young. But I can tell they have gone through some stuff and are pretty serious about their job.
