love LOVE the Stanley Clarke School Days easter egg. YES SIR i heeeerd that! The lineup on that whole album is just a slaughter. Duke etc..and Billy Cobham and Steve Gadd on the same album should be outlawed. Just bought this bass and arriving on the morrow. Really like your channel and gonna get into it when time permits Sir. Cheers.

I picked up the same bass the other day after playing the other brands and styles so many times. They are very nice! It would take awhile for me to get used to the string tension, but I was impressed. You could play anything and make it sound good.

Glad it worked for you! It's a real "good-to-go" bass! And thanx!

I love short scale. I have a Sire U5 - I think it's the lower string tension. Great fun.
@maxproud2 жыл бұрын
I think the lower tension makes playing a little faster per se. It strengthens fingers. Bending notes may be a bit struggling.

Facts I played a walnut Micro an never forgot about it might go back an get one the neck is cool 2
@maxproud2 жыл бұрын
It wouldn't hurt. The short scale brings a few perks. It's easy playing. It's a good travel bass. It's a great back up bass. And it's usually light weight!

This GSRM20 is an excellent instrument. I've read that some of the newer ones are made with a Poplar body. While older GSRM20 and 25's where made with a mahogany body. Similar Janka hardness, similar weight.

Those reverse P pickups are great for slap bass.
@maxproud2 жыл бұрын
It surely seems so. I have wondered if that Pbass configuration made a sound difference?
@latonyahemingway37522 жыл бұрын
@@maxproud I believe so. This has been my experience . I first noticed it years ago on the Yamaha BB series of basses. Some of the best PJ basses ever made.

Hey man, great playing, I love the sound. I was wandering, would You recommend this bass to someone with large hands? I want to buy my first bass after falling in love with the instrument a few years back, and I was eyeballing this one, but I've heard many opinions that it's great for people with small hands. Would it work for the big-handed folk too?
@maxproud Жыл бұрын
Firstly it's a matter of you. I could recommend some things. But you'd have to physically play the bass to know how it feels. With a shorter neck scale with bigger hands. Physically play may be easier and comfortable. Then again it may be cumbersome with very thick hands. You just have to find out. Do you have access to this instrument at a store?
@SnarkyRC2 жыл бұрын
Dang that bass shrunk in the wash. I've seen them kicking around for years. It sounds fine but, personally I wouldn't pay over $110 for that little guy. Honestly though if I was going to pick up a short scale bass, I'd get a SX short scale. They always have slick deals on them.

Short scales not bad at all I have one, I have the Fender p j mustang. That one you were just playing sounds tight... And the price is not bad at all either wish I had it here now to play, I'm detoxing from my bass I traveled without my bass I wasn't comfortable with bringing it on aircraft what do think about that? Well why I'm going through bass detox, hating it, I like to play every day. I couldn't imagine a world without the bass guitar.....God bless you.

Is that an original Mustang you have? Or one of those Squier models?
