Nice to have this upload from iChase. Good stuff, even if we are not REQUIRED to agree with every Oort and leaving. This at least presents that there ARE considerations and choices to be made. Please consider that even to this day, WoWs does not really have an integrated series of 'How to's for the beginning player, and even though it took me the not too bright many months, I did finally stumble across iChase and others who cared enough to lay down some videos that posited many 'Did you know that a player can ..." WoWs, and WG had really given nothing, CC's like iChase gave much to us newbies. I've not gotten that much better than I was at the beginning, but with the help of some of our better CCs the game certainly has become more comprehensible and enjoyable that it was without what they contribute. I really don't think that the weak and cheap shots taken (e.g."uh, dummy, WG is going to change things, snarf, snarf!") were appropriate. Anything to help players as early in the process as possible is a good thing.

Do triple rudder sometime its hilarious, 2.8s shift. You can wiggle like a mad man, even helps when rushing someone down. Gotta get used to a 11km detection tho.

@@hailitalia86 My rudder is already at 3.3, so it's basically DD level. But you have to give up range to get it, it isn't worth it for me because 18.8km is barely enough for my playstyle.

I have to disagree on a few things here iChase. The double rudder mod is a viable thing for ships like a 155mm Mogami played in open water shooting all the time. You want to keep shooting so stealth mod just doesn´t give you anything beside the 5% dispersion malus. There, and i will grand that it is a rare case, the stealth mod is pretty useless for most of the time. The auxilliary mod 1 upgrade is pretty usefull on BBs that don´t lose their main gins often.(french being the exception) This safes aa and sec mounts for later in the game which is pretty good with the many CVs that are around these days.

It´s a few added modules, 2 major changes for the normal ones and a few changes for the speciel (coal) ones so far.

I'm new to WoWS and this video series have bean immensely helpful. It has helped me as a newbie to improve, and I am very thankful for that. Could there be a video later that focuses on concealment? As its benefits not very apparent to newbies like me, especially since concealment doesn't have any effect in Co-op where I try to train and get better.

7:44 - Auxiliary armaments mod increases the survivability of your AA mounts as well as your secondaries which you didn't mention for some reason. Very situational on what ships you might wanna opt for Aux mod instead of main battery mod, but for me I chose to run Aux mod instead of main on my GK because obviously I want her secondaries to survive longer with all the HE spam in this game now, but it clearly would benefit me to keep as much of my AA active as possible as well. I realized I literally cannot recall the last time I even had a main battery turret get knocked out while playing my GK so I took the risk on that to have secondaries and AA mounts that survive longer. If a main turret does get damaged go down for a bit it's usually only when I'm knife fighting at 6km or less away from another BB and I'll usually also be burning or flooding as well at the time so typically my damage control party will either be up already or be up shortly, and I'll just fix the turret with that or worse case scenario just wait the 20 seconds or so it takes for the main battery turret to repair itself. So it's just brawling secondary ships where I've made that call to use aux in slot 1 instead of main battery mod so just my GK and Mass B at the moment.

Your logic for Concealment is fine and works well for CA/CL. However, here is a counter argument. I have built my USN BB Iowa with increased range and a dispersion buff. Yes, I took Target Acquisition, Artillery Plotting Room Mod 1 & 2. It has a range of 27.1 km and a 23% dispersion buff. If they can't acquire you as a target and shoot at you, what does it matter if they can see you?

Sniper BBs aren't really viable(as least for Iowa) if you are aiming to get 60+% solo winrate at T10. You have to push towards the within 14km distance from your nearest cap to waste opponent's dpm(and increase your own effective dpm) on you when your detected by their DDs, and then you disengage, get undetected and heal back. If you can do this 5 times(the max amount of heals you can get), you will likely win the match. The key to disengaging is to make sure your ship's sailing path is already angling away from the enemy by the time you are detected, and even then disengaging is simply not possible if you run a TA mod instead of concealment mod. And all your dispersion buff talk is ignoring the fact that concealment mod also increases enemy dispersion against you, so your real dispersion buff is only 18% not 23% vs the targets that really matter(aka good players), and you lose out that 5% protection yourself. Extra 5% dispersion buff for 10% concealment and 5% increase dispersion from enemy? No thanks. The only real reason I would run a TA mod on a BB is when the T10 meta is extremely CV heavy, which meant concealment on BB is impossible. But that is unlikely going to happen again as TA mod is going to be reworked/removed in 0.9.1(proves that WG agrees that TA mod is weak).

@@ccloak I hear what you are saying, and your case for concealment is good. What I normally do in my tier 9 IOWA is play defensively early game and frustrate the enemy with harassment fire. I move forward mid to late game when to take advantage of the power of the IOWA's guns, when the remainder of the enemy are weakened and their strategy revealed. Yes, losing out on the 5% enemy dispersion fire is sad, but it then depends on how you play the advantages that you have decided to take. Yes, they will change it 0.9.1, and I will then probably change the build, but for now I am having fun with this build and being successful with it. Thanks for your reply and thoughts.

They did buff Main battery mod 2 in the latest update, it's viable now, though admittedly not as good as aiming systems and is still situational.

I use double rudder in Russian dds in which concealment is not as important, like Tashkent and Khabarovsk. Also Azuma, to dodge shells at long range. I use range mod for Zao, and for a while Hindenburg.

There's something I have noticed, maybe you can test also and confirm this (or not), but is something that I've observed mostly with BB's. So the most often condition where you can encounter this is especially when a new ship is unlocked/bought in the tree and due credit issues could not upgrade immediately the modules for it. But you can still go into the battle without the accuracy module especially. And you may notice the dispersion was much better without the module than after, with it. Cannot explain it, very strange, then after buying and mounting the module the dispersion gets noticeably worse. I observed this with multiple lines/tiers of BB's . It looks like there is a global value, a "default" that comes preloaded with each new ship. Only after the module is applied the ship's specific algorithm is applied that changes values according to the ship "specification", eg: dispersion. From computing point of view this makes sense to have a generic value as initial stat, a common stat variable, instead of hardcoded values for each ship, as probably wg always considered that people will not play the ships without any modules, thus has not bothered to create a new set of hardcoded values specific to each ship. As anything can be programmed in the game back-end from computational point of view it would not surprise me to have just reused the same set of default values, or to be just a bug in the code or just some simple programming routine that loads the same generic values to be re-used for all ships once unlocked. WG knows that people will buy the modules as soon as possible so this might not even be detected very often. What do you think?

Are the modules you show for aircraft for CVs available in the PC console version? I don't see anything like that when I select modules

2:20 you're right, but.... that means you can't shot either. the very best is to shoot and not get hit in return and therefore double rudder is more usefull than concealment. that is a fact, not an opinion ;) but yes, you should only use it on very selected ships(cruiser) with good concealment anyway and depents on your playstyle with these specific ships. for me, mogami is the only one i use it.

some ships are better with double rudder/acceleration bc theyre shooting all the timr anyways, and dodging shells is better

Wait why shouldnt we take the main battery rotate module? I take it on my IJN cruiser line because of their slow turret traverse and with he spammers i dont really think the extra accuracy matters when they aready have decent dispersion.

Slot 5: a few cases to take the rudder shift: Gunboat dds (since they dodge exceptionally well and shoot almost constantly from a safe distance) IJN cruisers, since you are already very stealthy, and dodging shells help with survivability Having less conceal also force you to play safer which might be a good thing for squishy ships. Target acquisition: 1v1 ranked and meme builds only where you don't care about being spotted and can't / doesn't need to slot rudder shift.

Slot 3, main battery traverse speed: use that if you are a DD with very bad turret traverse, like IJN and lower tier Russian dds, and you don't spec into turret traverse skill for ship build reasons.

Slot 2: if you can slot Engine boost / Radar duration, you probably want to. If you are DD, slot engine survival. For cruisers with squishy rudder, use rudder survival. For other cases dmg con is great.

Slot 1: if you are bb with sturdy turrets, consider slotting AA/secondary survival for better AA late game. If you use spotter plane a lot for extra range, consider spotting plane duration. don't touch the detonation reduction. Signal's better for dds, other ships rare need them in random/coop/scenario.

Will you make a new episode if they really change the modules? As it seems that they will remove the concealment module. You go onto this more explaining, not precise on modules, but there will be changed a lot it seems.

They don´t remove the concealment module. They replace the target aquisition systems module.

This may be a stupid question but how do you get more modules to put on your ships, or is not likely to have enough modules to fit out all your ships at once when starting out?

You click the [ + ] in the equipment menu for a ship you own. Lower tiers have limited slots available. You need credits to purchase modules. If you need to change out an attached module, you can right click the attached module to sell it. The alternative is spending doubloons to "demount" the module, which will send it to your inventory so you can attach it to some other ship (for free). So demount spends doubloons to save the module you want to remove instead of getting 50% of its credit purchase price back. Hope this helps you or someone else

Shouldn't you go for Aux.Arm. Mod I in ships like Worcester because your AA is awesome and you should preserve it, and you don't care that much about one of your turrets being knocked out?

Thank you for these videos, very informative. As for aiming mod in slot 3,is nessary for dds since they have great desperation? , how about AA mod for dds with good AA such as grozovoi and Friesland?

Still aiming mod in slot 3 for DDs, mostly because when you are in a knife fight with a DD, you want every shell you can to land on that enemy DD. More shells hit, more likely you come out of the engagement alive.

Italian, french and russian cruisers all have ruddershift builds, your going to be firing from range anways so concealment isnt going to help

Stealth module is mandatory for DD CL and to some extent CA even if some Italian cruiser gets so huge that they rivals tier IX BB, but for BB (huge ones) I think the current CV meta made it no more the automatic choice. Yamato, Republic or GK (but also Amagi) are such huge ships that they are spotted for at least 3/4 of the match duration because you have to keep firing your guns and the problems gets worse in the last stages when few ships are around and the remaining ones are actively hunted by CV. In that case I think there are other viable modules. This been said, WG is thinking about redesigning most of the modules in the next patch, so I wonder if this video will still get relevant in a few months.

Realistically the modules and captain skills for each ship doesnt really have much variety with the way how the game is atm except maybe for dds and that class is dead at the moment anyways

5:41 Look I get you’re talking about things in general, but taking range on Moskva over reload (assuming no leg mod) is extremely cringy. Big yikes right there. Might want to avoid comments like that.
