Do you really know how to identify crabgrass in a lawn? Most people think they do but in actuality, crabgrass can look slightly different in different lawns and at different stages of maturity.
Many people don't even realize there are different types of crabgrass or that an infestation of crabgrass can almost look like a healthy mat of desirable turf grass.
This video should give you three distinct steps you can take to identify the crabgrass that is living in any lawn about 99% of the time.

Because I only have a couple smallish patches of crabgrass and a few spots here and there of persistent nutsedge I decided to use a hose-end bottle of Spectracide w/ Quinclorac. The Quicnclorac is what kills the crabgrass, the sulfentrazone attacks the sedges, and the other ingredients target the broadleaf weeds.
Nothing in the bottle is very potent so you won't get a full kill but for the price, simplicity, and broadspectrum focus of the product it made sense for me.
For truly bad cases of crabgrass then a straight Quinclorac application would be in order for most lawns except for St Augustine and Centipede.

After a round of quinclorac to a few small clumps last year, the crabgrass is seemingly less invasive this year, but still hand pull any I see asap before they produce seed heads, they are pretty easy to pull the whole root and all if you gather all the stems together and grab right near the central base of the plant. I ty to grab just the undesirable plant without taking any good grass along out with it, so that the good turf will continue. I have thickened up the rest of the lawn and it has helped suppress it to a large degree.
