Exactly right. Both are in the wrong. You ALWAYS turn into your lane for this very reason. And, of course, you shouldn't run red lights. So even though SUV ran the red light, the cammer would have been fine if they'd turned properly.

yes you can say that by the distance of cars, but most likely it was yellow when he crossed it which at that speed its more dangerous to stop immediately than to keep going, its even on the LICENSE TEST...

@@amandak.4246 I always check my blind spot, but I almost had an accident once when someone moved into my blind spot as I was starting to get over. Next thing I knew, I was jerking the wheel back to the lane I was in because the driver who was further back when I checked my blind spot was suddenly passing me in that lane while honking at me. And I couldn't see any reason for such a move beyond the driver just wanting to get ahead of me at the last second. A little courtesy on the road goes a long way toward preventing accidents. When I see that someone in the lane next to mine wants to get over, I make as much of an allowance for them as I safely can.

@@TruBluLew23 no, driving with winter tires is vastly different from driving with all seasons tires. Especially with roads that are snow packed. If you ever drove with them you’d feel the control you have. Especially when moving from a red light.

I don't think the initial collision was the fault of the cammer. They did turn into the other car, but I find that preferable to being pushed off the road, IMO. But yes, they did turn into them, and I can see how that could look pretty bad for insurance purposes... but I doubt they'd be found at fault for the initial impact.

Like in the time you’re just laying on the horn you could also be on the brakes. It appeared the tow truck had both normal and wideview on their mirror. Plus the mirror didn't seem to be facing the correct direction to view the lane next to them, mostly down the side of the truck.

I get the feeling a lot of this was recorded just for KZfaq clout. It’s hard to tell how much of this is genuine, and how much is just people looking for sympathy, or to start something.

Who says he lost? The other person did hit the cammer first; cammer turned into them, making things a lot worse, but I actually support this as opposed to getting pushed off the road. It's also stupid because the two lanes continued on for more than long enough for the other driver to get into a position where that wouldn't have happened. But yes... the cammer turned into the car after the initial contact.

Doesn't look like the cam car intentionally hit the other car after being hit. Most likely over corrected after being hit, you can see for a split second the cam car turning towards the shoulder before turning more into the car that hit them. 100% other driver's fault. That being said, cam car could have hit the brakes to avoid the whole thing, and let the other driver just be an asshole.

It's normal to feel scared, as long as you're always focused and keep an eye on the cars around you, you should be fine! 90% of the time you can predict exactly what people are going to do and as long as you drive defensively you'll more than likely be alright :)

How was it this Greg dudes fault and how did he hit her? The mazda clearly changed lanes into his car and it was their fault. And the “intentional pit maneuver” was probably the cammer trying not to get run off the road.

I'd take a hit to my ego and practice defensive driving before I'd intentionally get into an accident to assert my legality about her merging into me. being "right" isn't worth missed days of work, car in the repair shop, diminished resale value because of an accident on the record and higher insurance rates especially if the other driver doesn't have insurance.

We have no public transportation here. Could be 10 - 20 miles between towns. If you fail car inspection you can't drive said vehicle until repairs are done. Then you can't get to work, school, grocery store, doctor appointments. So glad they stopped inspection several years ago. Plus all these catalytic converter thefts - you'd be stuck replacing a $300 - $400 part on minimum wage with reduced hours.

Regular old summer tires work just fine in the winter if you don't drive like it's summer... Or a nice set of ATs and some 4wd...take your pick...

BTW, what do you "get" about California? There's a big mountain range, down it's entire length, that can receive feet of snowfall in places...why wouldn't they "need" snow tires? Stay in you lane, kid...literally.
