Situational awareness is truly key. I can not count how many times I was able to avoid an accident because I was ten seconds ahead of the entire situation.

Honestly I find that immediate pause after an accident has happened kinda funny. Like everyone including those who weren't involved immediately stop and everyone's like, "Oh. Oh fuck."

One of the first things I was taught when learning how to drive was know what’s going on around you , and look far ahead down the road. There are more and more and even more people these days driving and don’t have clue what’s going on around them. What the hell are you doing if you can’t see that traffic is slow or stopped ahead of you. People running red lights, people slowing down in the street for nothing ahead of traffic , get the hell off the phones and look at what’s going on around you! It’s the same mentality as stuff happening to people while they are head down looking at their phones walking down the street.

I've been driving since 1977. I've never had an accident because my mother taught me one thing: respect all the rules and never trust others to do the same, always drive defensively. As I am my own mechanic, I save money on prevention, my cars are always in good shape and I have never had a mechanical failure driving.

I even counted the shadows to the right of them in case there is a hidden one, but still only count 3 shadows, and then the white car, #4. Cammer dodges semi at 3:46 but still gets clipped, and there are still only 3 black ones and then the white one. 3:47 the Semi takes the Jeep with it, stuck on the front. At 3:49 there are clearly 3 black cars plied up on the left as the Semi trailer goes by, and then the white car #4. BUT, there should be only 2 Black vehicles now, because the black Jeep is still stuck to the front of the Semi, which you can see here at 3:52. Where did the EXTRA black car on the LEFT come from??? Was it alongside the Semi-Trailer when the Semi hit the Jeep? I think it was ALSO speeding and tried to miss the Semi by going to the inside Left, but got caught by the other 2 that got wiped aside in the process of the Jeep getting nailed. Anyone else notice this?? At 3:50 it also looks like the white car blew a radiator hose, or worse, trying to get out of the way!

The kids and the trashcan really pissed me off. I have been dealing with some people who won't own their own shortcomings lately. This attitude of apathy and lack of empathy for those you have harmed is rampant. When I was a kid, people owned their mistakes, used the lesson to become better people and apologized then proved they mean it by cleaning up the mess. This hit and run isn't the worst I have seen by far but it is the second worse in attitude. The first one has held its winning streak because instead of a trash can, it was an elderly lady that was hit. They got out of the car, checked on her then sped off without a gfy. Sad. I am grateful for the cameras though. they bust the guilty and keep honest people honest.
