Hawing only watched the anime, by griffith doing wrong i am asuming it refers to the demonic ritual at the end of the prologe. I can actualy imagaine a senario where this is valid altough some conjectures would hawe to be true. To me Grifiths main driving forces was pursuing his dream and honoring the sacrefices his followers made pursuing his dream by pursuing his dream/ not letting their sacrefice be in vain. In the scene before the demon ritual it semed as if fate was seting up the circumstances where the demon ritual would happen and only gave Grifith the knowledge of what was to happen when it was to late for Grifith to stop it, hence his aperent regret/fear as his followers are aproaching him to what would be the site of the ritual. At this point Grifith has a choice, play along whit the ritual and gain the power to achive his dream or not, If at this point Grifith wholy belives/knows that his followers are domed regardless of what he does then it becomes a choice of wether to honor his followers sacrefice or not. Thus Grifith is honoring the sacrefices of his followers by taking part in the ritual, taking upon himself the trauma that is breaking and defiling them in order to honor them.

Aren't animes technically cartoons though? Anime is Japanese animation. Every animated show is considered a cartoon so what makes anime not a cartoon? and don't even say "Calling it a cartoon is calling it a kid's show and there are a lot of animes that aren't for kids" Something being a cartoon doesn't instantly mean it's for kids. look at Family Guy, South Park, Rick and Morty, and Big Mouth. To be honest if you are going go by the manga and ln I think it’s up there. Especially the romance between Roxy and Eris I think it was pretty good. Edit: I don’t mean Roxy and Eris love each other but the way they displayed their affection for Rudy was pretty nice
