If I am always going to sin, how do I restore my fellowship with God?

Our listener asks, "One question I have that can hopefully be
addressed in our next conversation is this: If sin
breaks fellowship with God, how do we know
once our fellowship is restored if we are always
going to sin this side of eternity? I’ve become addicted to certain sinful habits and have
prayed much about it, but still have the struggle.
Could this be a sign that I’ve become a
reprobate, even as a saved person? My problem
is this is just very painful. The pain seems to be unbearable. Things are just very heavy, and I’m
looking for hope. Best regards."

Trust me when I say this. God can use a lot of different ways to chasten you. He will allow you to make major mistakes because you didn't seek or have His guidance. You pray and the heavens seem like nobody's listening and they go unanswered. He may even end your physical life in some instances. However, the worst thing is to lose the joy of your salvation. God will make you miserable until you get right with Him. Giving lip service to confession of sins will do you no good. God knows when you mean it and when you secretly plan on going out in a few minutes or hours and repeating your pet sins. You WILL know whether or not you've been forgiven and cleansed. It will be as clear as can be. First John 1:4 "And these things write we unto you, that your JOY may be full." Psalms 51:12 " Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit." If you have no joy and peace from God in your life you need to find out why.

Hello from Russia. I have the same problem. I think I sinned Galatians 5:4 type of a sin and now severed and Paul says, that once you severed you cannot come back to Christ. I think this happened to me. (Don’t feel that heart of flesh inside anymore that releases Grace to my whole being, and it’s been since September 2021). Does that mean I am finished. Galatian 5:4 discussions on KZfaq very evasively answering this question. Could you address that ? I am in anxiety concerning my security. If not eternal( but this also), earthy restoration for sure. Thank you

Hey there! We should totally do a video on this verse. Nevertheless, I’ll give you an answer that I pray helps you. The context is extremely important. The Galatians were saved, and you can even see that he reiterates that idea in verse 1 (“stand fast in the LIBERTY wherewith Christ hath made us FREE”). The previous chapters began the case of telling the Galatians to not go back under the law (because it isn’t what saved them to begin with). They were literally being influenced by Judaizers (false gospel preachers) that they needed to add the law to their faith in Christ in order to be (or stay) saved. Paul is explaining to them that they were saved by FAITH in CHRIST ALONE (check 2:16 - that’s powerhouse Bible), therefore, they need not add to this by trying to keep the law. See, the law is bondage that entangles because it points you to your sin. Notice 3:24 (“the law is our schoolmaster”) and another scripture states that it is the “knowledge of sin.” The law was intended to point us to Christ (by grace through faith without works), but the Galatians (who had faith) wanted to ADD to that simple message. This then led them to the idea of “falling from grace,” because they were adding BONDAGE to the gospel message. Salvation is a one time event in which the unbeliever BELIEVES in Jesus Christ for the full payment of their sin. Notice the prior verses to 5:4 claim that the law is of no profit (circumcision, etc..) but we see 5:5 that we wait for the hope of righteousness by FAITH. We are justified (and we look forward to going to heaven when we die) by FAITH. My Russian friend, If you have believed in Christ as your savior, then you ARE SAVED RIGHT NOW. Falling from grace is not a statement of loss of salvation. It is a believer being swindled into ADDING to the gospel message. This actually caused the Galatians to doubt their own salvation (which is what Paul is fighting against) and they were trying to keep the law as though they needed more than just FAITH in Christ. I hope this helps. If I need to clarify more, I will try. Blessings from Tampa, - Trent

Thank you for having read this. I want to add: I previously had that flesh that was filling my body, that flesh at the same time was being filled by Grace and I felt bodily being rooted in Heaven. You could tell me anything back then, but I knew I was secure, felt it with my whole being. This is gone.

@@BibleLine Pertaining believing in Christ as My Savior … That’s how it happened to me. At 9 yo baptism. EOC = no catechism, no explanation what Salvation is, and need to ignore the outside “urges” of the law( coming of course from satan). When I was 20, I asked God just to take me out, cuz being a “good guy” didn’t let me fit in, only brought frustration. And this solicitation of mine resulted in full blown Isaiah chapter 6 born again experience, with burning coal dropping into my insides and burning the thistles, and that thick gold honey Grace pouring inside out, filling my room. And I was standing in my room. And satan showed up( a bully called and I saw a grey ever moving stinky cloud in front of me. And the guy was asking to borrow him an item. I didn’t want to, but legalism prevailed( I thought I would sin against that New Grace if I didn’t comply with the polite stranger voice from outside. I got confused between Grace and law). So right after that born again experience satan latched onto me, as soon as I went outside and lent the item to the guy. So I listened to the “second” voice. And since then satan was tricking me day by day to back of from doing something under the premise of law (right or wrong) even when Grace was saying “go ahead and do it”. That was gradually separating me from Grace. And I didn’t understand what was going on. Up until September 2021. When like some string inside of me broke. And I started to try to understand what it was. What I was doing wrong. What is Grace, what is Law. Why “the strength of sin is the law”. And now, Yes, I am trying to learn what it is to Trust Jesus Chris for my Salvation. Hope is, it’s not to late. Cuz I was doing everything the opposite, giving myself an “A+” for cooperating with the enemy to tear me away from Christ. Hope it’s not to late. Thank you for you videos.

@@BibleLine Can falling from Grace be restored ? Or you from then on only Eternal Salvation remains? PS life without GRACE is suffering. Thank you.

To “Trust Jesus Christ for salvation” is just that; have you believed in Jesus Christ (that he died for YOU to pay for your sin) as your Savior? If so, you were saved in that moment AND you remain saved. This is true because the moment you believe, about 50 things happen. You’re justified, sanctified, sealed with the Spirit, you become a child of God, etc… If you were to get tripped up like the Galatians, and you go back under the idea that the law saves, yes you can be restored. This restoration is not a restoration of salvation, but it’s really just clearing up the confusion. The Galatians had false teachers confusing them. Paul was trying to remind them that they were already saved by faith. They needed to therefore serve God by walking in that grace they had received (not to be saved, but because they are saved already). The law doesn’t save you my friend, but Jesus saves you the moment you believe. See 1 John 5:10-13. - Trent

This washed down gospel is why we have people locked up in sin. God does not take your life because you are living a life completely opposite if him. Sir you were never part of him. Matthew 7:23

What EXACTLY is the gospel? You claim he is watering down the GOSPEL, but it's very, very clear you don't know what the GOSPEL actually is. It is only defined in one place in the entire Bible and it's not in Matthew 7, but in First Corinthians 15:1-4. The gospel is a MESSAGE about the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ the Son of God who died for our sins on the cross. We are only saved from hell by faith in what He alone did for us, not by what we do for Him. You pulled Matthew 7:23 out of context as many thousands upon thousands have done. You pay no attention to what the passage is actually saying. You do not understand that verse. The people in that passage saying, "Lord, Lord" were depending on their own good works to save them. They thought that the things they DID FOR GOD would get them into heaven. Do YOU believe the same as them? It sure sounds like you do. If so, you will one day hear the same thing as they did. I challenge you to read the passage carefully and prayerfully. I doubt you can, but prove me wrong. Come on, this is a real challenge. Prove what I'm saying is a lie. Here's a link to the passage. Put up or shut up. bible.timelesstruths.org/Matthew+7:21-23

You are hiding one biblical Truth because it is contradicting your theology. The truth is that living in Sin without repentence can cause LOSS of salvation. 1 John 3:15 "Anyone who hates a brother or sister is....NO....eternal life RESIDING in him"
@BibleLine

Yes, the flesh will not inherit eternal life. The Spirit does because the Spirit cannot sin. If you use 1 John, you must account for the part that says “whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin” - not one single act of sin. Thats 1 John 3:9. Your flesh dies, but your spirit will live forever in heaven upon faith in Jesus. - Trent

@@BibleLine You have misquoted the verse 1John 3:9. It DOES NOT say "whosever is born of God doth not commit sin", but it DOES say: "No one born of God makes a PRACTICE of sinning, for God’s seed abides in him and he cannot KEEP ON SINNING, because he has been born of God". This verse proves that your entire theology is FALSE. It looks like you are assuming that YOUR spirit is same as the HOLY SPIRIT. It is not true. Your spirit is YOUR person. Holy Spirit is the person of GOD. You can sin, Holy Spirit can't. If you CONTINUE in sin, you have lost your eternal life. Plain and Simple.
@BibleLine
@BibleLine Жыл бұрын
The word is not “prasso” (practice), but it is “poieo” (commit). The KJV translators did perfectly fine here. You are correct in that our spirit differs with the Holy Spirit. Nevertheless, upon belief in Christ you are sealed with the Spirit (Eph 1:12-14) and he remains until the day of redemption (Eph 4:30). He also bears witness with our spirit (Romans 8). Therefore when we choose to walk in the Spirit (Gal 5:16) we are not sinning. If we walk in the flesh, we are sinning. The flesh cannot inherit the kingdom of God, but the Spirit can. The only way you are born again is by faith (John 3). Once born, you don’t become unborn just because you decide to fall away into practicing sin. - Trent

@@BibleLine KJV is not wrong, but YOUR interpretation of what KJV says is wrong. KJV uses this phrase: "...doth not commit" which in greek reads DOES COMMIT/PRACTICES ( poiei) NOT(ou) SIN (hamartian). Poiei=DOES. It indicates a continuous action. The greek verb is in PRESENT TENSE. Jesus commanded his followers at Matthew 6.33 “KEEP ON, then, seeking first the kingdom,” indicating continuous effort, rather than merely “seek ye first the kingdom” (KJV). Other Example: John 14:10 ( ....abiding in Me DOES His works". So your interpretation of 1 John3 is FALSE.

@@BibleLine The verses quoted by you from Ephesians and Galatians does not say that a Christian can't sin. Moreover you are making the mistake of equating "born of God" (1 John 3) with " born again" (John3). They are not the same, technically. "Born again" indicates initial justification ( at baptism) and John uses the term " born of God" in a much broader sense ( i.e a born again christian who ABIDES in Christ). Bible is very clear that if you continue a sinful life without repentence ( i.e does not abide in Him), there is no Eternal life for you.Hebrews 10.26 states: “If we PRACTICE sin willfully after having received the accurate knowledge of the truth, there is no longer any sacrifice for sins left" Hebrews 6.4-6, 2 Peter 2.20-22 etc
