You find that surprising but you miss the most important factor in Kevin's success: that he had a caring Mother that raised him. If you take that out, it would be a very different story. So, dont talk like he was successful because he had Nothing.

I also forgive my dad so much 😭 whn mummy was alive he used to shout so much on her nev let her go out hangout make friends, after her death we had so bad time bevs no woman in life here I'm 3 yrs without mummy no ladies in my life, no siblings,single life but dad saved like a lot for both of us he abuses me behind me taunts me but I'm trying best to see dad's good things 🙏🥹🥰ofc I luv my dad with all his edges

This story hits home. My dad was a gambling and alcohol addict without a job. When my mom passed from cancer when I was 8 I had to make my life happen despite my dad. Moved to a different country, got myself through university working at McDonald's. What kept me going was the memory of my mom who was a super strong woman. I still do believe our loved ones live on in our hearts and give us strength.

After watching this, I have so much MORE respect for Kevin Hart. He suffered adversity and down-right cruelty and life-threatening experiences at the hands of his own father and yet Kevin didn't let it stop him. So proud of Kevin.

Bad father? Kevin said that he still loves his dad, because he understood that he is how he is for a reason. Instead of holding grudge against his dad he loved him. he felt his dad. The fact that he was so open about being showed as the "bad dad" in public he probably thought he deserved it.

I feel for Kevin Hart and I love his Mother's unconditional love for him. So many mothers out there can pick themselves up and swallow there pride and raise their children alone. Too many fathers just walk away from their responsibility.

I love that he doesn't have hatred towards his dad. It's hard to not hate someone who hurt you. And the fact that he has learned from his father's mistakes to become a BETTER parent... more dads need to watch this.

I’m a single mother of three beautiful children … I’m their momma and their dad… this touched me ❤️ the fact that comedians so funny like Kevin just goes to show the real pain he knows and how he chooses to cope. I’ve seen my boys let down so much by their father. I’m so proud of them and who they’re becoming. To all the struggling single parents out there … and all the children who get hurt along the way remember to love. Love yourself. God bless ❤️

Very inspirational. Under any circumstances of what his mother was going through. She was there for Kevin. There's nothing like a praying mother, a strong mother, that keeps her eyes focused on her Trinity, and she keep moving forward to strive for something better, and accomplished her goals to support her family. Even tho Kevin is short, but, he has a big 💜💯😁🤣🤪😇🙏🥰😘😍

AMEN. Its a HUGE lesson for those of us who find it difficult to forgive. After watching this, I had to rethink the reasons for keeping hate and resentment smoldering away inside me. it's like a stone has been lifted off my shoulders.

How I see it…. Once you’ve done your job on earth that call from above comes! And there’s nothing to be ashamed of she was his mother and father! And just him not giving up everyday and she seeing it she enjoyed all the fruits of this labour….. see everything about money when you can save someone’s life that’s truly something special and now that his dad is clean I’m sure he gets that second chance life if more than materialistic things and people think all the money in the world will make them happy and it doesn’t because money turns you into a different beast and kevin stayed true throughout this whole journey and you can feel it he was raised by a strong woman! And she never allowed hate to get into this man soul we don’t know everything about our parents because some things are hard to talk about while we have them we have to cherish every moment with them because this life isn’t guaranteed! Have some faith and love in your heart and soul and you’ll always find a way through dark times!

I understand Kevin Hart, i come from a divorced family.Dad wasnt there and saw my mom do everything she could to give my 2 sisters and i the best.Worked 2 jobs and still made breakfast dinner, and when we missed the bus still bring us to school.I know what having a great mother feels, and i too know the feeling of an absentee father.

Imagine if his mother wasnt , he might be as cruel as his dad was back then. Anything could have been different if his mother wasnt as strong and supportive through all the rough times as she had been. Kevin Hart is a good parent and human being but most importantly an amazing dad with conviction to not let down his family no matter what it takes.

Kevin’s mother inspires my mother to be strong who just tested positive for COVID-19. My single mother looks up to Kevin hart and his mother. They are both strong and understand the meaning of doing what’s right for them. I never knew about his mother. But seeing that past bit from his ACT about his mother's funeral. Man that was funny when i saw it but i never thought that happened or that was real in exact way. What a solid heart this Hart has. True legend. Some people would say Kevin's father was not good i agree but i never heard kevin even remotely referring to his grandfather. He probably never was there in Kevin's father's life but atleast Kevin's children has their grandfather and this is how they heal the old wounds. It cannot be black or white. Kevin's father might not have been a good enough father. But then again same can be said for Kevin's father's father. And so on.

I cried when he was telling Oprah how his mama paid his rent. Mama kept telling him to read the bible n he ignored and ignored. One day he finally open up the bible and each months rent was already in it for him. I can hear the sadness in his voice when he was explaining her funeral at his show
