44:52 The reasons that the generations today don't feel as long is because they make up a smaller portion of your life lived so far than the generations of when you were a kid. One of the eccentric science channels I follow (VSauce) explains this pretty well. Essentially, when you are, say 5 years old, then 1 year makes up 20% of the entire time you've lived so far, so it feels very, VERY long to you (remember how LONG you had to wait for your birthday or for Christmas as a kid?), but to someone who is, say, 50 years old (I'm just choosing an arbitrary age to make a point, and because 50 goes into 100 evenly), 1 year makes up only 2% of the time they've lived, so to them it feels like a much shorter amount of time.

I love hearing that Daemon started to enjoy Elden Ring. If he’s still playing 100% single player, I’m curious how he’ll feel at some of the bosses that are substantially easier with summons.

I get that a lot of people pay month to month, but basically everyone I know pays yearly for their subs when possible. If you pay yearly for premium it breaks down to $10/month. I think that's important to note. Game pass ultimate doesn't have a yearly option, so PS+ premium breaks down to $5 less per month. Obviously, all first party games makes a major difference, but $10/month for literally 600+ games is a great deal.

What a great pick for 20 questions by Daemon! Put a huge smile on my face 😁 I’m glad to hear that Justin is enjoying Kirby, though I want to expand a little bit on the game. First, I think it’s important to note that there ARE challenges to be found. Boss-level missions such as “defeat this boss in 1 minute” or “defeat this boss without getting hit”, the treasure road levels (some of which take me 20+ tries) and the coliseum are great examples. Also, Waddle Dee Town is SUCH a great addition to the game. Playing mini-games, collecting gacha trophies, and upgrading copy abilities are all very fun. And Justin hit it on the head with the level of charm in this game. It’s funny, the music is great, and every play session leaves a big smile on my face.

When you started telling a story Daemon, I immediately thought “he’s going to say he got into Elden Ring” and that’s exactly what happened! I cannot tell you how excited I was you finally got into it! I’ve been listening to gamescoop for 5 years now and have been waiting for this day since then! So excited!

I am a big fan of Gamescoop, but I do find it hilarious that they complaint about maps being cluttered in open world games being too hand-holdy , but they routinely use guides. 🤷🏾‍♂️ Great show. Have a good weekend all.

Hey Sam: the final achievement you're needing isn't that bad. You can turn on the Accessibility options to be invincible, and just speed run to the Magic Orb and then to the Gun. As soon as you pick it up, you get the achievement! Took 10-15 min tops. Worth it for the bragging rights. Good luck!

I’ve played Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands for 50 hours so far and I love it. It’s my favorite BL gameplay by far. The story is an afterthought but everything else is amazing. The class combos are awesome. Tina, my main is a Wildfire (Clawbringer/Spore Warden) and if you spec it right you’ll melt everything. My guy absolutely rolls through everything

Weird, I’ve never had an issue putting into rest mode. In fact, I’ve been in rest mode to play remote while I’m on a work trip. No issues, knock on wood. Is it a disc drive version vs digital only version problem?

In regards to that knight in Elden Ring... All enemies are on tethers, they can only stray so far from their original location before turning back, however if you force them to attack you at the very edge of their tether radius, they can be forced further away from where they were originally located, which is what it sounds like happened to Daemon. Having said that, the Souls series is full of many crazy little details, so its actually not too much of a stretch that an enemy might become so enraged by you that they break their own tether... there have actually been many instances across the entire series with NPC invaders that do unique stuff like that.

Maybe you lost power while it was in rest mode? I had it happen once and I realized the clock got reset in the middle of the night too. Other that that, I've been putting it into rest mode since day 1 of release. Now I have a battery power backup and surge protector that will keep it powered if power cuts off. Maybe yours was updating in rest mode when it lost power, that will corrupt it of course.

When I first fired up Elden Ring and played up until I got Torrent, I thought "this is a cool game - probably an 8/10 for me so far... maybe 9/10... but I doubt it'll be a 10/10" and it's not until I was 20 hours in that I realized that it's a 10/10 for me, and what won me over was the exploration, as cliche as that sounds. Particularly the sense of mystery that certain locations or mobs have which really spurs your curiosity to keep playing and go check it out, but also very much the level and location designs. I mean the very first boss stronghold - Stormveil Castle - is HUGE! This isn't your typical Princess Peach castle (talking about size), this is essentially a small CITY, a keep with monumental structures and towers and MOST of it is explorable not just on the outside but also inside. The secrets you come across are so satisfying to find - especially when the game will entice you by showing you an area that has an item but no clear path to it, so you start thinking about what possible way you can get to that item. But I think the very, VERY specific moment that made me think this game is a 10/10 is the long elevator (I believe it is mentioned in one of IGN's videos of Elden Ring). I'm being intentionally vague so I won't spoil anything, but those who played the game will know exactly what I'm talking about. This game rewards exploration in more ways than one - not only does it reward your curiosity, but as you explore and fight more mobs and find more weapons, you become more powerful.

There’s a couple of times I’ve hit Rest Mode by accident and it scares the shit out me cos I’ve avoided it ever since the warnings at console launch.

Awesome to hear Daemon is enjoying his time with Elden Ring especially after playing on ultra-hard mode! (Hard reset of save data and a couple of false starts with builds). Hope to hear more of his thoughts as he continues, wanna know what ended up working and things that he still wish would change or evolve to modern stuff. I have Stockholm syndrome or blinders for a lot of the FromSoft Soulsbourne systems and mechanics, so I’m genuinely curious to hear newer folks’ critiques and appraisals for them.

It's a shame BOTW got delayed, this was shaping up to be a candidate for the best year ever for video games - Elden Ring, Starfield, Horizon Forbidden West, God of War Ragnarok, Hogwarts Legacy, Pokemon x2 plus stuff I'm forgetting and stuff yet to be announced.

For me I tend to play just one or two games at a time, so I'll take on the appropriate tier of the Playstation subscription service on a monthly basis when it has the game I want to play most at the time. Looks like that might not happen much compared with what I am/will for the incredible service Xbox game pass for PC offers (which admittedly is saving me loads).

What’s a good way to play the first 4 Metal Gear Solid games on PS5? I’m pretty sure they’re stuck on PS3 remasters & unable to be played on a PS5?

My ps5 didnt came out of rest mode as well, had the same issue. Solved it by booting it up, pull the power cable out, wait 30 sec and plug it in and reboot. It forced the ps5 in recovery mode, everything was saved

I just had a baby about a month ago and Kirby is perfect for my on-the-go unpredictable lifestyle. I had to set aside my ps5 for now but the Switch is so easy to pick up and play, and Kirby is a nice, fun, relaxing game to play right now for those who love to game but might be a bit busy

Dude Daemon that's scary, I literally posted about the same thing happening to me in the Game Scoop group. I searched all over the internet, tried everything else on the safe mode options before resorting to the factory reset. Thankfully that did the trick though, and my Horizon save was in the cloud. Only thing I lost I think we're like screenshots and stuff, which is a bummer, but better than a bricked PS5. Glad you're enjoying Elden Ring now though! Some of the areas you have yet to get to are just spectacular

I remember playing myst when I was real little and not knowing AT ALL what I was supposed to do. I have 2 older brothers and they were either always playing Myst or 7th Guest. 7th guest for some reason terrified me so I never wanted to play it lol.

I wonder how the extra tiers will work for current subs. I buy my PS+ yearly when it's on sale and sometimes get 18 months or more ahead and, while not currently interested in getting PS++UltraGold yearly, I wouldn't mind trying it for a month here and there depending on what else is out. If I can just pay the extra for a month or two at a time and then drop it without issue to my regular PS+ sub then I'll at least try it. As for Botw2, I'm fine with it being delayed because I want to hope that they're doing things better than I feel they did with Botw. Going open world for the first time is always tricky because there are always things that get lost, cut, or rushed for various reasons. Similarly, I love the soulsborne games but feel Elden Ring is filled with tons of problems that come as a result of going open world with it (and grrm, don't even get me started on that decision lol). Basically I'm hoping that Botw was just a rough sort of 'stepping stone' to something greater. Great show this week!

Been playing GTAV Series X version and wow does that 60FPS just make that game soooo much better! Performance RT is the best out of the 3 options. Haven’t played the campaign in years and it still holds up nicely. Edit: Dang about your PS5…I’d be pissed 😡 I always worry about the first year production consoles…but I’m lucky so far with my SeriesX and the quick resume works great! I too fell off Borderlands after playing 3, it just didn’t feel as good as BL2. I’ll wait for this to go on sale I think. I still have the Original PS3 with the actual emotion engine chip in it(that’s the ps2 chip), which makes it easy for me to play any PS3, PS2 and PSX game. I have no need to sub to PS. Gamepass is still the best imo anyway, because of the catalog and day one releases. Not to mention that it is on both console and PC.

The thing that is weird to me with ps plus tiers is that game pass is the same price per month whether regardless of how many months you pay for. but with ps plus the highest tier is $120 for the whole year or $200 a year if you pay quarterly or $216 if you pay monthly. Some may view this as a discount for buying in bulk but its really a penalty for wanting to go month to month sony does not save money because of a bulk purchase they want to penalize people who hop subscriptions. I also think both platform holders need to rework their legacy subscription services $60 a year to play online and 2 games per month does not make sense next to game pass esc library subscriptions. I think the platform holders should just make online play free and perhaps lower the cost to like $20 a year with no more free games but you get to keep your old games in ps plus or gold and maybe exclusive discounts

I agree with Justin. My only issue with these subscription services is that it is basically a game rental service. You don't anything. If the service goes, so do all the games. I am not someone who has to play games the day it comes out. So i"d rather wait and buy it later.

Daemon, you can respec your stats and build in Elden Ring so I'd advise picking up everything you find in case you want to change later on! Glad to hear you're enjoying the game.

As far as that knight in Elden Ring that Daemon fought - I could be wrong, but I think this is kind of the case with every mob in the game in that the more damage you do to them, the more aggro you get (those of you who played WoW, think of how you would kite in that game - if you didn't do damage to a mob for X amount of time, they would reset, but if you kept attacking them, even for low damage, then they would keep coming after you). I notice this pattern in Elden Ring with other mobs where a single arrow hit will put a mob on "alert" where they look at you, know you're there, and possibly SLOWLY move toward you, but if you hit them with a couple more arrows, they suddenly start running at you.

I'm happy for daemon for giving elden ring another go and enjoying it ...that story was a wild ride and also I too bother that knight at Raya but the ball got us both lol

Starting of with some Symphony of the Night oh yes! Psone is my all time fav console so having psone games as part of the subscription services is a massive win but they need to add FF Crisis Core and castlevania curse of darkness for ps2

I find when my PS5 is in Vertical position it crashes regularly. When in Horizontal it's absolutely fine. I think it has something to do with the cooling. If your'e having problems, give it a go.

Awe. I feel you pain Daemon! My og ps5 wouldn't play any ps5 games. My ps4 games worked great which is so wacky. Since they replaced the motherboard almost a year in, it's has been great. Hopefully this one lasts!

My PS5 crashed when I was in the media gallery looking at some screenshots while playing Elden Ring and I lost a few hours of progress. Not as bad as having to factory reset but super annoying nonetheless

My PS5 would crash in rest mode. It sounded terrible with coil whine too in use, I sent it back to Sony and they replaced it. This one no issue.with rest mode at all….

The infrastructure cost of making the retro games available, and especially making PS3 games playable via streaming, is probably significant. The third tier is a tax to get this up and running and to prove the concept. I don't expect the service will stay three tiers for long. Either not enough people sign up so they don't bother, or enough people do and they fold it in after the initial outlay is recouped.

The plus and premium tier are all about retro gaming. I have such a huge backlog of ps4 and ps5 games now that I don't need 1,2,3 tacked on. Many of those classic games have been remaked and remodeled for last and current consoles. Really feels like the only people who would be interested in the upper tiers are older people who grew up on these games. I don't think many young gamers are gonna want to go back to those older games. Also John said to put day one release games on PS Plus wouldn't be good. Xbox Game pass had over 25 million subscribers. That's 25,000,000 x $15 dollars. The studios would definitely make their money back

I can't believe they haven't mentioned God of War when it comes to cliffhangers. And didn't one of the Mass Effects end in a cliffhanger essentially? I digress (because I haven't played all of Mass Effect games, so I can't remember), but not only does God of War 2018 release with areas you cannot access yet with a clear insinuation that there will be another game or DLC that would allow you to access them, more importantly the older God of War 2 ended on a ENORMOUS cliffhanger! They pumped you up SO MUCH for what's comming and then ended the game... God of War 3 could not come soon enough not just because of the game itself but because of the story!

Nothing makes me happier than to hear Daemon got into Elden Ring. Such a masterpiece of a game that I want everybody to enjoy! The game is only as hard as you make it! Tons of rune farms to overlevel and power through the game
