IMO, there is a difference between *perfect* and the best that something can be. When I rate any game a 10, I'm not calling it perfect: Just the best possible game it could be, within its own genre, series, studio, etc.

I know it's fun to get all hard imagining streaming games, but our infrastructure is no where here where it needs to be to handle streaming games. I live 10 miles out of a city with a population of 150k ppl and the fastest internet available to me is dial up 3mbps download speed. There is a subdivision down the road and they have the same issue. It's to big of a market to give up.

About the VR section right here with the gentleman is talking about with the bald head I've been having VR from the very beginning and I can tell you right now the Oculus Quest is comprable to first gen PC headsets like the original Oculus touch, and the HTC Vive OG the graphics are outstanding I can't believe they are able to do what they've done with that 835 snapdragon I believe the guy that was speaking doesn't really have it currently right about the quality of the graphics because I don't think he's own multiple headsets like myself so I'm just throwing it out there guys I was totally stunned by the graphic fidelity oh, and I have a lot of hmd headsets

Don't really understand why people like Dan get so personally offended by little arty projects like this, that aren't even taking the place of something else they want in a company's regular software line up or whatever. I dont know maaaannnnn i feel like 10 out of 10 is possible.....for me games like the witcher 3....god of war......and spiderman. Story, gameplay, longevity, graphics, etc etc. That helps makes those gsmes 10 out of 10. (My opinion)

Obviously, no one would rate anything "perfect" on a review - this isn't exclusive to video games. Can you think of a perfect art piece? Perfect movie? Show? Book? Car? There is no perfection because that would have to apply universally to EVERYONE, and there will always be someone who will say "that's not my cup of tea" which would make that game/movie/book/car imperfect. I like IGN's description of 10/10 as "Masterpiece" - because just like with art, this conveys the though perfectly. Do you think Mona Lisa's painting is perfect? No one should. But could anyone reasonably argue that it's not a masterpiece? Of course it is! Avatar is a masterpiece when it comes to movies. So is Titanic. Masterpiece is as close as we will get to perfection when it comes to video games, so while they're not a dime-a-dozen, a healthy number of them exist.

Peer missed NES because master system was more successful in console market in Europe then and also computers (home micros) were waaaaaay more prevalent and popular than any console. Europe didn’t go hardcore console until PlayStation era really (although SNES and megadrive were more successful than their predecessors in marketing terms).

Honestly, not much. A lot of 10/10 recorded games that I’ve played fall far short of that mark.

Not a single thing... Red Dead Redemption 2 is one of the worst and frustrating things I've ever played. Can't get past 2 hours of play. And it's not that it's boring, it's the game mechanics I can't stand. If I want an old fashion life simulator, I'll go look for that, but not in something that's supposed to be a game.

It's ridiculous to give a score based on your own personal view and pass that off as the opinion of an entire gaming site. A great example is Yakuza 6, it's one of my favourite ever games and is awesome, but has some clear faults that annoy me. It's clearly an 8 even though I love it. God of War was considered amazing by the vast majority of reviewers, it didn't exactly grab me. I'd give it a 9 because I can recognize the achievement of the game. Read Read Redemption 2 is a tough one because it's at once an amazing story experience with some shocking flaws. It could legitimately be awarded anything from a 7-10 because you could either overlook the flaws because it's a storytelling masterpiece, or drop the score down because of the embarrassingly dated controls and design choices and poor character models.

To me a 10/10 game means the game had characters with an emotional story that the reviewer connected with and got sucked in by, not that the gameplay is anything special.
