One of the more valuable features for the enthusiasts likely to be attracted to the Sony NEX-C3 is the Peaking function, where the sharpest, high-contrast areas of the frame appear colorized, indicating the band or area of sharpest focus. You can choose among red, yellow, and white colors, and the range of focused areas that it affects.

You can adapt nearly any lens to m43. Only thing you really need to go native for is wide lenses due to the crop factor. There are also really high quality optics available like the Voigtlander Nokton series.

Understandable. There are some expensive adapters that handle aperture control on EF mount lenses, though it would be nice if the price on those came down. In any case, these are exciting times for cameras across the board.

Yes I understand. However, I am both photo and video enthusiast. I cannot use autofocus on third party lenses, or the stabilization. I also can't control aperture through body if i use my canon ef lenses. Unless there is a reasonably priced metabones adapter for Canon to M43, the GH3 is sadly, out of the picture for me.

Focus peaking is not exact. The shimmering (or solid green dot, as used in Nikon's) doesn't mean you are dead-on focused, it means you are in a range of focus. In EVF's and LCD's, a magnified visual view with manual focusing is more exact.

Hi imagineresource, I just got my nex updated but i can't activate my peaking mode.. its says " This function is currently disabled" do you how i can activate peaking mode?

that's awesome. gh3 has everything i could want except being a m43 sensor and using shitty m43 lenses.
