ExpressLRS is definitely a lot more work at the moment. Soon they will have a binary and configurator, so it will be easier to install and keep updated. It breathed new life in my R9 system which I'm super thankful for. It works flawlessly at 200hz packet rate with much better range than before.

Comparing apples and oranges a bit there Albert :) All other systems you referenced are ~900MHz and Ghost is 2.4Ghz. A better comparison would be between Ghost, Tracer and the 2.4Ghz version of ELRS. I have had Ghost from very early on and aside from a few initial issues, it is now pretty solid. I am intrigued by ELRS 2.4Ghz though.

Great overview. I've got crossfire in everything including a 65mm whoop. I'm very happy with it. ImmersionRC makes some good stuff. Love the tramp vtx, both sizes. For someone shopping for a new system ghost is a viable option. Happy flying 👻

I'm sticking with crossfire because RF isn't something I like to experiment with, I need tried and true reliability. My last failsafe destroyed my quad and gopro, I prefer not to take chances in this area. I'm sure they're all good at this point though.

oddly enough, in testing no one's managed to actually make ERLS failsafe - I saw someone go 30kms on 2,4ghz (1W I think) with 99LQ. I get what u mean though, it's still in release candidate state right now

I would have gotten the ghost if the firmware were further developed. Mainly considered it because I run immersionRC rapid-fire. but decided to go with CRSF. The ease of setup makes me want the tbs/fusion for the tbs ecosystem

@@justalex7416 I think both are solid. DIY has more options and a full web server for uploading firmware. Pretty cool. But ghost is easy right now. Just buy and flash with stlink. If you are interested in building I recommend going DIY. There is also a buy and sell on the elrs discord if you want to buy some pre made.

Ah, someone finally noticed! I've been trying out a bunch of different microphones but it turns out the recorder is the thing that matters the most. So the microphone is a cheapo $9.99 no name mic. The recorder is this one from Sony... recorded in 16-bit PCM - amzn.to/3dpXMHJ

You can just strip the antenna wire to keep using it! It should be close to 1/4 of the 2.4ghz wavelength which is around ~31.2mm ;)... in Theorie the length of the shielding matters to, but as long as you are not doing some serious long range there should be no problems!

I bought Ghost but i can’t use it with my 9xr pro, and a very strange thing is that sometimes in the « mode » menu on the ghost module, i can chose protocol CRSF or protocol CRFU. I really don’t understand how a CRSF protocol can be displayed on a immersionrc product !!

Hi Albert. Thanks for testing on the Jumper T12. Do you also tested the ghost module on the Jumper T8SG plus? I saw your video about the crossfire module on the T8SG plus which worked. Is there still output power on the internal module of the Jumper transmitter if you switch to the external module? Looking forward to your feedback. Thanks for sharing your great videos :o)

I have not tested it as PPM mode isn't supported on the ghost module AFAIK. So it won't work.

With Tracer and CRSF, plus TBS’s approach to making things easy to use plus range. Hard to compete. Great review and glad to see competition. Watching Quad66’s review, I wouldn’t want to try Ghost. Seems like it is not quite ready though cool technology.

This system is a great offer for those who haven’t committed to a specific LRS link system yet. SRXL2 does RSSI differently than crossfire. There is a video out on how to accomplish this.

I was not able to find information on how to get RSSI on the OSD of the DJI goggles. I know there are videos for analog but I want to get RSSI on DJI. How does this work?

Crossfire was very easy to set up a lot easier than the r9 stuff and I have had no problems with it going to have a play with express lrs just because I got some r9 stuff that’s sit5ing doing nothing

Don't forget to attach the antenna before powering up the radio... I'm guessing my module burnt up after only a short time on without the antennas - my Ghost module is now useless - failsafes any time I'm fly further than 20 feet away. 😥

Yes, this is common knowledge in the FPV world. Transmitters of any kind will burn up without the antennas attached.

I'm pretty sure it will work at least on PPM but functionality will be somewhat limited since you can do some more stuff with the openTX LUA scripts.

If i plug a 2 watt 2,4ghz signal booster to one of the long range protocols in that band would the range be increased?

Not too sure as the signal processing is optimized for their own power settings. The signal booster also boosts up the noise level which may have a worse effect on your range with these systems.

RSSI is automatically sent on the SRXL2 protocol on the ghost. LQ is not available.
