Fantastic review Justin. I’ve been looking at getting into fpv for six months, and am at a cross-road in determining which system to invest. I don’t race so latency is not a factor. Based on other reviews, and the comparisons in this review, I’m going going with cross-fire system for its’ update simplicity and the stand-alone modularity vs Ghost (co-dependent on radio update to function). I’m new to fpv. I fly ultralight aircraft and can’t always make it out to fly. So that got me into fpv. Started a month ago with analog and got dji goggles last week wow! Love it more. Don’t like failsafes so close to me. Usually behind something. I use a spektrum nx8. Ordered crossfire tx full range no clew on when they will come in everywhere is back ordered. Thanks for your input on your channel it helps.

I've just bought Ghost, because for me in europe, the 868 MHz Band in europe is so narrow, which can cause problems when you together with other people. And the range from Ghost is plenty in my opinion. The setup from ghost is easy. I am really excited when it get fully supported with OpenTx 2.4 and BetaFlight 4.3

I currently use 433MHz MyFlyDream for my long-range RC but also have an R9 2019 module (coupled with a R9MM in the quad) for smaller craft. I have seriously considered Crossfire, with that beefy 2-watt RF module of theirs. Arrr-arrr-arrr!! Mo Powa!! Would like the ability to couple the lat/long updating capability, along with a T-Beacon, to walk up directly to a lost aircraft...especially my MiniDrak that COULD go out 10s of miles.

You should try ghost on the betaflight nightlies or emuflight with the actual ghost protocol. It has been great for me. The next firmware immersion rc comes out with will supposedly have gps telemetry with it plus other goodies. As of now with the ghost protocol it supports basic telemetry. I cant comment on crossfire cuz i have never used it. I went right from frsky to ghost and its night and day. Havent had a failsafe since ive been using it and i am going 3 to 5x as far with lq never dipping below 90.

This is exactly what I've been saying.. I went Ghost from FrSky and can't wait to switch my fleet over to all Ghost.. I have a quad on Emu and betaflight both with the atto receivers and the Emu Ghost combo is a beast.. It's like it reads your mind..

I love my CRSF and run it on everything I fly. I use full size module and for me having the ability to run 25mw or 2w is really nice. Good vid brother 👍

Hi can somebody give me some advice PLEASE... My Moblite 7 is acting funny. I have Moto Stop on but when I arm Motos still spin and also throttle response is sort of delayed making it unflyable. I also noticed that in Betafight I tryed to set up switches for mod but even though I put it in auto it doesn't respond.... I would be greatful for any suggestion as I am new all this THANK YOU...

What about ghost protocol? Is there a CLI command if I'm not getting stick movement in betaflight? on my flywoo goku f745 but it worked fine on my other two mamba f405's the Rx is just stuck on the cyan color or "team race mode"

Something to think about with Ghost vs Crossfire is compatibility with FrSky's QX7 radio (should you have it). I read somewhere that there was a non-solder solution coming, but for my radio Crossfire would have required relatively technical work on the circuit board involving removing/replacing chips. Ghost may require an (easy) update to the radio, but it is quick and simple to do. I have had no issues with Ghost in the 6 months I have been using it. I dig it. I am running SRXL2 and I do wish Betaflight would kick it in the ass to include the Ghost protocol, but it works fine. I easily outfly my video without failsafe, and that is why I got it.

Thanks for your honest review! Ghost is still an option for me, as long you tell me honest facts, I'll have you on my radar. What I really need is a multiprotocoll module that let's me bind to FlySky FCC while still being able to use FRSky EU. Not even the latest multiprotocoll transmitters/modules let you mix those. I need built in FlySky for the whoops (hate to put XM+ on a 20g drone), FRSky EU for everyday XM+ drones and a long range option.

I am fairly new to the hobby coming from RC helicopters I got a new radio Master transmitter that came with a crossfire module I'm wondering if it performs the exact same as the unit you have and just lack some of the features or does it not perform as well as far as penetration and distance?

It should. But yours won’t do 2W. What you have is absolutely fine for what you’re doing.

So I’m a little confused, did you say the ghost module will work with other receivers such as the R9m and Frsky Xm+? That would be a huge selling point. Regardless I use TBS with a Tango II on new aircraft and FRsky 2.4 or R9mm on my old gear until I can convert over.

Where can I get a cheat sheet for CLI commands? I want any and all that can relate to flying digital that will help me or benefit my quads etc.. As far as ghost I just think there is really no reason to use it . As far as your channel, simply the best imo!

I bought Ghost but i can’t use it with my 9xr pro, and a very strange thing is that sometimes in the « mode » menu on the ghost module, i can chose protocol CRSF or protocol CRFU. I really don’t understand how a CRSF protocol can be displayed on a immersionrc product !!

EZUHF to Dragonlink to Crossfire to ? Always chasing the better option but I have to say my crsf has been ultra reliable and since my platforms are mainly aruplane/arducopter having mavlink support is important to me. I always enjoy configuring a new setup with crsf because of the built in screen on the full version. TBS has a big jump on the other companies for advanced features and working with opentx and pushing the tech in general ahead. ExpressLRS seems like it has potential but until they have mavlink I'm out.

As far as digital quads are concerned, my dji radio keeps out shining my crossfire set up guys!......... maybe I'm not doing something correctly but hey my dji radio has never failsafed in 2 years. My crossfire tango 2, twice now! I still trust CF but idk why use it when the dji keeps killin it..

I got the first batch of Ghost and haven't looked back.. Ghost was easier for me to use than crossfire, I have a Qx7s and didn't want to do extra mods for crossfire, all I had to do was update my Qx7s and wire the receiver up, press bind on the Ghost system and power up the quad.. instant update and bind.. every new RX is ready to bind as soon as it gets power.. existing rx "look" for the bind on power up and if it already is then it's ready to go..

My first ever tbs product was tracer, sad to say I've had a lot of fail safe problems with it. Just bought ghost 👻 Hopefully it holds up for me. I'm not doing any long range, just park flying and parking lots usually. I'm looking for low latency

@@illyrian8991 Only issues was there are very small capacitors that you can easily pull off the board with the soldering iron if you're not careful..but connection wise? 0 issues. Very stable.

But Immersion RC did advertise, that it’s a faster link that has comparable range to CRSF. So they clearly „attacked“ tbs CRSF. And tracer was the answer to that. So Ghost claims to be the ultimate Allrounder Tracer claims to be a super fast, low latency controllink. So I understand why he is comparing the two systems.
