That adapter is nice to have as a back up in your kit or for someone that can't afford both tools. But if you are using a impact driver as a daily tool don't think buying a imapact wrench and this adapter is the ultimate solution because its not. Impact drivers don't hit as hard but have higher rpm's for driving screws faster. This is a good adapter for people that work on cars and don't really need a dedicated driver but may want the option to remove the occasional screws with a power tool instead of a screwdriver.

Many newer stubby impact wrenches have three speed/torque settings and variable triggers. Once you have driven a few screws you will get the feel of the torque and power so over driving any screws can be avoided.

I used the Dewalt version on my 1/2 sub compact Dewalt for a few months and recent picked up the new dcf850 and I can say the 850 is a beast but the dcf923 with the adapter will still run in most screws just as fast. Some smaller shorter screws the 850 beats the 923 by a lot but for the most part it’s a good experience. Although I do go straight to the smaller lighter and faster spinning 850 first now so I really think it depends on the use case and which impact drivers/wrenchs you’re comparing

Well yesterday i use my ryobi 3/8 impact wrench, whit the milwakee 3/8 to 1/ 4 quick load adapter…. I repair 2 chairs, put like 4 hangers and a couple things more, its the ultimate solution… i can change my quad and cars tyres, do other power stuff too… and its really a good ítem, but if u work and make money of this, u have to buy the two, the driver and the wrench… and side a rotary hammer

That's better than turning an impact driver into a wrench, like many of us have done. Mainly because a driver is usually weaker than a wrench, and it's better to have something stronger in case you need it.

I just wanted to add one more comment for others benefit another house fire in lost my husband of 27 years and after sleeping on the ground in a tent for over a year I decided to try and rebuild on the property and found out real quick how much I didn't know and if any of you have ever walked into Lowe's or Home Depots or any of the big companies and ask for advice you already know that the first thing they do is direct you to the most expensive thing they can and don't really tell you nothing except for this is what you want and so that left me high and dry quite often since I have found your site which is very well spoken I now am confident and beginning to build a small little place to call my home again which I have gained from your sights you have three very important factors and your continuous with them number one you check out the product and you put it out there straightforward without trying to drag it into a 3-hour video that tells you about one minute information which a lot of sites do to you make it a point to explain it and detail it as well as review it and you give a price approximate which is a big deal if you're on very limited income and want to do the right thing with the right tool and with your tips suggestions and the visual demonstrations and honesty I feel completely confident I know exactly what I need when I walk in to the store or start a project for all these qualities above I thank you once more and when I finish I will send you a pic just so you guys can see that you made a difference thank you kindly stay safe & Jesus keep you close

man I wish I found out about this earlier in life haha, I just did a job where I had to remove/reinstall 200 t40 torx deck bolts at a marina to run an electrical line. Most of those t40's broke loose ok but some were too strong for my Ridgid Octane driver even with an Octane battery. If I had that adapter I might have been able to use my mid torque impact wrench to break those bolts loose. Either that or break the t40 bits haha. Either way it was an extreme pain when a screw wouldn't come out and I had to skip that board and work around it. Thanks for this great advice, I think I'm going to get one myself!

Also I have the 6.0 M12 battery so that helps. I got a $3 adapter to go to 1/4 hex from 3/8 square for the stubby from Menards. Not arguing against that but for $5 you can get a 1/4" hex to 1/4-3/8-1/2" square drive adapter. If Milwaukee had their stubby M12 out ages ago, I'd have taken this video's suggestion.
@Dale37
@Dale37 3 жыл бұрын
The Bosch freak isn't very powerful though and I wonder if it has anything to do with that dual purpose anvil. A ½" anvil with enough material removed to use a ¼" bit isn't very strong anymore and with an M12 Stubby impact being able to produce 400+ ft.lbs of torque, the anvil has to be pretty damn strong.
@X302smokedyou
@X302smokedyou 3 жыл бұрын
@@hydrocarbon8272 you can but you wont have a very powerful impact wrench that way, and those adapters are prone to breaking.

Going to be most useful on a stubby low torque impact wrench, otherwise, you’re doing to overpower it. Even then,the extra length and weight might not make it practical for many users. But, for someone primarily using it as an impact wrench, and has a mid-torque with multiple speed/torque settings, or has a low-torque, I can see it working as a light use impact driver.

My ryobi impact wrench came with an adapter to make it into a driver. Tried to drive a screw and it snapped it off right away when it started impacting. The wrenches hit different. They have heavier springs and anvils. Probably works nice on the smaller impact wrenches like what you used. I like using my impact drivers as a impact wrench with the socket adapters. But never the impact wrench as a driver.

Bought a makita small 1/2" wrench since it went on sale, for taking machines apart on the farm or changing tires. Seems handy and wanted to make it more handy. If something is really fucked it'll have to be by my garage anyway so then I can break out the 3/4" air wrench if shit isn't going to move🤣. So figured why not. Glad to see this little wrench is going to be worked like a dog now putting tin on buildings and everything else without having to shell out 300 -500 more for an impact driver

I've got a 3/8 one too. The salesman tried to get me to go the other way and buy the bit driver and put socket adaptors in that. He actually got pissed that I went the way I did.

I did that with my m12 stubby. I got the Tekton adapter, and now I wish I didn’t get my m12 impact, and went for a surge instead.

@ToolReviewZone is there an adapter that changes the size of the anvil. For example, can I change a half inch anvil to a 3/8 anvil?
