In this demo, Bryce Kho shows how limiting yourself to CMYK colors and using ink blobs can break you out of your comfort zone and push your creativity to new heights. This method encourages experimenting with shapes and characters, moving away from the pressure to create 'cool' art. He then works with a pen to minimize overthinking and accept imperfections, leading to more expressive drawings. This approach makes exploring light, shadow, and character interpretation spontaneous, making the art process fun and liberating.

Hi Proko Is it possible to have subscription based courses on your website i think it could be much more accessible for students and hopefully you would make more as well since the subscriptions are cheaper than paying alot at once Or even payment plans would work Thanks for all the resources:)
@ProkoTV
@ProkoTV 23 күн бұрын
@@aakashkathait8328 We have payment plans on the website currently. We don't feel that charging a subscription fee for students to maintain access to their art education would be right. What people usually want with that kind of thing is a lower cost and we do that two ways, by releasing tons of our lessons for free here on KZfaq and by doing regular sales like the one coming up later this month. If we find a way to make a subscription model work in the future, we'll roll that out. But we want people to have lifetime access to the tools they use and the lessons they learn from because we believe revisiting your fundamentals is a necessary and important part of being an artist. Thank you for reaching out, though!

I really like his mentality that not every new drawing has to be the best thing he's ever drawn. By outputting consistently you will eventually land on a piece that you are proud of and makes you feel good. You just have to stick to it and enjoy the process, that way the great results become an added benefit to the work and determination.

Agreed. Ive challenged myself to create art every day and Ive realized some days will be amazing and others not so much :/ the less held up I get on my not-so-amazing days, the more my stamina and passion for creating I have every day. When I judge or crucify myself for creating something that isn’t monumental I only hold myself back from seeing that its just an off day. A ‘less-good’ art piece doesn’t have to determine my skill as a whole but rather is just a moment of more learning growing and trying new things.

I am relearning to draw again after i have been doing it for more than 10 years. But these 10 years I have been in and out of artblock. The best thing that i achieved recently is, I learned to do ugly drawings and bad ones and be totally ok with that.

It's incredible how playfulness in drawing has to be relearned as you're older, because looming over every artist that desires to make quality work in this industry is a perfectionism that can be cumbersome on the imagination. I love Bryce Kho's work, I've been following him on Instagram for some years and I'm always deriving inspiration from his amazing art, this was certainly a treat to see him at work.

I think the fact that Bryan did not attend art school makes his work that much more free. As an art student, I'm definitely going to take this into account. That in me free time despite my projects, I must take time to experiment freely!

I love listening to him. He has a really healthy and down to earth approach to art. Also, I love that he uses the values and blob edges not to separate figures, but as contours within an individual figure. His process of seeing something in the *negative* space is insightful.

I remember seeing you talk about this exact piece in one of the Draftsmen podcasts. I remember being totally enthralled by the idea behind it, the concept of splattering wateroclour randomly and then inking over it. Its completely outside of my skillset but one day I really wanna learn to do this because it sounds like an amazing way to just express yourself in a really controlled fashion. The end result looks stunning too.

Hi stan, great video as always ! I have a question regarding working from big to small. When doing Value studies, and I’m going to paint the darkest value. Do i Paint that darkest value all the way from the big shadow shape to small small shape, then move to the next lighter values and do the same thing. Or should I paint the darkest value only on the large form first, move to the next lighter values on that large form and do the same. And do the same for the medium to small form ? I hope this question made sense.

This is not painting with cmyk as a printer (which uses half one rasters to create colors - more a kind to pointillism ) This is painting normal watercolor where you mix the colors from the core base colors. CMY (K is not really needed) most people that was trained I no traditional color theory has done this. Without anything connected to a printer. So nice clip. A bit misleading title :)
