✍️ ABOUT ME:
I started my TikTok early 2023 to help others gain their confidence in learning. When I first started my academic comeback journey, I struggled to find the resources and help that I needed. I went from an E to an A* within 3 months just to fall back down to an E, but I picked myself up and I’ve been an academic weapon for 5 years as a Chemical Engineering student! If i can do it, you can too!

ik people be giving feedback on your video editing and style, but, stick to what you like, do what you feel like, if u like a suggestion do it, if u don't, don't. you will definitely find your bunch of people and then turn into a lovely community of like minded people, and that can only happen only when you're true to yourself hehe. goodluck :)) most importantly, HAVE FUN :)

Hi!!! I’m guessing in chemistry you struggle with calculations? If yes that’s what you need to tackle first. Chemsheets is good for this and if u search “amount of substance chemsheet” on google you can find free ones. For maths do lots of practice. To be honest I started learning maths by using AI and seeing how they answer the qs, I learnt the steps and applied it myself. I also watched KZfaq videos on how people solved questions and it helped me to understand their rationale. Putting in practice is also super important

Any tips for studying languages ? I’ve to study French and Irish and I find them difficult also history ? Because the concepts itself bore me ?
@PCFGSTUDY
@PCFGSTUDY 4 ай бұрын
I think with languages its more practice than anything. Find someone that speaks that language as a first language and speak to them regularly. I tried to learn french and mandarin for 7 years and learnt nothing because of this T_T. For history its minding the timelines. Create a mindmap, use method of loci, watch videos on them especially if theyre animated, role playing!

I realise that you’re simply talking about memory but it is also important to acknowledge that declarative knowledge is only half of the equation. Sure, you can arbitrarily memorise an equation or set of instructions, but it doesn’t help you with procedural knowledge. I also wonder about the longevity of the memory you’ve developed with these techniques. The memory palace (method of loci) is specifically used by a lot of memory athletes for the memorisation of arbitrary knowledge in the short-term. It’s not useful for long-term encoding given that the information is not integrated as naturally into the existing schemas. The techniques discussed seem to be tricks for the short-term, but I doubt the retention over the long-term particularly when applied to the Ebbinghaus forgetting curve. What are your thoughts on this?

You also mention previous techniques of rewriting things you wanted to remember which seems to be just rote memorisation or mnemonics and method of Loci. Sure, eventually you’ll remember it, but it’s not particularly efficient and therefore not sustainable for high volumes of information.

This is actually a rlly good q bc one of the things I struggle with is regurgitating the information in split seconds. I have them within my mind palace and I can recall them when triggered even if it’s been 10 years but it takes a while. It definitely works best for short term like towards an exam. When I’m working towards and exam I’m constantly training for that memory to be regurgitated and it’s really easy then. But if I’m asked abt it again in a years time randomly I wouldn’t know what to say. If they showed me any diagram or anything remotely close to it tho it will trigger my memory and I’m able to speak on it as if I learnt it the day before. Super interesting and I’ve not found how I can trigger the memory faster but I’m trying out different methods.
