Enjoy your videos very much. Love how you teach Qi Gong.

Thank you for explaining the horse stance. Many qi gong videos show a very wide horse stance that is intimidating and might cause injury for those brand new to this form of exercise.

Thank you so much Jeffrey this is so helpful. Although I have practiced Qi Gong for many years at 85 ...the horse stance is new to me. I really like your style and I have more movements to add or alternate now. Blessings to you.

My pleasure, I'm glad I could help! Yes, often people don't like practicing horse stance but when you add it in to your practice it really helps increase energy, and it teaches the body to relax very deeply. Thanks so much for commenting!

yes it truly does make a difference ....I added it to my practice this morning and have not felt as much Chi running since I used to be part of Dr John Loh's class outside the Coquitlam Centre before I left BC to move to Ecuador. I would like to practice with the tree next and make it deeper. Blessings and Gratitude

Cheers for the video content! Excuse me for butting in, I would appreciate your initial thoughts. Have you researched - Zenatthew Planning Paradoxal (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now)? It is a great one of a kind product for building your Chi energy minus the headache. Ive heard some interesting things about it and my mate after a lifetime of fighting got great success with it.

Hi! Just wondering if you have any ideas on how to help someone who has walked on their toes their whole life (40+ years) work the muscles and tendons to be able to even begin to do horse stance flat-footed...Like the videos that I have seen thus far, new to qigong and they are helping me learn more about it.

Hello Kimberly! Stretching consistently will help loosen the muscles and tendons over time. If you do this exercise that I was describing while holding the tree, descending slowly and as deeply as you can comfortably go, your legs, feet, and hips will limber up over time. Because you mentioned that you were are "toe walker" you can focus on pushing the heel into the ground when standing up from the lowered position. You can also use a foam roller to loosen the muscles. They work really well, but it can be a little uncomfortable at first! Roll the hamstrings, and the calves. Also, I would suggest learning to squat, even without weights.It will really help! Keep persisting! 😃

Aren't there any more convenient alternatives to a tree, say, for indoors?
@psychicriver4 жыл бұрын
A counter top, bed, or anything you can use to hold onto if you feel yourself teetering backward. When I was first working on improving my squatting I got inside a door frame so I could hold the sides if I felt like I would fall, lol
@huckmart20175 жыл бұрын
Isnt this basically just a squat?
@ThinkVitalityQiGong5 жыл бұрын
There are similarities and differences. One name is called "dan yu." The purpose of a squat is to strengthen muscles. The purpose of dan yu is to strengthen muscles, and build the qi. Much like a squat there are many subtle details that can make it very healthy for the body. Both are great to practice!

What is the movement your doing at 4:40 in the video. You got any videos on that?
Do you live in Cambridge, Ontario??? I would like to get private lessons. I want to learn embrace the tree, horse, tiger, turtle and water buffalo. Everything is about getting the right structure you are right. However, I need someone who can see me and tell me what I need to improve. Do you have any contacts in this area? Can you referral someone?

Unfortunately I am on the opposite side of the country in British Columbia. I don't know anybody in Ontario, but I'm sure if you explore different teachers most of them will be able to help you. The principles for horse stance, Qigong, and Tai Chi are very similar throughout all the different styles. A good teacher should be able to assist you.Having said that, I would suggest practicing even with the information that you have. If you practice your body will tell you when something is right and when something is wrong. If something is hurting and you feel strain or stress then something is not quite right. Generally if you can breathe easily, your qi feels as if it’s flowing, and your body feels good then it is right!
