Thanks a lot for your comment, my friend. With the washer was not originally my idea. I saw it in some other huaraches video, honestly. Leather is for sure a bit slippery on certain surfaces. It is, however, interesting feeling to wear them. Those made from shoemaker's rubber are somewhat less pleasant on the skin. After more kilometers (e.g. more than 6) i had blisters from them. But in these leather huaraches not at all. I was thinking to glue these two materials together, but then the weight will be for sure higher. That 6mm thick rubber is in principle quite heavy. Hello there. Thanks for your question. The cord is 6 mm and the leather is 5 mm thick. I personally do not run much, I like most the backpacking. But I tried couple of times to run in them and it was good. So this time I used poly-amide so called Prusik cord. But in my previous video I used ordinary paracord 550. The diameter of the drill was 5 mm this time. Is best a bit smaller than the diameter of the cord, so it does not move too much. I hope this helps. Greetings from Slovakia.🙂

Hi @Rikhartpt, thanks for your question. In principle it did not any harm to my feet ever. I used there poly-amide Prusik cord 6 mm thick. But honestly I wanted to try in this video to make them with round leather lace 5 mm thick. But it turned out to be a horrible cord - easily breakable. At least the lace I tried to use was awful. I have a feeling flat leather laces might be better, but I'm not sure how durable it might be. If you have some cords from different materials don't hesitate to try. Free free also to share your experience with some other materials here too. Previous year I bought a cord from pure cotton when I was in Prague. But it is questionable how long it would hold out on the sides where there is a friction with surface. You know from the bottom. Greetings from Slovakia.

Hello @Paramurasaki 🙂Sure, exactly this kind of leather might be difficult to find. I guess I was lucky. But there are plenty of materials that can be used. With thinner material is even easier to work, so scissors should be enough. Drill is not necessary at all too. I agree, on some surfaces it may be slippery. But as said in one of my other comments I mostly just walk in them, as I like the most the backpacking. Have a nice day and good luck.
