Judge Mathis

Judge Mathis

Жыл бұрын

The plaintiff was a former Detroit Police officer and later became addicted to crack and alcohol. He’s been clean for 30 years now. He bought a car for the defendant, but the defendant hasn’t paid him back in full, so he’s suing. The defendant just graduated from high school and says the car broke down, so he doesn’t think he owes the plaintiff.

Almost felt like crying the fact he said thank you for buying the car for me even after the judges ruling says a lot about this young man My prayer is that God will be his strength and protect him and bless his hands in everything he does the sincerity really just spoked too my Heart and this was a very honorable Episode .

I LOVE JM. I’m glad he wasn’t overly critical of the defendant. Young people typically avoid communication not because they don’t want to pay but because they don’t know how to communicate and are afraid that the plaintiff would not have understood. We need to teach young people rather than condemning them.

We called them “The Jump Out Boys.” They’d come through in a paddy wagon and confront anyone of any age outside. I remember being on the bball court with a group of kids. We were fifth graders and just playing ball. We were literally shouting hoops and talking about a report we all had to do as a prerequisite for graduation. They jumped out ran up on us hands in the guns. They were yelling at us and made us lay on the ground. I didn’t live there but a friend who lived there asked for my help on the report. I tried showing them the paper of notes I was writing for them. They didn’t care. I’ve hated cops since.

With all the black on black crime that went on in Detroit, the jump out boys was needed. The way Detroit is currently out of control now with black on black crime, the jump out boys needs to make a return. Black men make their own communities unsafe. They don’t check and correct each other but those jump out boys will 😎

A lot of folks coming down hard on that young man. A two parent household doesn't necessarily mean your parents know about going to college. Especially if neither has ever been. He's young and he's respectful. If someone pointed him in the right direction he'll be alright.

I lived in a 2 parent household. But what people didn’t know is they were really just 2 adults paying the bills. They didn’t parent me. They didn’t teach me anything. & it wasn’t b/c I was hard headed & wasn’t listening. I was literally just there in their way.

Well to give my opinion that nobody asked for 😂 addiction is a form of mental illness. A "normal" or sound mind wouldn't even consider picking up those drugs in the first place. I believe that someone has to have already been suffering from some form of mental health to get on hard drugs. Whether it be ptsd, anxiety, depression etc... Hence why addiction is a disease. For example an eating disorder. When the mind is working properly it doesn't allow the body to overeat but when it's not and those receptors aren't telling the brain that the body is full it leads to an eating disorder. So it's the same with drugs in my opinion, when the receptors in the mind aren't working properly / or a chemical imbalance is present the mind is searching for something to feel good. Drugs can do that. A sound mind can smoke weed, and be done. A person that is suffering from mental health may not be able to "puff it and quit it"... they end up needing that feel good all the time, because they naturally can't produce the endorphins and dopamine to make them hence gateway drugs.
