I wondered why my HOYD wasn't bringing in "model pros" like his personality. Did some research and it turns out you have to go to Staff -> Responsibilities -> Staff -> Advice and reports and turn on "provides youth development information" and select your HOYD. It was previously done by my under 18 manager. I was also informed by my under 18 manager that his "influence and experience" have shaped the mentality of the players - so i'm now going to recruit an under 18 coach with a great personality. The game is very unclear and unhelpful when it comes to the question of maxing out your youth intake.

One more thing that matters massively when your selecting a HOYD is there tactical style, preferred formation, passing style, & 2nd formation. If u get HOYD that matches what ur trying to do in the first team tactic it produces players to fit the style and formation. Helps just like there personality traits do that he passes on. Hope this helps people out

Check out Neil bath as a head of youth development all his coaching and knowledge attributes are above 15, the lowest attribute he has is a 16 and he has a determined personality and he is almost four star ⭐️

One other thing that helps - the personality of the Under 18s Manager is also relevant. I found that out in my first West Ham save so I ended up quickly hiring a new, more desirable Under 18s Manager afterwards

I got a bit lucky with this I think. Playing with hertha Berlin, I brought in a good head of youth development and improved youth scouting in the the first season. That second Intake was damn good, and now I have five of them in my first team squad in season five, including a striker I'm very very excited about

Another thing to consider, if you want to keep a play style and formation, is hire staff with same tactical and play style your are using on your team, so they will bring more players that fit on your tactics

Tip for scouting: Affiliate clubs in foreign clubs, especially clubs and regions where it's hard to find good scouts, also contribute to your scouting knowledge. In my save (Man United) I have affiliate clubs in Poland and the USA, the only reason is to increase my scouting knowledge. The youth players I have are often good enough to get loan to good clubs when they're the right age or step directly into the first team as challengers and cup players.

I have affiliate clubs where it says there is a possibility that they will send their youngsters through to our youth setup but in 3 seasons I haven't had one foreign player through my youth intake, but other clubs seem to get foreign players

hey man i tried loading on youth intake. every year it is on different days but in one year it is on a specific day how many times ever you try and after loading you can get a player your youth intake preview gives every player a bad position. for example in my fc tokyo save i saved after a match. got youth intake the next day.had a extremely bad intake and then loaded 4-5 time and got intake on the same day(intake gets different day every year but on a particular year it is on a particular day and you can find the month of youth intake in youth preview tab) on 5th try i got a extremely great winger with pa 180(check with fmrte as wanted to check my theory),but the youth intake preview said none of the wingers are good this year(Not even one just said one good striker and one good full back).

So I'm Man U, am half way through season 4, at the very start i got Norbert Elgert in as my HoD, work with youngster's 20/ judge ability 16/ judge potential 20/ professional/ continental pro license, thought he would do a banging job but so far after 3 youth intakes i haven't had anyone special come through, a couple of half decent 3 star potentials but that's it, being man u i never thought to look at increase junior coaching or improve youth recruitment and turns out i didn't have the best for either so maybe something as small as that has held back the quality of youth, obviously i have done them now so hoping season 4 intake might bring a gem or 2

Ill have the correct setup and more😅..and for the 4th season running..still..the best i got is 3 n half star.😩.thats why..i prefered to bought em from other youth intake..since i really dont know in which position i need to upgrade anyway so my tranfer budget is solely to bought youth player (17 yo below) Plus. It is kinda enjoyable to have control(buy) of players you assemble for the u17 rather than hoping to get it from youth intake.. ive spend 55 mills on 16yo southampton english prospect this season lol.. he was 135 in CA and had consistent trait as well.. crazyy how much english player prices is..but its a great if u had an establish squad..n dont have to worries about signing player for the first team.. 👌👌 In my save..leeds/southampton/arsenal/man utd are crazy cheating on youth intake.. they got the very best every year

After expanding - less than 50000. 9 seasons, top 1 club in the world, all cups, top income, but the board still refuses the new stadium because of the small fan base. Is it really hardcoded limit in the game?

I don’t think the level of scouting matters at all personally. You showed off one player from Algeria, but surely managing a French club you’re more likely to produce African regens anyway? I’m doing an academy challenge at the minute and have no scouts, and still get players with different nationalities coming through ever year. I’m managing in England and currently have players from Germany, Hungary, Gibraltar, Cyrpus and Spain who have all come through the youth system.

Female head of youth development are fantastic.... I had 3 of them over the years with each of them in club for 20 years each and that time almost 75 percent of my team was from England...btw i had picked Chelsea
