I find that as long as the loanees are playing (in top flight team) nothing else matters that much. Game time develops players the most. It's annoying though that the AI teams seem to "lie" in their promised game time status more than in previous FM's.

When loaning players out for nearly guaranteed playing time, I put a lock on the 'regular starter' option before offering to all clubs. It means anyone offering less than that are filtered out. Have also found on a PSG save (where you can only loan 7 players out in France) I put my best youth prospects in the senior squad to be trained alongside the better players but make them available for all reserve and youth games. Some great improvements that way too!

I always make sure he’s included as a star player or even an important player in whatever club he’s loaned at, so he gets the right amount of game time

The face pack is amazing. I think as long as they are getting sufficient playing time and at as close to the level of your team, then I tend to send them out but got to keep a close eye on their playing time.

Would definitely love to see a Mentoring Video. Also a video about Training Units. Which players to put in which unit. For example, I just started save with Spurs and use Wing Backs in either Attack or Support duty. Should I put them in the Attacking Unit or Defensive. They are my main attacking outlet on the wings and do put in a lot of crosses as well as bomb forward. Just need some clarity.

One big loan factor for me, playing in League 2, is money, saving a few hundred pound a week on each player out on loan can make a big difference to making money that season or not

a couple things that work great for me: 1. level of competition(if it's not top tier and my youth staff is good/ i don't see a point in sending them on loan) chuck them into the youth team and set up friendlies that are most competitive available for the youth team. 2 is the playtime 3. manager's (where I'm sending them to)attributes - especially working with youth With this strategy i've made money on players I don't intend to use, but their value have dropped because of playtime or form by loaning them out for a season. They usually come back retaining their form and I try blending them into my squad or just cashing them in.

A big one for me that i think you didnt mention is 'home grown status...i bring a lot of 16/17/18 year olds. If i see huge potential, i dont like to loan them out until they have gained home grown status. If they are already HG in nation, i am normally willing to let them go on loan however

Why can't I loan out some playeers from my U23s and U18s? I gave a Youth contract to a guy in my U18s and I want to loan him out but I can't. THe only players I can loan out are playeers who are signed by me (but they are not the default players in academy which I gave a contract to) or players who were originally in the 1st team. I am currently in my 1st season with King's Lynn in VNL North. Also when I click on Transfer--->Loan Status--->It is checked to unavailable for loan and greyed out

I'm doing a long career with Man United (as always) and every year I spend hours and hours on scouting youth prospects and try to get them signed up as early as possible to get them as home grown players. This naturally results in ending up with lots of young players that won't get enough game time for the U18 or the reserve team, what I always do is having one domestic club I can send my players out on loan to when they're good enough for them (Championship team). I also set most of the youngsters on loan once they reach 19 or 20 years old, apart from the ones I think can play in my own domestic cup games. The only trick to loaning players our is to make sure that they're promised first team football as "key player" or similar, don't bother with trying to get loan money for them- the important thing for development is gametime.

This first team playtime thing is rubbish. The important thing is to give young players playtime and good trainning facilities. As long as young players are starting games on u23 or u18 squads they´re fine. If they are in a club w/ good trainning facilities even better. THERE IS NO NEED TO RUSH YOUNG PLAYERS IN YOUR FIRST TEAM. They are better starting 20/30 games in your u23 or u18 squads than getting fewer minutes in your 1st team.
