That’s a lie. I work in IT and have worked with hundreds of Indians. I even visited India on a work trip. As a black woman they looked at me like I was in a zoo. Everywhere I went, even the Taj Mahal. So if they see themselves as black people, why would they stare at me like an animal in a zoo? It was so unsettling.

I am Indian and I have some wonderful friends from Kenya and Nigeria, but I don't consider myself black. I am not. I am East Indian no matter what roots we come from. Also, there are a good number of Indians who are not dark skinned. Saying we like Africans or African Americans is different than saying we believe we are them. I also have good white friends and friends from Vietnam and Philippines. I like them too. Should I say I think I am white, Filipino, or Vietnamese?

That occurred millions of years ago before humans even existed. Also, by that dudes logic, everyone is technically ‘African’ bc Africans migrated out of east Africa/Middle East to ALL parts of the world- Europe, Asia, down to Australia. The reality is that Indians are a mixed race- they are mixed with Neolithic Iranian farmers, south Asian hunters and gatherers, and aryan steppe pastoralists. Modern day Indians do not have any recent African DNA. Look it up and do your research. Another fact, Indians are part of the west Eurasian grouping and are genetically closer to middle easterners and Europeans than to any other race in the world. This is very apparent in their skull structures but it’s a shame people only judge on skin color. So this Indian dude is incorrect!

Indian people have very strong caste system. It’s taboo for an Indian men to marry an Indian woman from different caste. They do this racist stuff between each other so you are not the only one.

That was about you not being Indian not you being black fam. They highly religious and often some have prearranged marriages or have an idea so when they find their child dates outside the community they react like this. So more about you not being Indian and most likely not their religion.

The thing about these discussions black people we haven’t realized it but we may be right but we’ll never know until we sit down and actually LISTEN and discuss with other races/ethnicities. We gotta be able to be open enough for real discussion. And get our points across with proper communication

We aren't the only ones who do it, when it comes to talking about these issues it equally happens from white ppl as well. They only cut him off because Indian ppl don't associate themselves with black ppl and they tried to use an example of how much they tried to distance themselves. I'm all for conversation, but we can't act like we're the only ones who do this on important topics
