We def need numbers at CB - and even more so with Varane likely leaving , Lindelof should be sold , Maguire should be sold as well given its our last chance to cash in on HM and Licha i'd expect will need to be rotated quite a bit next term. Todibo, Lucumi and Anselmino would be a good bit of business. Anslemino we can loan right out and Lucumi seemingly available somewhat on the cheap and the limited i've watched Bologna he seems a very good passing left-footed CB (but not watched enough to really judge his overall quality). Thats quality and numbers without killing the budget. Plus the right sales offset even that CB spend ; potential Maguire and Lindelof fees should go towards that. Gyokeres , i'd say no chance , he has a massive release clause and is on basically a goal a game form for Sporting and i believe many assists as well. Ntm the big Portuguese clubs are notoriously difficult to deal with and on Gyokeres' form i can't see Sporting coming off that clause by much.

Well done by SJR / INEOS , little by little reducing the Glazer super majority on the board. Roger Bell i believe is also INEOS' CFO , so another INEOS ally and appointee on the board. Glazers I am certain will insure to maintain their board majority but its getting tighter. Last month there were reports of one of the INEOS co-founders also possibly taking a board seat (on top of Blanc and Brailsford) but not much came of it in the following weeks so tbd. Really coming down to a few independent directors on the board that are still Glazer allies and insure their board control but still moves in the right direction. And with the staggering amount of revenue and profit INEOS make their CFO coming aboard is most welcome and surely very competent at what he does. Alvaro leaving for a pittance is a bit disappointing , i rate the player a lot ; unfortunately ETH and seemingly parts of the hierarchy didn't have much faith in him to allow for such a low buy option.

Ineos cleaning house. I was expecting Ineos to appoint their own CFO. Having Blanc acting as interim CEO while we wait for Berrada to be physically in place makes sense, there's some big decisions to be made over the next couple of months, we want Ineos's guy making these decisions, not the Glazer guy. Ineos now have 6 board members.
